THE LANSKIES – Energy and Fun at La Maroquinerie, Paris – 22.09.2026 – Concert Review

En avril 2026, THE LANSKIES était de retour après 10 ans d’absence avec un line-up renouvelé et un excellent nouvel album, War Machine.

Le 22 septembre le groupe originaire de Saint Lô nous donnait RDV à Paris sur la scène à la Maroquinerie pour une session live incandescente porté par l’énergie rageuse de leur style « Hot Wave » signature : un beau mélange de post‑punk, indie‑pop, new wave et britpop qui ne ressemble qu’à eux.

En ouverture de soirée, PUSSY MIEL. Avec son premier EP Bee Raged, sorti en mars 2026, le quatuor féminin originaire de Capbreton, dans les Landes, affirme déjà une identité forte : du rock alternatif à la croisée du stoner, du punk et du grunge des années 90.

Dès les premiers morceaux de « Don’t Know » et « Covid », les musiciennes imposent leur univers : un rock brut, direct et terriblement efficace. Entre riffs saturés, rythmiques tendues et énergie communicative, le public est rapidement conquis. Elles glisseront également une parenthèse humoristique avec une prétendue « méditation sonore » destinée à « détendre les chakras».

Sur scène, la complicité entre Laura (guitare), Amandine (guitare, chant), Inès (Batterie) et Lola (basse) est évidente. Headbangings, sourires et échanges constants avec le public participent à une ambiance chaleureuse et libératrice. Le groupe revendique également sa place en tant que formation féminine dans le rock et rappelle son attachement à des valeurs d’émancipation et de résistance.

La reprise explosive de Dancing With Myself fait monter la température d’un cran et déclenche les premiers pogos. Puis vient Wasted, véritable hymne à la résilience après une rupture, porté par des mélodies lumineuses et un refrain accrocheur qui en fait sans doute le titre phare de Bee Raged.

Un tourbillon d’énergie qui emporte tout sur son passage. Une pépite à suivre de très près.

Petite pause et vers 21h10 c’est le tour de THE LANSKIES de montrer sur scène.

Pendant un plus d’une heure et dix, le groupe va enchaîner quatorze titres efficaces et incisifs. Les refrains accrocheurs et les guitares nerveuses se succèdent sans jamais lever le pied.

Lewis Evans, casquette et lunettes de soleil, n’attend pas pour briser la glace : dès le début du set, le chanteur multiplie les clins d’œil au public, installant une ambiance conviviale et festive.

Fidèle à sa réputation de dynamiteur de scène, le chanteur anglais originaire de Liverpool est partout à la fois, bondissant d’un bout à l’autre des planches. Véritable boule d’énergie, il occupe chaque recoin de la scène, en agitation permanente et communication avec le public tout en délivrant une excellente interprétation.

Lewis sait aussi faire retomber la pression entre deux décharges électriques, en enchaînant les anecdotes et les bières (offertes par les fans), en posant des questions et faire participer tout le monde. Le public est dans sa poche.

A ses cotés une section rythmique en béton armé : un batteur infatigable, Antoine Cadot, qui cogne avec une intensité impressionnante et un bassiste très précis Anthony Cox et évidemment les deux guitaristes Florian von Kunnsberg et Alex Paul qui apportent toute la richesse du son Lanskies : des rifs lumineux et percutants. Un groupe soudé en totale cohésion.

Côté set list fait la part belle au nouvel album avec notamment le trio explosif : Le très dansant Fortune Teller, le délicat et mélodieux Jacky et l’entêtant et hypnotique Sexy Teacher, qui va déclencher une grande vague d’enthousiasme.

Les titres plus anciens extraits des albums Bank Holiday sorti en 2010 (le bondissant However ou Dirty Harry) et Hot Wave sortie en 2014 (Sunny Rose, Romeo et 48h) feront également le bonheur de fans qui applaudissent bruyamment après chaque morceau.

Vers la fin du concert, l’enchanteur et irrésistible Love Fool est repris avec les filles de Pussy Miel, dans un joyeux chaos débordant d’énergie sur scène.

