TEXAS – HI (featuring Wu-Tang Clan)
Quatre ans après la sortie de leur dernier album Jump On Board classé numéro #1 dans les charts en France, le mythique groupe écossais TEXAS est revenu le 28 mai avec Hi, leur dixième album studio.
A travers de 14 nouveaux titres groovy et très efficaces, le groupe aux plus de 40 millions d’albums vendus distille tous les ingrédients qui ont fait sa grandeur : le son rock, soul, pop et Motown et bien sûr la magnifique voix de la chanteuse emblématique Sharleen Spiteri.
En 2018, la chanteuse et le bassiste Johnny McElhone ont trouvé des extraits des sessions originales de White on Blonde dont ils avaient oublié l’existence. Au départ, ils pensaient que ces joyaux non découverts pourraient être publiés sous la forme d’un album “perdu”, mais l’écoute des morceaux leur a donné envie d’écrire de nouveaux morceaux.
Trois des chansons ont été écrites pendant le confinement, en Écosse, au Pays de Galles, à Los Angeles et en Suède.
La collaboration avec le Wu-Tang Clan a donné l’excellent titre HI (on entend plutôt High !!!)
Parmi d’autres collaborations, citons Dark Fire, écrite avec Richard Hawley, un titre charmant qui rappelle l’esprit d’un slow de bal de fin d’année du lycée, tandis que Look What You’ve Done est un duo enivrant où Sharleen échange des couplets avec Clare Grogan (Altered Images).
Mr Haze est un morceau Motown imprégné de soul, mené par un sample de Donna Summer, tandis qu’un autre point fort de l’album est la belle balade au piano Unbelievable.
Moonstar dévoile des vibrations country, de guitares détonantes et de solos d’harmonica magistraux.
Après trente ans de carrière ce nouvel album montre que TEXAS est toujours au sommet.
No Money Kids –No Matter
Né d’une rencontre entre deux musiciens de banlieue parisienne, le tandem No Money Kids composent des ballades vertigineuses et des hymnes garage et font cohabiter avec une grande habilité le blues et l’électronique, le rock vibrant et l’indie-pop, le vintage et la modernité.
Apres 2 singles : Crossroad et Why I’m so cold qui ont attiré toute notre attention, Félix Matschulat (Guitare-chant) et JM Paletan ((Basse-drums-électronique) sont de retour avec No Matter un nouvel extrait de leur album à venir Factory.
Le single No Matter emprunte la voix d’un ouvrier usé par le labeur et privé de la lumière du jour pendant ses longues journées à l’usine. Force et douceur s’affrontent tout au long du morceau, les couplets contemplatifs se confrontent aux refrains rauques et électriques, la mélancolie rock cohabite avec des arrangements électroniques vifs et fulgurants, évoluant au fil des songes d’un homme sur la brèche.
Petit historique du groupe : leur premier disque I don’t trust you, sort chez Roy Music en Octobre 2015, en édition chez Alter-K. Entièrement enregistré, mixé et masterisé chez JM Pelatan (Basse-drums-électronique). Ils conserveront ce process do-it- yourself pour toutes leurs productions futures « Hear the Silence » sorti en 2017 et « Trouble » en 2018.
En parallèle, l’imagerie clair-obscur développée par le groupe séduit le monde de la mode (défilés Schwarzkopf, Stylist, Glamour, Modzik) et inspire les premiers clips avec des réalisateurs internationaux.
En 2016, le duo est repéré par le haut-de- gamme du prêt-à-porter, désigné groupe ‘‘découverte’’ de la marque Cotélac avec la création d’un EP promotionnel, 15.000 exemplaires distribués gratuitement dans plus 110 boutiques en France et à l’étranger.
Les hymnes rock de No Money Kids parcourent le globe et ne tardent pas à séduire les ‘music supervisors’ outre-atlantique : nombre de leurs singles se retrouvent dans des séries TV – Banshee, Night Shift, Veep, Killjoys, Goliath, Dollar, Legacies, Servant, Shameless – ou dans des films – Misconduct (avec Al Pacino et Anthony Hopkins), Get the girl ou Baby, Baby, Baby (avec Bradley Cooper).
Le duo se forge une réputation scénique avec de nouvelles tournées qui les amènent à fouler les planches de festivals de renom tels que Rock en Seine 2017, Solidays 2018 ou Art Rock 2019.
Après avoir voyagé aux quatre coins de la France et de l’Europe, la pandémie mondiale mettra en pause leur never-ending tour en Mars 2020. Habitués à composer sur la route, sur le vif ou entre deux tournées, le confinement et l’immobilité changeront drastiquement leur rapport au temps et à la création. Ainsi l’album Factory s’imprégnera de l’atmosphère isolée de l’usine, composé dans l’intimité du confinement et prévu pour la fin 2021. On aura l’occasion de les voir sur scène cette été.

