EDITORS – Acoustic Show for RTL 2 at Hard Rock Café, Paris -13.03.2018

Le 13 Mars 2018, au Hard Rock Café à Paris, une poignée d’heureux invités étaient présents pour un concert très intimiste d’Editors.

Invité par RTL 2 Pop Rock Station by Zegut pour une l’émission en direct, le groupe britannique célébrait la sortie de leur 6 ème album Violence( review ici)

La soirée s’est déroulé en 2 parties – une première heure où l’animateur Francis Zegut est passé parmi l’audience en proposant de tirer des petits billets avec des chansons à diffuser à l’antenne dédicaces à l’appui.

On a eu donc le droit à une belle programmation : Depeche Mode, The Wombats, New Order, The Foals ou U2… Tandis que la deuxième partie a été consacrés aux Editors avec l’interview, la diffusion de deux chansons de leur playlist actuelle (The Blaze – Territory, Blue Nile – Tinseltown in the Rain) et un concert acoustique de 45 minutes.

Trois des cinq anglais présents – Tom Smith (chant, guitare, piano), Justin Lockey (guitare), Eliott Williams (guitare, piano), nous ont régalés avec un show acoustique toute en beauté – dix chansons magnifiques, en alternant des extraits du nouvel album, Violence, sorti chez PIAS le 9 mars 2018, avec leurs titres les plus connues comme Papillon, Munich ou A Ton of Love. Une excellente occasion de les découvrir autrement.

Une voix forte et grave, un piano et deux guitares ont suffis pour nous transporter dans leur univers sombre, mélancolique et puissant. Son pur et épuré. Sublime.

Editors performed a very intimate show at the Hard Rock Cafe, Paris, on 13^th of March 2018.

The British band was invited by RTL 2 Pop Rock Station by Zégut, for a live broadcast, on the occasion of the release of their 6th album Violence (review here)

A happy few were present to celebrate the event along with the host Francis Zégut and his team.

The lovely evening took place in 2 parts – a first hour with Zégut asking the audience to pick up small notes with songs to broadcast on-air: Depeche Mode, Wombats, New Order, The Foals or U2… While the second part was entirely dedicated to Editors : interview, 2 songs of their current playlist (The Blaze – Territory, Blue Nile – Tinseltown in the Rain) and an acoustic show of 45 minutes.

Three of the five band members – Tom Smith (vocals, guitar, piano), Justin Lockey (guitar), Eliott Williams (guitar, piano), gifted us with an awesome acoustic show – 10 beautiful songs, mixing tracks from the new album, Violence, released at PIAS on March 9, 2018 (review here) with their biggest hits as Papillon, A ton of love or Munich. An excellent opportunity to discover these amazing songs otherwise.

A strong, beautiful voice, a piano and two guitars were enough to carry us in their dark, melancholic and powerful universe. Clean and pure sound. Sublime.
