The Devil Has Landed last Tuesday at Accor Arena in Paris and with it, The Queens of the Stone Age more fabulous than ever. In front of an excited compact crowd, the Californian band delivered a more than 2 hours performance, one of their most insane and powerful gig, that I have ever seen.
The evening starts with Broncho, the American 4 pieces indie-rock band, who in spite of their efforts and a rather good catchy sound, they have hard times to involve the crowd, obviously saving its force for the Queens.
The Queens of the Stone Age, takes the stage at 21 h with the explosive “If I have a tail” and build a monster electrifying gig growing stronger and stronger with each track until the end “Dead”.
“We come from far away to dance, drink and fuck” said Josh Homme, the charismatic leader, not forgetting his statement about their steady love story with France.
The 5 stone rockers– the front man, Josh Homme, dandy cool rock in plaid shirt, clear and strong voice and the brilliants Troy Van Leeuwen – (guitar, keyboards), Dean Fertita (guitar, keyboards), Michael Shuman – (bass), Jon Theodore (drums) gave their best.
7 songs of the 7th album, Villains, incendiary The Way We Used to Do, the energetic Domesticated animals or Un-reborn Again or the classic ones My God Is The Sun, No One Knows, Little sister, Make it wit Chu, the new and the old QOTSA stuff sounds fantastic.
Light sticks hanging from the ceiling and planted all over the stage, an incredible power, the concert hall is trembling as never…the extreme heavy energetic raw sound and the stroboscopic dazzling lights are hallucinating.
The decibels wrapping up the audience. Everybody around is breathless and blew away. The restless crowd in the pit is raging, crowd surfing, jumping like crazy. – the infernal machine ride at extremely high speed.

The Devil Has Landed (Le diable a atterri) mardi dernier à l’Accor Arena à Paris, accompagné par le groupe American, The Queens of the Stone Age plus explosif que jamais. Devant une foule compacte, le quintet californien a livré une performance mémorable. Plus de 2 heures électrisantes, un de leurs concerts le plus fou et le plus puissant, que je n’ai jamais vu. Récit.
La soirée commence avec Broncho, le groupe rock- indé américain, qui en dépit de leurs efforts et un son plutôt bon et accrocheur, a du mal à chauffer la foule. Évidemment, tout le monde économise ses forces pour les QOTSA.
The Queens of the Stone Age arrive sur scène à 21 h et démarre à 100 à l’heure avec If I have a tail pour monter encore en puissance jusqu’au dernier titre Dead.
« We come from far away to dance, drink and fuck » (Nous venons de loin pour danser, boire et baiser) dit Josh Homme, le leader charismatique, sans oublier de mentionner son histoire d’amour avec la France qu’il veut garder intacte.
Les Stoner Rockers sont au meilleur de leur forme – le frontman, le nonchalant, Josh Homme, dandy rock cool en chemise à carreaux, voix claire et forte et les brillants Troy Van Leeuwen – (guitare, claviers), Dean Fertita (guitare), Michael Shuman – (basse), Jon Theodore (batterie) se donnent à fond.
Bâtons lumineux suspendus au plafond et plantés partout sur la scène, un son lourd, brut et dévastateur d’une force incroyable, la salle de concert tremble comme jamais… les lumières éblouissantes stroboscopiques sont hallucinantes.
7 chansons du 7ème album, Villains, les incendiaires The Way We Used to Do, Domesticated animals, Un-reborn Again ou les clasiques My God Is The Sun, No One Knows, Little sister, Make it wit Chu, le nouveau et le vieux sound de QOTSA est fantastique.
Le pouvoir des décibels enveloppe le public. Tout le monde autour est bluffé. La foule dans la fosse saute, se déchaine, crowd surfing… La machine infernale roule à une vitesse phénoménale.
En un mot – Monumental !