Zeal & Ardor nous offre un premier indice sur leur futur troisième album qui fera suite à l’excellent Stranger Fruit sorti sur le label MVKA en 2018.
Manuel Gagneux, la tête pensante du groupe et ses acolytes ont profité de ces 18 derniers mois pour canaliser leur énergie et leur immense créativité pour écrire des nouveaux titres.
Ces alchimistes suisses capables de transformer du black metal en blues ont mis déjà mis en ligne en octobre dernier, de manière complètement autonome, Wake Of A Nation, un EP de 6 titres tout à fait saisissant. RUN est l’avant-gout d’un nouvel album qui s’annonce très intense.
Manuel Gagneux explique : « Run est le premier titre que nous avons extrait de notre album éponyme parce que, bien qu’il contienne certainement des éléments familiers, Il donne aussi le ton des choses à venir. C’est certainement l’une de nos chansons les plus agressives à ce jour, mais ce n’est que l’avant-garde de ce qui vous attend…. Courez tant que vous en avez encore le temps… »

Quinn Sullivan – In A World Without You
Chanteur, auteur-compositeur et guitariste talentueux, Quinn Sullivan vient de sortir le 4 juin son quatrième album Wide Awake produit par Oliver Leiber (Aretha Franklin, Rod Stewart, Paula Abdul…)
À seulement 22 ans, l’américain a déjà fait le tour du monde en se produisant dans les plus grandes salles : Madison Square Garden, le Hollywood Bowl et RFK Stadium à Washington D.C. ainsi que dans des festivals l’Inde Mahindra Blues Festival, Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival, et trois Montreux Jazz Festivals.
Tombé amoureux de la guitare quand il avait seulement 5 ans, il a joué sur scène avec son héros et mentor Buddy Guy, ainsi qu’avec Carlos Santana à plusieurs reprises. J’ai eu le grand plaisir de discuter avec lui il y a quelques jours et vous allez découvrir l’interview bientôt.

HANGMAN’S CHAIR – Cold & Distant
HANGMAN’S CHAIR annonce la signature d’un deal mondial avec le prestigieux label allemand Nuclear Blast Records en lançant un nouveau titre et un clip.
Ce magnifique premier extrait est accompagné par une vidéo illustrant une lente randonnée dans les bois. La vidéo met en scène l’actrice Béatrice Dalle face à nos propres tourments. Un rôle qui lui va comme un gant…Avec une approche aussi unique que rebelle, les quatre musiciens parisiens sont bien décidés à marquer de leur empreinte ce genre que l’on appelle communément “Doom Metal”.
Le groupe a beaucoup à dire au sujet de ce premier extrait : « Les mots de Travis Bickle dans Taxi-Driver résonnent encore : ‘I realise now how much she’s like the others, cold and distant’. Nous sommes Travis et nous sommes aussi Betsy. Lorsque le monde essaie de vous guérir et de vous sauver, nous, nous choisissons l’isolement. Embrassez votre dépression et ne vous plaignez pas… »
Ces 5 premières minutes laissent déjà entrevoir ce que nous réserve le futur album. Les différents visages que Béatrice Dalle montre tout au long du clip, confirment à quel point elle a endossé le rôle et ressenti la force du texte, comme si cette chanson avait été faite pour elle.
Formé en 2005 à Paris, HANGMAN’S CHAIR a peu à peu développé un son unique qui donne au groupe une place particulière sur la scène Doom Rock actuelle. Au fil des années, ils ont trouvé et peaufiné leur propre vision sonore, quelque part à la croisée des chemins entre Type O Negative, Life of Agony et Sisters of Mercy, pour n’en nommer que quelques-uns.

