Formé à Atlanta, en Géorgie, par le chanteur et guitariste Josh Fore, la lead guitariste Diamond Rowe, le bassiste Ryan Lerner et le batteur Ruben Limas, TETRARCH est l’étoile montante, LA sensation actuelle dans le monde du métal.

J’ai eu l’immense plaisir de discuter via Skype avec la jeune et talentueuse guitariste Diamond Rowe qui a franchi une étape importante dans sa jeune carrière, devenant la première guitariste de metal afro-américaine à figurer dans de grandes publications de spécialité comme Guitar World, Guitar Player et Metal Hammer !!!
On a parlé du groupe, de l’album, de sa passion pour la guitare et pour la pêche, de son impressionnante collection de T-shirts et de plein d’autre choses.

Comment vas-tu et où es-tu en ce moment ?
Diamond : Je vais très bien, je suis à Los Angeles dans mon appartement.
Comment va la vie à Los Angeles en ce moment ?
Diamond : ça se passe bien. Ça s’améliore. Tout commence à réouvrir petit à petit. Espérons que tout va revenir à la normale bientôt.
Avant de commencer notre discussion, je voulais te dire FELICITATIONS pour le nouvel album ! C’est tout simplement énorme !
Diamond : Merci beaucoup !
Parlons donc de vos débuts. C’est toi qui a commencé TETRARCH avec Josh, peux-tu me dire comment les choses se sont déroulés ?
Diamond : Oui, c’est vrai. En fait, on était à l’école ensemble. J’ai commencé à cette école en 7e donc quand j’avais 12 ans et en même temps, j’essayais d’entrer dans le rock. Nous étions dans une très petite école privée où vous connaissez tout le monde. Alors, je savais qui était dans ce genre de musique. Je savais que Josh jouait à la guitare, alors j’ai essayé de le rencontrer et voir si on peut jouer ensemble ou créer un groupe, quelque chose comme ça. Il jouait déjà avec un ami qui faisait de la batterie. Et en fait, quand j’ai demandé si je pouvais jouer avec eux, Josh a dit non… parce que j’étais une fille …
Donc, j’étais super triste pendant quelques jours et puis, il a changé d’avis. Donc, j’ai commencé à jouer avec eux. Le reste, c’est de l’histoire. On a commencé doucement à se construire à partir de là. On a joué beaucoup dans de concerts style « jeunes talents », et puis beaucoup sur la scène locale. En gros, on n’a pas sauté une seule étape. Ryan et Ruben sont arrivés ensuite et ça a été un long voyage jusqu’à là.
J’adore Kirk Hammett, Dimebag et Slash, ils m’ont donné l’envie de prendre une guitare et de jouer pour gagner ma vie.
Diamond Rowe
Vous avez commencé à Atlanta en Géorgie, puis vous avez déménagé à L.A. Il y avait plus d’opportunités à Los Angeles ?
Diamond : C’était plus pratique. A Los Angeles, il y a tous les labels, tous les agences de promotion. Tout ce que vous voulez se trouve ici. C’était juste plus facile d’être proche de tout. On est aussi sorti de notre zone de confort. Ça nous a donné un coup de pouce et plus de l’énergie pour être en mesure de devenir meilleurs. C’était très utile pour nous. On a beaucoup joué sur les petites scènes locales à Atlanta, mais nous étions une sorte de outsiders. Nous n’avons jamais été très bien acceptés. Je ne parle pas de fans mais des autres groupes. Il n’y avait rien qui pouvez nous gardez là-bas.On a pensé que ça sera mieux pour notre carrière de venir à Los Angeles et ça nous a vraiment aidés.
Si on google TETRARCH, on trouve 2 définitions… L’une décrit un char britannique utilisé de la Seconde Guerre mondiale…
Diamond : Oui, tu as raison c’est un char, mais en fait, pour le nom de notre groupe on s’est inspiré de la définition de l’Empire romain gouverné par quatre personnes, le 4 co-empereurs et comme nous sommes quatre dans le groupe, ça nous va bien.
On voulait faire un album qui était angoissant et accrocheur, avec des éléments très heavy. Un album de métal mainstream. On se considère comme un groupe de crossover métal et on savait exactement ce qu’on voulait accomplir.
Diamond Rowe
Unstable sortira le 30 avril comment l’avez-vous construit ? Le Covid a-t-il eu un impact sur la création de l’album ?
