Après deux éditions consécutives reportées à cause de la pandémie de Covid-19, on va essayer de profiter au maximum : voir les plus grands groupes du mondes : Ghost, Judas Priest, Gojira (unique date en festival européen, Airbourne, Megadeth, Scorpions, Wardruna (avec un show spécialement monté pour l’occasion), Helloween (au grand complet), Rise Against, Nine Inch Nails (pour une prestation unique en Europe), Ministry, Alice Cooper, Guns N’Roses (pour la 1ère fois à Clisson avec Axl, Slash et Duff), Nightwish, Black Label Society, Avatar, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Mercyful Fate, et bien sûr Metallica qui clôturera en beauté ces 7 jours de folie…et aussi découvrir des nouveaux artistes.
Il ya aura donc du métal de tous les types et tous le sous-genres (death, black, heavy, power, trash, etc etc) mais aussi du rock, du folk, du punk et on devrait slalomer entres les 5 scènes du festival MAINSTAGE 1, MAINSTAGE 2, WARZONE, ALTAR, VALLEY, TEMPLE. Prévoyez donc de bonnes chaussures !

Ego Kill Talent – 17 juin (MAINSTAGE 2)
L’un des groupes rock les plus prometteurs à l’heure actuelle. Originaire de São Paulo et formé en 2014 par 5 jeunes et talentueux musiciens, leur dernier album est sorti en 2020, The Dance Between Extremes. Difficile de lui mettre une étiquette, leur musique est l’excellent résultat d’un mélange des styles pop, rock et grunge et pas seulement. Une autre particularité ? Ils sont connus pour échanger d’instruments parmi les membres d’une chanson à l’autre, en studio et mais aussi sur scène, désireux de montrer leurs prouesses et maitrise musicale.
GHOST -18 juin (Mainstage 2)
Ces dernières années, la popularité du groupe suédois GHOST n’a fait qu’accroitre en France at dans le monde entier. Mené par l’excentrique et charismatique Tobias Forge, alias Papa Emeritus IV, les scandinaves savent cultiver la différence et l’originalité. Mélanger le métal, le hard rock avec les mélodies pop accrocheuses, le rock psychédélique et les métaphores pour créer une musique accessible à un cercle beaucoup plus élargie que les fans de métal. Associés à une théâtralité puissante, des histoires, des costumes et des masques, des symboles sataniques et des décors spectaculaires, ils ont créé un univers ténébreux un brin kitsch qui séduit de plus en plus de fans. Le show sera éblouissant ! Et suivi par un feu d’artifices !
STENGAH – 19 juin (MAINSTAGE 2)
Dans ce monde en plein chaos, la découverte de musiques exaltantes est plus vitale que jamais. L’arrivée de ce groupe non conformiste ne pouvait pas mieux tomber. En effet, le quintet a passé ses dernières années à évoluer et se doter des riffs les plus viscéraux et novateurs qu’on ait pu entendre.
Fondé par le batteur Eliott Williame, le groupe lillois est la première signature française du label Mascot Records avec l’album Soma Sema sorti en mars dernier. Véritable mélange sophistiqué et intelligent de rock progressif et de métal moderne extrême, STENGAH développe des sonoritésoriginales et accrocheuses et surtout très pointues. A découvrir sans attendre !
GOJIRA -19 Juin (Main stage 1)
GOJIRA est devenu le groupe français de death metal “le plus important de la décennie” selon Metal Hammer. Le groupe a obtenu la reconnaissance en jouant dans les plus grands festivals du monde et a réussi à conquérir les charts. Nommé deux fois aux Grammy Awards (2017) et enchaînant albums et tournées à succès : Gojira a conquis le monde entier !
Leur 7ème album, Fortitude, est un cri pour la planète, porteur d’un message écologiste et engagé qui a été salué bien au-delà de la presse spécialisée.
JUDAS PRIEST -19 juin (Main stage 2).
L’un des plus grands groupes de heavy metal Judas Priest fêtera son 50ème anniversaire sur la Mainstage de Hellfest.
Judas Priest, le groupe qui allait changer le visage du heavy metal, s’est formé en 1970 à Birmingham, en Angleterre. Durant les premières années de sa prolifique carrière, le groupe a pavé sa voie d’acier avec des classiques tels que “Sad Wings of Destiny” (1976), “Sin After Sin” (1977) et “Hell Bent for Leather” (1978), ainsi qu’avec le sublime album live : “Unleashed in the East” (1979).
Dans les années 80 Judas Priest a connu un succès phénoménal avec les albums “British Steel” (1980), “Point of Entry” (1981), “Screaming For Vengeance” (1982), “Defender of The Faith” (1984), “Painkiller” (1990, pour ne citer que les principaux.
Sorti en mars 2018, “Firepower”, leur dernier album studio en date, s’est classé Top 5 aux Etats-Unis et en Grande-Bretagne.
Le légendaire Rob Halford et sa bande nous offrira comme d’habitude une performance live inoubliable. Et il n’y a pas meilleur endroit que le Hellfest pour fêter ses noces d’or !
The Last Internationale – 23 juin (MAINSTAGE 2)
The Last Internationale ont acquis la réputation d’être des véritables boules d’énergie sur scène et ils l’ont confirmé largement le 25 février au 1999 à Paris avec un show éblouissant. Leur deuxième album Soul on Fire, fut un véritable coup de foudre et ce concert fut une grosse claque. Une voix hallucinante- Delila Paz, des riffs bruts et saturés – Edgey Pires, le duo new yorkais The Last Internationale perpétue la tradition des protest songs à travers un blues rock explosif et furieux et des textes puissants et engagés.
Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown – 23 juin (MAINSTAGE 2)
Aimez-vous le Blues Rock avec des guitares puissantes et délicieuses ? Du vrai rock classique avec une empreinte vintage et en même temps très moderne ? En bien le génie de la guitare, TYLER BRYANT et ses acolytes le batteur Caleb Crosby, le guitariste Graham Whitford enflamment vos esprits avec des riffs Rock N’Roll énergiques et précises et des grands refrains dignes de grands stades. PRESSURE, leur 4ème album sorti le 16 octobre 2020.
ZEAL & ARDOR – 23 juin (Temple)
Chant obsédant et caméléonesque : hurlé et démonique ou chaud et bluesy, folie instrumentale, ambiance brutale ou douce et envoutante, ZEAL & ARDOR est un projet ahurissant qui repose sur le tallent et l’imagination de Manuel Gagneux, l’homme qui aime les contrastes et surtout combiner tout ce qui est complémentaire.
En décidant de mélanger du blues, du gospel et de la soul à des musiques radicalement plus extrêmes comme le Black Metal, ce Américano-Suisse, s’est ouvert les portes d’un univers artistique où tout semble possible.
Simplement intitulé “Zeal & Ardor“, le superbe nouvel album est disponible depuis février 2022.
Helloween – 23 juin (Mainstage 2)
Fondé en 1984, le groupe de power metal allemand originaire de Hambourg, Helloween, a ravi ses fans grâce à de fantastiques riffs, d’excellents titres et des mélodies inoubliables. Leur album éponyme est sorti en Juin 2021.
Hangman’s Chair 23 juin – (Valley) & 26 juin Regarde les Hommes Tomber VS Hangman’s Chair
Au fil des années, HANGMAN’S CHAIR a trouvé et peaufiné leur propre vision sonore basée sur des riffs massifs, des rhythmiques lourdes et grinçantes, des thématiques sombres et des ambiances cinématographiques à couper le souffle. A Loner, c’est leur 6-ème album sorti le 11 février 2022 sur le label Nuclear Blast.
Les guitares épaisses et distordues, les riffs puissantes et efficaces avec des superbes effets de réverbération de Julien Chanut s’associent aux lignes de basse graves et grondantes de Clément Hanvic et à la batterie majestueuse et lourde de Mehdi Thépegnier, créant ainsi un magnifique support pour le chant hypnotique et poignant de Cédric Toufouti.
Il suffit de fermer les yeux et se l’laisser emporter par l’émotion et la mélancolie qui dégagent les sublimes crochets mélodiques et les paroles honnêtes et tourmentées.
En plus, ils réuniront leurs forces avec un autre excellent groupe français de black metal Regarde les Hommes Tomber, pour un concert qui s’annonce remarquable.
DIRTY SHIRT – 24 juin (Temple)
DIRTY SHIRT est L’un des groupes de métal les plus populaires et les plus diversifiés d’Europe de l’Est, le groupe roumain mélange avec maestria le métal, le hardcore, le metalcore, le rock industriel et alternatif avec des éléments du folklore traditionnel roumain.
Ils seront accompagnés à HELLFEST par TRANSYLVANIAN FOLKCORE ORCHESTRA et ses violons, flûtes, violoncelles, trompettes. Pas moins de 16 musiciens venus répandre la bonne humeur avec une générosité sans limites. Les rockers roumains savent faire la fête ! E o petrecere !