DURAN DURAN – Invisible
Leur premier album éponyme vient de fêter 40 ans et voila que le groupe mythique de années 80, DURAN DURAN revient en force avec un nouveau single intitulé Invisible. On y retrouve la participation de Graham Coxon (Blur) à la guitare, de Mike Garson (David Bowie) au clavier et de la chanteuse suédoise Lykke Li.
The Reflex, Hungry like the Wolf, Girls on Film, Save A Prayer, Notorious, Come Undone, Ordinary World, A View To A Kill… nombreuses sont leurs singles de succès à travers les 4 décennies d’activité et leur fan base impressionnante est toujours aussi fidèle.
Invisible estle premier extrait de Future Past, le 15e album du groupe de new wave prévu pour le 22 octobre 2021. D’autres collaborations de prestige sont déjà annoncées pour cet album, notamment Mark Ronson et Giorgio Moroder.
Les britanniques sont bien connus pour leur vidéo clips toujours innovants, donc pas étonnant qu’Invisible est accompagné par vidéoclip impressionnant créé entièrement par une Intelligence Artificielle, qui s’appelle Huxley. Un rêveur unique dont « l’esprit » a été modélisé après les processus cognitives et émotionnels des humains.
Le claviériste Nick Rhodes a déclaré dans un communiqué :
« L’architecture sonique a toujours été très importante pour Duran Duran. Je pense qu’avec Invisible, nous avons réussi à sculpter notre oeuvre comme nous le voulions. Ce morceau a un son assez inhabituel. Je pense que quand tu mélanges tous les instruments ensemble, cela donne un résultat jamais entendu »
Le chanteur Simon Le Bon a déclaré à propos du processus créatif de l’album :
« J’ai tenté de persuader les gars que nous avions besoin d’écrire deux ou trois morceaux pour un EP. Quatre jours plus tard, avec la base de travail de plus de 25 morceaux en boîte, qui méritaient tous d’être exploités, je me suis rendu compte que ça nous prendrait plus de temps, mais c’était avant le Covid » confie Simon Le Bon, le mythique chanteur de la formation : « Ce n’est pas pour dire que c’est épique… mais en fait si ».