Diamond : On a commencé à écrire Unstable au tout début de l’année 2019. On a commencé à enregistrer en octobre 2019 et on a terminé en février 2020. Donc, tout a été fait avant que la pandémie frappe. Toute la musique était finie, on devrait juste décider comment sortir les singles, faire la promo, etc. Mais ce qui n’a pas été bon, c’était le fait de ne pas pouvoir partir en tournée.
Quant à la création de l’album, quand on s’est réunis on savait déjà ce qu’on voulait. On voulait faire un album qui était angoissant et accrocheur, avec des éléments très heavy. Un album de métal mainstream. On se considère comme un groupe de crossover métal et on savait exactement ce qu’on voulait accomplir. Et on s’est donné le temps. On n’a pas dit ok, on finit d’enregistrer cet album en studio dans 3 semaines. On s’est dit plutôt : nous allons rester en studio aussi longtemps que nous avons besoin de rester pour s’assurer que nous en tirons de cet album ce que nous voulons. C’était une expérience d’écriture vraiment cool.
En faisant mes recherches sur vous, j’ai remarqué que tout le monde parle de vous comme d’un groupe de nu metal revival. Qu’est-ce que tu en penses ?
Diamond : Franchement peu importe comment les gens nous appellent. Je veux dire, c’est sûr que s’ils veulent dire qu’on ramène le renouveau dans le nu metal ou autre chose, c’est ok pour nous. On n’a pas envie de nous mettre dans une boîte. C’est sûr qu’on a beaucoup d’influences de nu-metal mais on a aussi beaucoup d’influences modern metal, d’influences hard rock ou metalcore. Mais si quelqu’un veut dire que nous menons ce nu-metal revival, on est d’accord avec cela. Tant qu’ils parlent de nous, c’est ok !
Donc, en parlant de ça, quel genre de musique vous écoutez dans le groupe ?
Diamond : Notre batteur Ruben et moi, nous sommes dans le plus heavy, on écoute des groupes comme Gojira, Slipknot, plus c’est heavy plus on aime. Josh et Ryan sont un peu plus du côté du rock. Josh a grandi avec beaucoup de groupes comme Pearl Jam, U2 et Green Day. Il est plus dans la mélodie, la simplicité. Et c’est la même chose avec Ryan qui aiment des groupes comme Muse et Nothing More. On est complémentaires.
Qu’est-ce qui vous inspire pour écrire une chanson : un riff, une mélodie, un sujet ?
Diamond : ça peut être n’importe quoi. Parfois Josh ou moi avons un riff, parfois l’un de nous a une idée de texte ou d’un sujet. Et parfois l’un de nous a toute la chanson et on la fait écouter à l’autre pour voir si elle a du potentiel. Une fois que nous l’avons que nous l’emmenons à Ryan et Ruben qui mets leur empreinte dessous et ça devient du TETRARCH.
C’est un album plein d’angoisse et d’émotion, puissant et très énervé et vous l’avez appelé Unstable. Est-ce que tu considères que c’est la chanson la plus représentative de l’album ?
Diamond : On avait plusieurs noms différents au début. Comme par exemple, Negative Noise. Mais après avoir écrit la chanson Unstable et lui avoir donné un titre et une fois qu’on a réuni toutes les chansons, on a pensé que rien ne correspond mieux au thème de cet album que Unstable. C’était le nom parfait pour l’ensemble de l’œuvre.
La chanson dont tu es la plus fière ?
Diamond : Ils sont tous comme nos bébés, on les aime toutes. Mais pour moi, I’m not Right, c’est la chanson que j’aime le plus parce que je trouve que le refrain est littéralement sorti exactement comme je l’imaginais depuis le début. C’est la chanson que j’écoute le plus pour mon plaisir personnel. Probablement, celle qui représente l’album vraiment bien dans la mesure où on retrouve ce refrain énorme, ces éléments heavy et un peu effrayants aussi.
J’ai toujours une question sur ma ou mes chansons préfères de l’album et là j’avoue c’était très difficile de choisir car je les aime toutes. Je vais quand me choisir Negative Noise. Que pourrais-tu me dire sur cette chanson ?
Diamond : C’est certainement l’une des chansons les plus heavy de l’album, on vient de filmer la vidéo. C’est super cool. On en est super fiers.
