C’était samedi, 2 juillet 2022, que la grande finale du Tremplin ROCK&FOLK RADIO saison 2 s’est déroulé au Petit Bain à Paris. Et on y était invités ! Retour sur une soirée 100% Rock N’Roll avec plus de 3 heures de concerts de folie !
Mais tout d’abord, c’est quoi exactement le Tremplin Rock & Folk Radio ? Eh bien, c’est un concours créé l’année dernière par Rock N’Folk Radio pour mettre en lumière la scène rock émergente française, une scène créative et très excitante qui a beaucoup souffert ces 2 dernières années.
Un coup de pouce à tous les groupes qui continuent à persévérer et à travailler d’arrachepied avec passion et détermination pour sortir de la musique et nous offrir des concerts inoubliables.
Après une sélection rigoureuse aux quatre coins de la France, il restait en finale 4 groupes qui se sont donc produits sur la scène de la péniche parisienne : SOvOX de Marseille, USS de Lille, Pales de Lyon et Gurl de Paris, auxquels s’est rejoint le groupe gagnant de l’année dernière, Cheap Teen.
Les règles du jeu de la soirée ont été les suivantes : chaque groupe a joué environ 30 minutes pour nous convaincre. Ensuite les votes du public par SMS ont été rajoutés aux votes d’un jury de professionnels de la musique, et à la fin, le gagnant a été annoncé.
Dans la salle, les familles et les amis étaient bien là pour soutenir chaleureusement chaque groupe, mais il y avait aussi des mordus de Rock et les amateurs des jolies découvertes, tous prêts à se défouler sur des riffs endiablés.
SOvOX, le trio de garage punk de Marseille (FR) – formé par Vicenzo (Batterie-Chant), Nathan (Guitare-Chant), Nassim (Basse) a démarré la soirée. Malheureusement, on arrive trop tard pour les voir mais pour vous faire une idée sur d’énergie de leur son rock punk – garage aux influences British écoutez Last Night.

USS (Underground Sky Sound) sont les suivants. Le duo originaire de Chauny – Hauts de France propose un pop – rock énergique teintéde psychédélisme. Guitare et Batterie, le duo développe des morceaux dynamiques et des mélodies légères, nostalgiques et très agréables. Philippe, le chanteur guitariste pose sa très belle voix claire sur des riffs efficaces et la rythmique sans faille apporté par Richard à la batterie. Chantés en français, les morceaux sont variées et plaisent au public pas encore très nombreux.

C’est le tour de PALES, le groupe post punk de Strasbourg de monter sur scène. Célia (chant), Antoine (guitare), Tako (batterie), Basile (basse) et David (guitare) nous propose un cocktail corsé alliant de l’indie rock anglais à du post-punk noisy garni de synthés pop.
Sur scène, la charismatique chanteuse nous ensorcelle avec sa voix puissante et sa présence hypnotique. Les deux guitares s’entremêlent, la rythmique se déchaine. L’alchimie de 5 membres de la bande fonctionne à merveille. Leurs morceaux sont captivants. Le son est bon et les lumières sur mesure. Le groupe nous embarque dans un univers passionnant. Très belle prestation. Coup de cœur !
Leur premier EP 5 titres sortira cette année et vous pouvez déjà entendre le single Beat it.

Et voilà, le dernier groupe en lice, GURL, qui prend la place sur scène. La salle est pleine. Visiblement beaucoup de fans sont venus soutenir le duo garage punk parisien.
Influencé par la nouvelle scène australienne (Skegss), le surf et le garage rock (Dinosaur Jr, Black Lips) et par la première vague punk (Buzzcocks), le groupe délivre un rock nerveux, des riffs entraînants et instinctifs. Alexis (chant et guitare) et Gabriel (Bass) nous offres des mélodies solaires et insouciantes qui suscitent le grand enthousiasme du public. Les premiers rangs pogotent joyeusement et chantent en cœur avec eux. Ambiance électrique et grandes ovations !

Pour clôturer la soirée, Cheap Teen, le groupe gagnant de la première saison du Tremplin nous offrira un concert explosif.
Le chanteur-guitariste est absolument stupéfiant : il bouge sans arrêt, très absorbé par sa guitare tout en criant sa colère dans le micro. Il descendra plusieurs fois dans la fosse pour quelques moments de folie entouré par un public qui le suis avec enthousiasme.
Ça tape super fort, un tourbillon de riffs frénétiques. D’une puissance remarquable, le concert ne va pas baisser l’énergie un seul instant. Le final du set sera d’une intensité incroyable. Le public (et le groupe) sortira complétement épuisée.