Fan fidèle j’espère qu’on aura l’occasion de les voir bientôt sur scène avec la tournée pour ce nouvel album. En France, ils n’ont pas joué depuis 2012.
CHLOE TRUJILLO – Corporations (M&O Music)
L’artiste aux multiples facettes nous l’avait promis – un single par mois jusqu’à la sortie de son album Mothers of a New Nation, le 01 octobre 2021. Voilà donc Corporations avec son message très clair : Technologie ou Humanité – La science-fiction devenue réelle.
BRKN LOVE – Allergic
Le groupe de Toronto BRKN LOVE a passé l’année dernière à travailler d’arrache-pied dans son studio pour préparer la suite de son premier album éponyme sorti en 2020. Le groupe est ravi de partager avec ses fans un cadeau spécial avant leur deuxième album, avec une reprise de Post Malone Allergic de l’album multi-genre Hollywood’s Bleeding.
K. FLAY – Four Letter Words
K. FLAY, une jeune fille particulièrement malpolie, mais que l’on l’adore déjà… un peu comme notre meilleure copine ou notre p’tite sœur.
Sa voix est forte et sincère, sa musique est une fusion bouillonnante de l’électro, rap et rock.
Originaire de l’Illinois, K.Flay, de son vrai nom Kristine Flaherty, a commencé à rapper et à écrire des chansons sur un coup de tête pendant ses études à l’université de Stanford. Elle a rapidement commencé à publier ses mixtapes autoproduites qui lui permettront de finalement décrocher un contrat avec une major.
Sorti en 2017, Every Where Is Some Where, son premier album, lui vaut 2 nominations aux Grammy Awards dans les catégories Meilleure chanson rock (pour “Blood in the Cut“) et Meilleur album non classique. Dans le même temps elle se retrouve en première partie de la tournée d’Imagine Dragons.
Sa sensibilité à la diversité des genres, lui permet de collaborer avec beaucoup de monde, de Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park) à Louis the Child en passant par des groupes skate-punk comme FIDLAR et Dune Rats. Heureusement, le fait de flirter avec des horizons aussi divers ne l’empêche de garder sa propre marque de fabrique basée sur des compétences d’autrice indéniables. Elle attribue sa passion pour l’écriture de ses textes à son amour inné pour le langage et des infinies possibilités que celui-ci offre.
Sur son EP Inside Voices – premier volet d’un projet en deux parties -, K.FLay revendique une liberté totale dans tous les aspects du processus créatif. Sorte de glorieux cri primal, le résultat est aussi exaltant qu’explosif, et surtout, follement éclairant. Là-dessus aucun doute K. Flay est libre !
Réalisé en collaboration avec Tom Morello & Travis Barker, INSIDE VOICES montre tout son talent créatif et polyvalent ainsi que son évolution musicale indéniable.
JJ WILDE – Off The Rails
Vous vous souvenez de la belle rockeuse canadienne JJ WILDE ? Et bien, elle vient de remporter le Juno Award du Meilleur Album Rock pour l’année 2020 pour son album explosif Ruthless. Félicitations !!!
Les Juno Awards sont l’équivalent canadien des Victoires de la Musique ou des Grammy Awards et ils sont décernés chaque année par la Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) aux musiciens canadiens.
JJ vient de sortir en digital un EP intitulé Wilde. On y retrouve son nouveau single Off The Rails et une reprise de Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around en duo avec Brett Emmons de The Glorious Sons.
Elle a aussi annoncé une série de concerts en Amérique du Nord et une tournée européenne devrait bientôt prendre forme avec, bien sûr, des dates en France !

CANCRE- LA TÊTE AU CIEL
Quelques mois après la sortie de leur 1er EP Face Au Vent, le groupe breton CANCRE revient avec La Tête Au Ciel, un nouveau morceau combinant le rock et chanson française. Avec ses guitares envoûtantes La Tête Au Ciel est un titre poétique qui nous embarque dans un road trip, l’esprit libre et des souvenirs plein la tête.
Les images du réalisateur Victor Thomas donnent vie à ce road trip : à la manière d’un journal de bord d’un voyage entre amis. Ces séquences nous offrent une aventure spontanée, riche de surprises, d’émerveillement mais aussi de réactions authentiques.
Formé par deux frangins, Mathias et Robin, et un ami d’enfance, Klet, CANCRE voit le jour lorsque le power trio découvre un recueil de poèmes poignant, rédigés par l’arrière-grand-père dans les tranchées pendant la Première Guerre mondiale. Y voyant un incroyable écho aux bouleversements actuels, l’idée de le mettre en Musique devient une évidence. Abandonnant l’anglais pour se lancer pour la 1ère fois sur des chansons en français, le trio conserve cependant son esthétique rock singulière. A découvrir sans attendre !
VOLA – These Black Claws (Feat. SHAHMEN)
Le quatuor dano-suédois VOLA revient avec un nouvel album studio intitulé Witness le 21 mai, sorti chez Mascot Records.
VOLA a écrit les chansons après le retour de leur tournée 2019 qui a connu un grand succès à travers l’Europe avec beaucoup de concerts joués à guichets fermés.
Witness met en lumière le sujet des relations ratées, à l’échelle de la société – les frictions entre les dirigeants et les adeptes, qui sont causées par l’abus de pouvoir. « Si je zoome », dit le guitariste-chanteur Asger Mygind. « L’échec est né de l’amour non partagé, du chagrin, du comportement manipulateur et de l’insécurité. En le reliant au titre de l’album, on pourrait voir les personnages dépeints dans les paroles comme des témoins de la dissolution du lien qu’ils ont créé avec les gens dans leur vie »
L’album a été produit par le groupe et il a été mixé et masterisé par Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, The Black Dahlia Murder, Amaranthe).
Chaque chanson présente ses personnages uniques, certains sont fictifs et des événements réels en inspirent certains. 24 Light-Years suit quelqu’un à la recherche d’un parent disparu – sont-ils perdus / morts ? Freak plonge dans l’insécurité et le pouvoir, Napalm, représente une relation ratée et les remords et les regrets qui s’ensuivent, tandis que Stone Leader Falling Down, met en évidence l’intimidation et l’abus de pouvoir et Inside Your Fur, explore les maux de la nostalgie.
Découvrez These Black Claws une collaboration avec le duo électro/ hip-hop, SHAHMEN. La chanson est une métaphore sur la dépendance et de l’expérience de plonger dans les ténèbres.

