Les salles de concerts nous manquent dans cette période de confinement mais on se console avec la bonne musique qui sort sans arrêt sur les plateformes digitales. Les artistes sont de plus en plus créatives, beaucoup se réinventent à la maison et le résultat est excellent. Certains ont choisi de maintenir leurs sorties officielles d’album, certains l’ont reporté mais ce qui est sûr, l’actualité musicale est très riche dans cette période. On ne s’ennuie pas. Voilà ce qui a retenu mon attention dernièrement.
Alison Mosshart – Rise
La fabuleuse chanteuse de The Kills et The Dead Weather a sorti Rise, une chanson accompagnée d’une vidéo filmée et réalisée en confinement. Positive vibes, rock puissant et énergique, la rockeuse déchire comme d’habitude.
EUROPE – Walk The Earth
Les suédois du enregistrent Walk The Earth en acoustique.Tous les profits générés par les vues et le partage seront donnés à Médecins Sans Frontières, pour aider à leur lutte contre le coronavirus.
DEAD BONES BUNNY – Carrot N’Chill
Le 28 Avril 2020, la sortie d’un EP très spécial en plein confinement pour le groupe de Rockabilly-Metal, les DEAD BONES BUNNY !

TYLER BRYANT & THE SHAKEDOWN – Out There
Le quatuor, Tyler Bryant (Guitare, Chant), Caleb Crosby (batterie), Graham Whitford (guitare), Noah Denney (basse) – a sorti en juin 2019 un excellent deuxième album, intitulé Truth and Lies. Après une premier album éponyme sorti en 2017, ce deuxième opus confirme leur talent de créer un rock blues véritable, imprégné de leur propre personnalité. Un son magistral dominé par de superbes guitares et par la voix profonde et pleine de sensibilité du maestro Tyler Bryant. 13 merveilleuses compositions authentiques, brutes et passionnées. Découvrez une nouvelle video « OUT There ». Et une info moins réjouissante pour les fans car Noah Denney a annoncé officiellement qu’il quitte le groupe pour se consacrer à sa passion, la batterie.
LADY CYLEW – Whole Lotta Love
La chanteuse du groupe français Cylew, Lady CY dévoile une version glamour, stylé et très originale de l’hymne rock classique de Led Zeppelin. Du rock alternatif mélangé avec des sonorités orientales, des synthés saturés, une belle voix, une reprise accompagnée par un joli video clip filmé en plein confinement. EVANESCENCE – WASTED ON YOU
Evanescence vient d’annoncer la sortie de son prochain album studio. Un événement que les fans attendaient depuis 9 ans. Intitulé The Bitter Truth, il sortira “progressivement” au cours de cette année. Wasted on You en est le premier extrait. Associé à la voix époustouflante d’Amy Lee et au son purement rock caractéristique du groupe, le refrain de la chanson est d’une actualité et d’une universalité évidente.
Le clip a été tourné par chaque membre du groupe – la chanteuse, compositrice et pianiste Amy Lee, le bassiste Tim McCord, le batteur Will Hunt, le guitariste Troy McLawhorn et la guitariste Jen Majura – sur leurs iPhones alors qu’ils étaient confinés. Tournée de manière intimiste (et finalement réalisée par P.R. Brown en collaboration avec le groupe), cette vidéo évoque les hauts et les bas internes que chacun d’entre nous connaît au quotidien.
L’album, The Bitter Truth, trouve son origine dans le son épique et caractéristique qui a valu à Evanescence deux Grammy Awards et plus de 23 millions d’albums vendus dans le monde entier. Le producteur Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Deftones) accompagne le groupe à Nashville depuis fin janvier. Le groupe va progressivement sortir une série de chansons extraites de ce disque, avant la sortie de l’album complet. Plus tard dans l’année, le groupe partira en tournée en Europe dans le cadre de la tournée en co-tête-d’affiche avec Within Temptation, des dates initialement prévues sur le printemps 2020.

PAPA ROACH – Top of the World
On a tous regretté l’annulation du concert de Papa Roach prévu le 13 mars dernier à Paris, au Zénith mais une petite consolation, si on peut dire ça, vient du fait le californiens cartonnent actuellement sur la radio rock française Oui FM et aussi sur Spotify et Deezer avec son titre Top of the World extrait de l’album « Who Do You Trust? »

Samedi 25 avril 2020, les 4 membres de Papa Roach, Jacoby Shaddix, Jerry Horton, Tobin Esperance, Tony Palermo, ainsi que le batteur original Dave Buckner avaient donné RDV à leurs fans du monde entier pour célébrer ensemble, les 20 ans de leur premier album Infest.
Ce qui devait être un simple Q&A s’est transformé en un marathon de 7 heures (!!!) au cours desquelles les musiciens de Papa Roach ont été rejoints par Chino Moreno des Deftones, Jason Aalon Butler de The Fever 333, Brian Welch de Korn et Synyster Gates d’Avenged Sevenfold