EXISTANCE – 25 juin ( Mainstage 2)
Des guitares superbes, des riffs épiques, un chant impressionnant, une rythmique puissante, le heavy métal glorieux de années 80s est mis à l’honneur avec le groupe français EXISTANCE. Dignes héritiers des monstres sacrés de métal comme Judas Priest, Accept ou Iron Maiden, le jeune quatuor perpétue l’esprit heavy metal d’autre fois, look 100 % authentique – vestes en cuir, clues et jeans – compris. Formé par Julian Izard (chant/guitare), Antoine Poiret (guitare), Julien Robilliard (basse) et Géry Carbonnelle (batterie), EXISTANCE représente avec fierté la nouvelle génération de la scène métal underground française. Leur album Wolf Attack est disponible depuis le 29 octobre 2021.
AYRON JONES – 25 juin (MAINSTAGE 1)
Chanteur, compositeur et guitariste phénoménal, sa musique est un mélange explosif de hard rock, de grunge, de blues et de soul, le musicien n’hésitant pas à s’aventurer même vers les territoires de la musique classique, folk ou pop. Ses influences sont multiples : Jimi Hendrix, son idole absolue, mais aussi Prince, Nirvana, Lenny Kravitz ou Michael Jackson … L’artiste américain vient de rajouter des nombreuses dates de concerts à sa tournée française 2022.
AVATAR – 26 juin (Main Stage 2)
En 2020, avec “Hunter Gatherer”, l’album le plus sombre que le groupe ait créé à ce jour, AVATAR a définitivement réussi à briser les frontières entre groupe de métal et troupe de théâtre, grâce à une approche définitivement cinématographique.
Contraint de reporter leur tournée en France, on aura enfin l’occasion tant attendue de les voir jouer ce fantastique album live sur scène. Costumes, maquillage, mise en scène et bien sûr leur excellent death métal mélodique, la formation suédoise nous mettra plein la vue avec un set endiablé et haut en couleurs.
Bring Me The Horizon – 26 juin (Mainstage 2)
Bring Me The Horizon, nominé aux Grammy Awards et ayant vendu plusieurs disques de platine, est l’un des groupes de rock les plus électrisants du Royaume-Uni.
Continuant à repousser les limites de leur créativité, même pendant le confinement, le groupe a créé une œuvre qui est sans doute l’un de leur album les plus brillants, passionnants, les plus divers et les plus complexes à ce jour POST HUMAN : SURVIVAL HORROR sorti le 30 octobre2021, album qui bénéficie également des invités de marque : YUNGBLUD, BABYMETAL, Nova Twins et Amy Lee d’Evanescence.