Four years after the release of their latest album Jump On Board number #1 in the charts in France, the legendary Scottish band TEXAS were back on May 28 with Hi, their tenth studio album. Through 14 new groovy and very effective tracks, the band with more than 40 million albums sold mix all the ingredients that have made it great: the rock, soul, pop and Motown sound and of course the magnificent voice of the emblematic singer Sharleen Spiteri.
In 2018, the singer and the bassist Johnny McElhone found some demos from the original White on Blonde sessions that they had forgotten existed. Initially, they thought that these uncovered gems could be released as a “lost” album, but listening to the tracks made them want to write new songs.
Three of the songs were written during the lockdown, in Scotland, Wales, Los Angeles and Sweden.
The collaboration with the Wu-Tang Clan gave the excellent title HI (we hear rather High !!!) Other collaborations include Dark Fire, written with Richard Hawley, a charming track that recalls the spirit of a high school prom slow, while Look What You’ve Done is an intoxicating duet where Sharleen exchanges verses with Clare Grogan (Altered Images). Mr Haze is a Motown track imbued with soul, led by a sample of Donna Summer, while another highlight of the album is the beautiful unbelievable piano. Moonstar reveals beautiful country vibes, explosive guitars and masterful harmonica solos. After thirty years of career this new album shows that TEXAS is still at the top.
No Money Kids –No Matter
Born from a meeting between two musicians from the Parisian suburbs, the tandem No Money Kids compose dizzying ballads and garage anthems and make coexist with great skill blues and electronics, vibrant rock and indie-pop, vintage and modernity.
After 2 singles: Crossroad and Why I’m so cold which caught all our attention, Félix Matschulat (Guitar-vocals) and JM Paletan (Bass-drums-electronics) are back with No Matter a new track from their upcoming album Factory.
The single No Matter borrows the voice of a worker worn out by hard work and deprived of daylight during his long days at the factory. Strength and sweetness clash throughout the piece, the contemplative verses confront the hoarse and electric choruses, the rock melancholy coexists with vivid and dazzling electronic arrangements, evolving over the dreams of a man on the breach.
A short story of the band: their first album I don’t trust you was released by Roy Music in October 2015, recorded, mixed and mastered by JM Pelatan (Bass-drums-electronics). They will keep this do-it-yourself process for all their future productions Hear the Silence released in 2017 and Trouble in 2018. In parallel, the chiaroscuro imagery developed by the group seduced the fashion world (Schwarzkopf, Stylist, Glamour, Modzik fashion shows) and inspired the first clips with international directors.
In 2016, the duo is spotted by the high-end of ready-to-wear clothing, designated “discovery” group of the Cotélac brand with the creation of a promotional EP, 15,000 copies distributed free of charge in more than 110 shops in France and abroad.

Accustomed to composing on the road, on the spot or between two tours, lockdown and immobility will drastically change their relationship to time and creation. Thus, the album Factory will soak up the isolated atmosphere of the factory, composed in the intimacy of confinement and planned for the end of 2021. We will have the opportunity to see them on stage this summer.