Walter Trout – We’re All In This Together
Le guitariste américain Walter Trout, vétéran de la scène blues US, vient de mettre en ligne une video pour le titre “We’re All In This Together”. Cette chanson, sur laquelle il partage le chant et les guitares avec Joe Bonamassa figure sur l’album du même nom, sorti en 2017. Le clip est illustré par des images envoyées par des fans du monde entier, en témoignage de leur éloignement social causé par la pandémie
Beth Hart – No Place Like Home
Dans le même esprit, le 9 avril dernier, Beth Hart avait lancé une vidéo pour sa chanson No Place Like Home dont la version originale figure de l’album “Fire on the Floor” (2016)
Au milieu du montage des photos et des mini-films envoyés par ses fans des 4 coins de la planète, la chanteuse est filmée chez elle, à Los Angeles, où elle confinée “at home” avec son mari.

PLAYLIST – Musicians in Quarantine
We miss the concerts in this quarantine period but we take a little comfort in the good music that comes out continuously on digital platforms. Artists are more and more creative; many of them reinvent themselves at home and the result is excellent. Some have chosen to maintain their official album releases, some have postponed it but what is certain, the music world is very rich. We don’t get bored. That’s what’s caught my attention lately.
Alison Mosshart – Rise
The fabulous singer of The Kills and The Dead Weather released Rise, a great song accompanied by a video filmed and made during the quarantine. Positive vibes, powerful and energetic rock, she is killing it as usual.
EUROPE – Walk The Earth
The Swedish band recorded Walk The Earth in acoustic version. All profits generated by the views and sharing will be donated to Médecins Sans Frontières, to help with their fight against Covid -19.
DEAD BONES BUNNY – Carotte N’Chill
On April 28, 2020, the Rockabilly-Metal band, the DEAD BONES BUNNY released of a very special EP in full quarantine period. But with Carrot n’Chill there is a change of style – piano, double bass… a retro chic sound. Available on all platforms

EVANESCENCE – WASTED ON YOU
Evanescence has just announced the release of their next studio album. An event that fans have been waiting for 9 years. Entitled The Bitter Truth, it will be released “progressively” during this year. Wasted on You is the first extract. Combined with Amy Lee’s breathtaking voice and the band’s characteristic purely rock sound, the song’s chorus is universal.
The music video was shot by each member of the band – singer, songwriter and pianist Amy Lee, bassist Tim McCord, drummer Will Hunt, guitarist Troy McLawhorn and guitarist Jen Majura – on their iPhones while they were confined.
Shot in an intimate way (and finally directed by P.R. Brown in collaboration with the band), this video evokes the internal ups and downs that each of us knows on a daily basis. The album, The Bitter Truth, has its origins in the epic and characteristic sound that has earned Evanescence two Grammy Awards and more than 23 million albums sold worldwide. Producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Deftones) has been accompanying the band to Nashville since late January.
The band will gradually release a series of songs from this record, before the release of the full album. Later in the year, the band will tour Europe as part of the co-headline tour with Within Temptation, dates originally scheduled for spring 2020.

PAPA ROACH – Top of the World
We all regretted the cancellation of Papa Roach’s concert scheduled for March 13th in Paris, at the Zenith due to Covid-19 restrictions, but a small consolation, if we can say that, comes from the fact that the Californians hit the French rock radio Oui FM and also Spotify and Deezer with their track Top of the World out of the album ” Who Do You Trust?” released in 2019.
Not the Only One has been already played on repeat on French radio so Top Of The World looks to follow the same path.

On Saturday, April 25, 2020, the four members of Papa Roach, Jacoby Shaddix, Jerry Horton, Tobin Esperance, Tony Palermo, as well as the original drummer Dave Buckner gave an appointment to their fans around the world to celebrate together the 20th anniversary of their debut album Infest.
What was supposed to be a simple Q-A turned into a 7-hour marathon (!!!) in which Papa Roach’s musicians were joined by Chino Moreno of the Deftones, Jason Aalon Butler of The Fever 333, Brian Welch of Korn and Synyster Gates of Avenged Sevenfold.

Walter Trout – We’re All In This Together
The legend of the US blues has just released a video for the title “We’re All In This Together”. This song, on which he shares vocals and guitars with Joe Bonamassa, is featured on the album of the same name, released in 2017. The video clip is illustrated by images sent by fans around the world, as a testament to their social remoteness caused by the pandemic situation.
Beth Hart – No Place Like Home
In the same spirit, on April 9, Beth Hart had launched a video for her song No Place Like Home, the original feature version of the album “Fire on the Floor” (2016) Amid the editing of photos and mini-films sent by her fans from all over the world, the singer is filmed at her home in Los Angeles, where she confined with her husband.