Pour le rappel, The Lanskies ont sorti l’artillerie lourde avec une version incendiaire de de Bank Holiday. Lewis se jettera au milieu du public pour plusieurs séries de pogos effréné. La fosse est complément embarqué et visiblement personne n’a envie que cela se termine. Une image forte, celle d’un groupe qui puise son essence dans le live et le partage avec ses fans. Une déferlante d’énergie et du FUN qui embarque tout le monde.

Entre riffs tranchants, mélodies imparables, rythmiques puissante et un chanteur dynamique et communicatif, The Lanskies ont frappé fort ce soir à la Maroquinerie !

In April 2026, THE LANSKIES was back after a 10-year absence with a renewed line-up and an excellent new album, War Machine.

On September 22nd, the band from Saint Lô gave us an appointment in Paris on the stage at the Maroquinerie for an incandescent live session carried by the raging energy of their signature “Hot Wave” style: a beautiful mix of post-punk, indie-pop, new wave and britpop that only resembles them.

To open the evening, PUSSY MIEL. With its first EP Bee Raged, released in March 2026, the female quartet from Capbreton, in the Landes, already asserts a strong identity: alternative rock at the crossroads of stoner, punk and 90s grunge.

From the first tracks of Don’t Know and Covid, the musicians impose their universe: raw, direct and terribly effective rock. Between saturated riffs, tense rhythms and communicative energy, the audience is quickly won over. They will also slip in a humorous parenthesis with a so-called “sound meditation” intended to “relax the chakras”.

On stage, the complicity between Laura (guitar), Amandine (guitar, vocals), Inès (drums) and Lola (bass) is obvious. Headbangings, smiles and constant exchanges with the audience contribute to a warm and liberating atmosphere. The group also claims its place as a female band in rock and recalls its attachment to the values of emancipation and resistance.

The explosive cover of Dancing With Myself raises the temperature a notch and triggers the first pogos. Then comes Wasted, a real hymn to resilience after a breakup, carried by luminous melodies and a catchy chorus that undoubtedly makes it the flagship track of Bee Raged.

A whirlwind of energy that sweeps away everything in its path. A nugget to follow very closely.

A short break and around 9:10 p.m. it’s the turn of THE LANSKIES to show on stage.

For more than an hour and ten, the band will perform fourteen effective and incisive tracks. The catchy choruses and nervous guitars follow one another without ever taking their foot off the gas.

Lewis Evans, cap and sunglasses, doesn’t wait to break the ice: from the beginning of the set, the singer multiplies the winks to the audience, setting up a friendly and festive atmosphere.

True to his reputation as a stage dynamiter, the English singer from Liverpool is everywhere at once, bouncing from one end of the stage to the other. A real ball of energy, he occupies every corner of the stage, in permanent agitation and communication with the audience while delivering an excellent interpretation.

Lewis also knows how to take the pressure off between two electric shocks, by stringing together anecdotes and beers (offered by the fans), asking questions and getting everyone involved. The audience is in his pocket.

At his side a reinforced concrete rhythm section: a tireless drummer, Antoine Cadot, who hits with an impressive intensity and a very precise bassist Anthony Cox and of course the two guitarists Florian von Kunnsberg and Alex Paul who bring all the richness of the Lanskies sound: bright and percussive riffs. A united band in total cohesion.

As for the set list, the new album gives pride of place to the explosive trio: The very danceable Fortune Teller, the delicate and melodious Jacky and the heady and hypnotic Sexy Teacher, which will trigger a great wave of enthusiasm.

The older tracks from the albums Bank Holiday released in 2010 (the bouncy However or Dirty Harry) and Hot Wave released in 2014 (Sunny Rose, Romeo and 48h) will also delight fans who applaud loudly after each track.

Towards the end of the concert, the enchanting and irresistible Love Fool is performed with the girls of Pussy Miel, in a joyful chaos overflowing with energy on stage.

For the encore, The Lanskies have brought out the heavy artillery with an incendiary version of Bank Holiday. Lewis will throw himself in the middle of the audience for several series of frantic pogos. The pit is completely on board and obviously no one wants it to end. A strong image, that of a band that draws its essence from live and shares it with its fans. Great energy and a lot of fun that gets everyone on board.

Between sharp riffs, unstoppable melodies, powerful rhythms and a dynamic and communicative singer, The Lanskies hit hard tonight at the Maroquinerie!