ZEAL & ARDOR – Run
Zeal & Ardor offers us a first clue about their future third album which will follow the excellent Stranger Fruit released on the MVKA label in 2018.
Manuel Gagneux, the frontman of the band and his acolytes have taken advantage of the last 18 months to channel their energy and immense creativity to write new tracks.
These Swiss alchemists capable of transforming black metal into blues have already put online last October, completely autonomously, Wake Of A Nation, an EP of 6 titles quite striking.
RUN is the fore-taste of a new album that promises to be very intense. Manuel Gagneux explains: “Run is the first track we took from our self-title album because, although it certainly contains familiar elements, it also sets the tone for things to come. It’s definitely one of our most aggressive songs to date, but it’s just the vanguard of what awaits you…. Run while you still have time… »

Quinn Sullivan – In A World Without You
Talented singer, songwriter and guitarist, Quinn Sullivan has just released on June 4th his fourth album Wide Awake produced by Oliver Leiber (Aretha Franklin, Rod Stewart, Paula Abdul…) At only 22 years old, the American has already toured the world and performed in the biggest venues: Madison Square Garden, the Hollywood Bowl and RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. as well as in festivals the India Mahindra Blues Festival, Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival, and three Montreux Jazz Festivals.
Falling in love with the guitar when he was only 5 years old, he played on stage with his hero and mentor Buddy Guy, as well as with Carlos Santana on several occasions. HANGMAN’S CHAIR – Cold & Distant
HANGMAN’S CHAIR announces the signing of a global deal with the prestigious German label Nuclear Blast Records by launching a new track and a music video. This magnificent first song is accompanied by a video illustrating a slow hike in the woods.
The video features actress Béatrice Dalle facing our own torments. A role that fits her like a glove… With an approach as unique as it is rebellious, the four Parisian musicians are determined to leave their mark on this genre that is commonly called “Doom Metal”.

These first 5 minutes already give a glimpse of what the future album has in store for us. The different faces that Béatrice Dalle shows throughout the video, confirm how much she took on the role and felt the strength of the text, as if this song had been made for her.
Formed in 2005 in Paris, HANGMAN’S CHAIR has gradually developed a unique sound that gives the band a special place on the current Doom Rock scene. Their first self-titled album has just celebrated 40 years and here they are, the mythical 80s band, DURAN DURAN comes back in force with a new single entitled Invisible. It features Graham Coxon (Blur) on guitar, Mike Garson (David Bowie) on keyboards and Swedish singer Lykke Li.
The Reflex, Hungry like the Wolf, Girls on Film, Save A Prayer, Notorious, Come Undone, Ordinary World, A View To A Kill many are their awesome hits through the 4 decades of activity and their impressive fan base is still as loyal as ever.
Invisible is the first single from Future Past, the new wave band’s 15th album scheduled for October 22, 2021. Other prestigious collaborations have already been announced for this album, including Mark Ronson and Giorgio Moroder.
The British are well known for their always innovative video clips, so no wonder that Invisible is accompanied by an impressive music video created entirely by an Artificial Intelligence, called Huxley. A unique dreamer whose “mind” has been modeled after the cognitive and emotional processes of humans.
“Sonic architecture has always been incredibly important to Duran Duran,” co-founder and keyboardist Nick Rhodes said. “I think, with ‘Invisible,’ we really have managed to carve the sculpture the way we wanted it. Sonically, it’s a very unusual piece of music. I think when you merge all the instruments together, it creates an overall sound that perhaps you haven’t heard before.”
“When we first went into the studio in late 2018, I was trying to persuade the guys that all we needed to do was write two or three tracks for an EP,” lead singer Simon Le Bon said. “Four days later, with the nucleus of 25-plus strong songs in the can, that all deserved development, I realized we’d be in it for the long haul, but that was before Covid. So here we are in 2021 with our 15th studio album, Future Past, straining at the leash.