It was Saturday, July 2, 2022, that the big final of the ROCK& FOLK RADIO “Tremplin“(springboard) season 2 took place at the Petit Bain in Paris. And we were invited! Back on a 100% Rock N’ Roll evening with more than 3 hours of crazy concerts!
First of all, but what exactly is Tremplin Rock & Folk Radio? Well, it’s a contest created last year by Rock N’Folk Radio to highlight the emerging French rock scene, a creative and very exciting scene that has suffered a lot in the last 2 Covid years.
A boost to all the bands that continue to persevere and work hard with passion and determination to release music and offer us unforgettable concerts.
After a rigorous selection all over France, there were still 4 bands in the final and they performed on the stage of the lovely Parisian barge: SOvOX of Marseille, USS of Lille, PALES of Lyon and GURL of Paris, to which joined the last year winner, CHEAP TEEN.
The contest rules this evening were as follows: each band played about 30 minutes to convince us. Then the public’s votes by SMS were added to the votes of a jury of music professionals, and at the end, the winner was announced.
In the room, families and friends were there to warmly support each band, but there were also Rock fans and lovers of nice discoveries, all ready to let off steam on wild riffs.
SOvOX, the garage punk trio from Marseille (FR) – formed by Vicenzo (Drums-Vocals), Nathan (Guitar-Vocals), Nassim (Bass) started the evening. Unfortunately, we arrive too late to see them but to get an idea of the energy of their punk rock – garage with British influences, listen to Last Night.

USS (Underground Sky Sound) is following. The duo from Chauny – Hauts de France offers an energetic pop -rock tinged with psychedelia. Guitar and Drums, the duo develops dynamic tracks and light, nostalgic and very pleasant melodies. Philippe, the singer guitarist, puts his beautiful clear voice on effective riffs and the flawless rhythm brought by Richard to the drums. Performed in French, the songs are varied and appeal to the audience not yet very numerous.

It’s the turn of PALES, the post-punk band from Strasbourg to go on stage.
Célia (vocals), Antoine (guitar), Tako (drums), Basile (bass) and David (guitar) offer us a full-bodied cocktail combining English indie rock with noisy post-punk filled with pop synths. On stage, the charismatic singer mesmerised us with her powerful voice and hypnotic presence.
The two guitars intertwine, the rhythm is unleashed. The alchemy of 5 band members works wonderfully. Their songs are captivating. The sound is good and the lights beautiful.
The band transports us into an exciting universe. Very nice performance. My Favourite!
Their first 5-track EP will be released this year and you can already hear the single Beat it.

And that’s it, the last band in the running, GURL, takes the place on stage. The room is full. Obviously, a lot of fans came to support the Parisian garage punk duo.
Influenced by the new Australian surf scene (Skegss), and garage rock (Dinosaur Jr, Black Lips) and the first wave punk (Buzzcocks), the band delivers nervous rock, catchy and instinctive riffs.
Alexis (vocals and guitar) and Gabriel (Bass) offer us solar and carefree melodies that arouse the great enthusiasm of the public. The front rows happily poach and singalong with them.

To close the evening, CHEAP TEEN, the 2021 winners will perform an explosive concert.
The singer-guitarist is absolutely astounding: he moves non-stop, very absorbed by his guitar while shouting his anger in the microphone. He will descend several times into the pit for a few moments of madness surrounded by an audience that follows him with enthusiasm.
The sound hits super hard, a whirlwind of frenetic riffs. Of remarkable power, the concert will not lower the energy for a single moment.
The final of the set will be incredibly intense. The audience (and the band) will come out completely exhausted.
It’s past 11pm and the time to know the winner… it’s GURL – a well-deserved victory!
Even if for us, the big crush is for PALES!
Congratulations to GURL and its runners-up (in order of ranking) Pales, USS, and SOvOX. 4 French bands with a promising future to discover immediately.
BRAVO to the 5 bands who offered us a huge dose of joy and rock’n’roll but also to Rock& Folk Radio for the remarkable support to the emerging French rock scene.