Hellbangers! Here we are! 7 days to go! RDV from 17 to 19 June, then from 23 to 26 June at HELLFEST in Clisson (Loire-Atlantique) France to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the biggest metal festival in Europe! 7 days of festival sold out! Never seen before! More than 350 bands coming from all over the world, France being well represented with about sixty bands. Hell is Back!
After two consecutive editions postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we will try to make the most of it: see the biggest bands in the world: Ghost, Judas Priest, Gojira (only date in European festival), Airbourne, Megadeth, Scorpions, Wardruna (with a show specially mounted for the occasion), Helloween (in full line up), Rise Against, Nine Inch Nails (for a unique performance in Europe), Ministry, Alice Cooper, Guns N’Roses (for the 1st time in Clisson with Axl, Slash and Duff), Nightwish, Black Label Society, Avatar, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Mercyful Fate, and of course Metallica which will close in style these 7 days of madness. Of course, don’t forget take the opportunity to discover new artists.
There will be metal with all these types and subgenres (death, black, heavy, thrash, power, etc) but also rock, folk, punk. It will be difficult to sort through all these names, and slalom between the 5 stages of the festival MAINSTAGE 1, MAINSTAGE 2, WARZONE, ALTAR, VALLEY, TEMPLE. Take your dancing shoes!

Ego Kill Talent – June 17 (MAINSTAGE 2)
One of the most promising rock bands at the moment. Originally from São Paulo and formed in 2014 by 5 young and talented musicians, their latest album was released in 2020, The Dance Between Extremes. Lately, the popularity of the Swedish band GHOST has only increased in France at worldwide. With the world in chaos, exhilarating new music has become more important than ever. As a result, the emergence of metal mavericks STENGAH could hardly be better timed. The quintet has spent the last few years in a state of perpetual evolution, armed with some of the most visceral and forward-thinking riffs and refrains in recent memory.

The Last Internationale – June 23 (MAINSTAGE 2)
The Last Internationale have earned a reputation for being real balls of energy on stage and they largely confirmed it on February 25, 2020 to 1999 in Paris with an amazing show. For me, their second album Soul on Fire, was a real love at first sight and this concert was a big slap. A mind-blowing voice – Delila Paz, raw and saturated riffs – Edgey Pires, the New York duo continues the tradition of protest songs through explosive and furious blues rock and powerful and committed lyrics.

DIRTY SHIRT is one of the most popular and diverse metal bands in Eastern Europe, the Romanian band masterfully mixes metal, hardcore, metalcore, industrial and alternative rock with elements of traditional Romanian folklore.
They will be accompanied at HELLFEST by TRANSYLVANIAN FOLKCORE ORCHESTRA and its violins, flutes, cellos, trumpets. No less than 16 musicians came to spread the good mood with boundless generosity. Romanian rockers know how to party! E o petrecere!

Singer, songwriter and phenomenal guitarist, his music is an explosive mix of hard rock, grunge, blues and soul, the musician not hesitating to venture even into the territories of classical, folk or pop music. Forced to postpone their tour in France, we will finally have the long-awaited opportunity to see them play this fantastic live album on stage. Costumes, makeup, staging and of course their excellent melodic death metal, the Swedish formation will amaze us with a frenzied and colourful set.
Bring Me The Horizon – 26 juin (Mainstage 2)
Nominated for a Grammy Award and having sold several platinum records, Bring Me The Horizon, is one of the most electrifying rock bands in the United Kingdom. Continuing to push the limits of their creativity, even during the lockdown, the band has created a work that is undoubtedly one of their brightest, most exciting, most diverse and complex albums to date POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR released on October 30, 2021, an album that also benefits distinguished guests: YUNGBLUD, BABYMETAL, Nova Twins and Amy Lee from Evanescence.