Toronto-based band BRKN LOVE spent the past year working hard in their studio to prepare the sequel to their self-titled debut album released in 2020. The band is delighted to share with their fans a special gift before their second album, with a cover of Post Malone Allergic from the multi-genre album Hollywood’s Bleeding.
K. FLAY – Four Letter Words
K. FLAY, a particularly rude girl, but that we already adore her… a bit like our best girlfriend or our little sister. Her voice is strong and honest, her music is a bubbling fusion of electro, rap and rock. Originally from Illinois, K.Flay, real name Kristine Flaherty, began rapping and writing songs on a whim while studying at Stanford University. She quickly began releasing her self-produced mixtapes that would eventually land a contract with a major.
Released in 2017, Every Where Is Some Where, her debut album, earned her 2 Grammy Nominations in the categories Best Rock Song (for “Blood in the Cut“) and Best Non-Classical Album. At the same time, she found herself opening for Imagine Dragons on their tour.
Her sensitivity to the diversity of genres, allows her to collaborate with many people, from Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park) to Louis the Child through skate-punk bands such as FIDLAR and Dune Rats. Fortunately, flirting with such diverse backgrounds does not prevent her from keeping her own trademark based on undeniable author skills. She attributes her passion for writing her texts to her innate love for language and the infinite possibilities it offers.
On her EP Inside Voices – out now, the first part of a two-part project – K.FLay claims total freedom in all aspects of the creative process. A kind of glorious primal cry, the result is as exhilarating as it is explosive, and above all, wildly illuminating. There is no doubt about this K. Flay is free! JJ WILDE – Off The Rails
Do you remember the beautiful Canadian rocker JJ WILDE? Well, she just won the Juno Award for Best Rock Album for the year 2020 for her explosive album Ruthless. Congratulations!!!
The Juno Awards are the Canadian equivalent of the Victoires de la Musique or Grammy Awards and are presented annually by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) to Canadian musicians. JJ has just released a digital EP entitled Wilde. It features his new single Off The Rails and a cover of Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around as a duet with Brett Emmons of The Glorious Sons.
She also announced a series of concerts in North America and a European tour should be announced soon and of course, dates in France! We also remember his very noticed passage in Taratata.

CANCRE- LA TÊTE AU CIEL
A few months after the release of their 1st EP Face Au Vent, the Breton band CANCRE are back with La Tête Au Ciel, a new song blending as usual rock and French song. With mesmerising guitars La Tête Au Ciel is a poetic song that embarks us on a road trip, free spirit and memories full of head.
The images of the director Victor Thomas give life to this road trip: in the manner of a logbook of a trip with friends. These sequences offer us a spontaneous adventure, rich in surprises, wonder but also authentic reactions.
Formed by two brothers, Mathias and Robin, and a childhood friend, Klet, CANCRE was born when the power trio discovered a poignant collection of poems, written by the great-grandfather in the trenches during the First World War. Seeing it as an incredible echo of the current upheavals, the idea of putting it to music becomes obvious. Abandoning English to launch for the 1st time on songs in French, the trio nevertheless retains its singular rock aesthetic. To discover without delay!
VOLA – These Black Claws (Feat. SHAHMEN)
The genre-welding Danish-Swedish quartet VOLA returns with a new studio album entitled Witness on May 21, released by Mascot Records.
VOLA wrote the songs after returning from their 2019 tour which was a great success across Europe with many sold-out concerts.
Witness highlights the topic of failed, society-wide relationships – frictions between leaders and followers, which are caused by the abuse of power.
“If I zoom in,” guitarist-singer Asger Mygind says. “The failure is born from unrequited love, grief, manipulative behavior and insecurity. Connecting it with the album title, one could view the characters portrayed in the lyrics as being witnesses to the dissolution of the bond they have created with people in their lives.”
The album was produced by the band and it was mixed and mastered by the Grammy nominated Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, The Black Dahlia Murder, Amaranthe). Each song presents its unique characters, some are fictional, and real events inspire some. “24 Light-Years,” follows someone searching for a vanished relative – are they lost/dead? How deep does the story dive? “Freak” delves into insecurity and power,Napalm,” represents a failed relationship and the remorse and regret that follows, whilst “Stone Leader Falling Down,” highlights bullying and the misuse of power and “Inside Your Fur,” explores the ills of nostalgia.
