C’est à Paris que la canadienne JJ WILDE a choisi de donner son tout premier concert européen. En effet, sa folle semaine de promo en France et Belgique où elle a donnée plein d’interviews et des shows acoustiques à la radio (on vous a parlé ici de son secret show privé pour Oui FM) se clôturait tout en beauté avec un show extraordinaire, le 6 décembre à la Maroquinerie à Paris. Et j’ai eu la chance d’y assister ! Voilà les détails :
Crop top rose en tweed orné de strass, jean blanc, boots blancs, la ravissante JJ WILDE arrive sur scène vers 21h, flanquée de ses 2 guitaristes, un bassiste / claviériste et un batteur. La salle est pleine à craquer ! Le public l’accueille avec des énormes cris et d’applaudissements.
Sans crier gare, la star montante du rock venu du Canada prend d’assaut la foule avec la très puissante Trouble et la dansante Cold Shoulder.
La set list alterne des moments super énergiques, funky : Off The Rail, Best Boy, les groovy Bushweed et Home et des moments plus calmes, chargés d’émotion : les sensuelles Give it All, Someone Under You, la dramatique Knees ou la bouleversante Mercy. Les morceaux s’enchainent et à chaque fois, elle tient à nous expliquer dans un mélange adorable de français et anglais, l’histoire de chaque morceau.
Les chansons sont encore plus intenses en live que sur le disque. Sa fantastique capacité vocale et ce timbre rock puissant révèle une force sonique incroyable. Le public est submergé.
L’interaction avec l’audience est permanente. La chanteuse est très émue et remercie plusieurs fois au public d’être venu la voir pour ce premier concert en France et en Europe.
JJ WILDE déborde de charisme. Elle rayonne, bouge avec beaucoup de grâce et d’assurance. Avec sa présence sur scène, elle montre totale confiance. Elle semble puissante et très sûre d’elle.
Et quand elle chante on ressent, le sentiment de vulnérabilité, elle transmet les d’émotions, elle nous fait ressentir ce qu’elle ressent avec une incroyable sincérité. On est totalement immergé dans sa musique.
A chaque morceau la voix est époustouflante : superbe, écorchée, vibrante. Aucun signe d’hésitation ou baisse d’énergie ressentie.
JJ WILDE a hypnotisé l’audience avec un show puissant, énergique et extrêmement réjouissant. Le rythme, les mélodies accrocheuses, les paroles et les émotions, et cette interprétation féroce et passionnée nous ont emportés dans un authentique voyage Rock N’Roll ! Impossible de ne pas tomber sous le charme!
Beaucoup d’interaction et complicité entre JJ et son l’excellent groupe d’accompagnement, ceux qu’elle appelle sa famille (d’ailleurs, le guitarise Dan est son cousin qui l’accompagne depuis longtemps dans son périple musical)
Grand moment avec Funeral For A Lover, chanson quelle introduit avec un discours poignant sur la sensibilisation à la santé mentale. Confrontée dans son entourage, elle souligne l’importance d’en parler ouvertement. On ressent sa douleur et la vulnérabilité dans ce morceau. Magnifique !
Le set s’est terminé avec son hit The Rush, qu’on attendait avec impatience. Explosion de joie et applaudissements. Tout le monde chante et danse !
Elle reviendra pour interpréter une toute nouvelle chanson 1000 Miles Away et le concert prend fin avec l’excellente reprise de Stevie Nicks / Tom Petty, Stop Dragging’ My Heart Around.
JJ WILDE est née pour jouer sur scène. Elle a parfaitement maitrisé de son show! L’énergie apportée à la foule a été tout simplement spectaculaire. Ce soir, JJ Wilde a mis tout le monde à ses pieds avec une performance mémorable. Elle a le cœur sur la main. Une auteure-compositrice prodigieuse et sincère qui n’a pas peur de se mettre à nu et montrer sa vulnérabilité. Son énergie, son charme et sa voix transportent la foule.

It was in Paris that the Canadian JJ WILDE chose to give her very first European concert. Indeed, her crazy week of promotion in France and Belgium where she gave lots of interviews and acoustic shows on the radio (we told you here about her secret private show for Oui FM) ended in style with an extraordinary show, on December 6th, at the Maroquinerie in Paris.
And I had the chance to attend! Here are the details:
Pink crop top in tweed decorated with strass, white jeans, white boots, the lovely JJ WILDE arrives on stage around 9pm, flanked by her 2 guitarists, a bassist / keyboardist and a drummer.
The venue is packed! The audience greets her with huge shouts and applause. Without warning, the rising Rock Star storms the crowd with the very powerful Trouble and the dancing Cold Shoulder.
The set list alternates super energetic, funky moments: Off The Rail, Best Boy, the groovy Bushweed and Home and emotionally charged moments: the sensual Give it All or Someone under You the dramatic Knees or the upsetting Mercy. The songs are even more intense live than on the record. Her fantastic vocal ability and powerful rock timbre reveals incredible sonic strength. The audience is overwhelmed.
The songs follow one after another and each time, she explains to us in an adorable mix of French and English the history of each one. The interaction with the audience is permanent. The singer is very moved and thanks with emotion several times to the audience for having come to see her for this first concert in France and Europe.
JJ WILDE is oozing with charisma. She radiates, moves with great grace and confidence. With her presence on stage, she shows total confidence. She seems powerful and very sure of herself. And when she sings, we have this feeling of vulnerability, she transmits the emotions, she makes us feel what she feels with incredible honesty. We are totally immersed in her music.
For each song the voice is breath-taking: superb, tortured, vibrant. No signs of hesitation or decrease of energy.
JJ WILDE mesmerized the audience with a powerful, energetic and extremely enjoyable show. The rhythm, the catchy melodies, the lyrics and emotions, and her passionate interpretation took us on an authentic Rock N’Roll journey! It’s hard not to fall under her spell !
A lot of interaction and complicity between JJ and her excellent musicians those she calls her family (by the way, the guitar player Dan is her cousin who has been accompanying her for a long time in her musical journey)
Great moment with Funeral For A Lover, song introduced by a poignant speech on mental health awareness. Confronted in her close circle, she stresses the importance of talking about it openly. We can totally feel her pain and vulnerability in this song. Magnificent!
The set ended with her hit The Rush, which we were looking forward to. Explosion of joy and applause. Everyone sings and dances!
She will return to perform a brand-new song 1000 Miles Away and the concert ends with the Stevie Nicks/Tom Petty’s excellent cover, Stop Dragging’ My Heart Around.
Definitely, JJ WILDE was born to perform on stage. She perfectly mastered her show! The energy brought to the crowd was simply spectacular. Tonight, JJ Wilde put everyone at her feet with a memorable performance. An unforgettable journey through the intensity of her fierce singing and the honesty behind the lyrics. A talented and sincere songwriter who is not show her vulnerability. Her energy, charm and voice carry the crowd.