Et Addicted?
Diamond: Addicted est cool aussi. C’est une sorte de joyau caché qu’on a écrit et cette chanson a fini par être la préférée de beaucoup de gens, même si on ne s’attendait pas. Il a une ambiance très cool dans ce morceau. Josh a eu une bonne inspiration pour écrire ce refrain qui parle du fait d’être addictif à cette vie ; celle que nous menons et le fait que nous ne voulions rien faire d’autre.
Je vais te féliciter encore une fois d’abord parce que Josh et toi, vous êtes parmi les 10 meilleurs guitaristes de métal dans le Music Radar Chart. Et en plus toi Diamond, tu es la première femme afro-américaine guitariste de métal dont on parle dans des magazines très connus. C’est un grand accomplissement pour de jeunes gens talentueux comme vous. Qu’est-ce que tu en penses ?
Diamond : C’est assez fou. Nous sommes juste des enfants qui ont commencé à jouer parce qu’on était passionnés. Nous adorons ce que nous faisons. J’adore Kirk Hammett, Dimebag et Slash, ils m’ont donné l’envie de jouer, de prendre une guitare et de jouer pour gagner ma vie. C’est toujours incroyable de voir que ce vous faites a de l’impact et les gens voient que vous faites quelque chose que vous aimez vraiment. J’ai tellement de gratitude pour tout le monde qui nous aidé à en arriver là. C’est incroyable.
En général, quand je discute avec les filles qui sont dans le rock ou le métal, elles disent qu’il n’est pas toujours facile pour une fille de faire partie de ce monde, d’obtenir toute l’attention ou d’être prise au sérieux. Elles doivent toujours travailler plus que les hommes pour être reconnues. J’ai l’impression que tu es très à l’aise dans le monde du métal.
Diamond : Honnêtement, ce n’était pas très difficile pour moi. Je sais que chacun a vécu une expérience différente, mais quand on a commencé, je n’ai pas prêté attention à cela … J’imagine que les gens parlaient du fait que j’étais différente, mais j’étais tellement concentré sur notre groupe et je voulais devenir la meilleure guitariste que je pouvais et je crois que les gens ont tout naturellement compris. Ce qui était vraiment cool. C’était un voyage assez cool et tranquille pour moi. Je me suis toujours senti à l’aise.
Les gens me font toujours me sentir bien et l’environnement est bien… peut-être une ou deux fois je me suis sentie comme si je n’étais pas ma place mais c’était à nos débuts, mais maintenant c’est ok.
Je ne ressens rien qui me met mal à l’aise. Ce fut un voyage assez facile jusqu’à présent pour moi et je me dis que c’est peut-être une bénédiction d’être différente. L’intérêt pour Tetrarch pourrait être différent si je ressemblais à tout le monde dans le groupe. Ça nous aide à gagner les fans. Je serais bête si je n’étais pas reconnaissante d’avoir quelque chose comme ça.
Qu’est-ce qui t’a fait prendre la guitare quand tu étais enfant ? Et pourquoi jouer du heavy metal et pas un autre style de musique ?
Diamond : J’avais une amie à l’école qui était un peu plus âgé que moi et quand tu as une amie plus âgée, tu essaies en quelque sorte de faire comme elle. Elle était très Kurt Cobain et Nirvana, Pearl Jam, beaucoup de groupe comme ça. Elle parlait toujours de Kurt Cobain, donc j’ai commencé à m’intéresser à Nirvana. Je me rappelle que j’ai acheté un disque de Nirvana et un disque de System of a Down en même temps.
Quand j’étais enfant, je n’avais pas l’intention d’entre dans le metal mais comme je suis entré là-dedans c’était vraiment cool. Et comme j’ai commencé dans ce genre de musique, je voulais jouer d’un instrument. Je voulais jouer de la guitare. Quand j’ai eu 12 ans, ma mère m’a acheté une guitare pas chère et j’ai commencé des leçons. Et je ne jamais quitté la guitare depuis. Elle m’accompagnait 12 – 13 heures par jour : dans ma chambre, à la table du dîner, dans le salon, quand je regardais la télévision… la guitare était tout le temps avec moi. C’était une passion très naturelle.
Et ton guitar hero?
Diamond: Ohh, il ya beaucoup Kirk Hammett, Dimebag Darrell, Slash, Mark Morton, Dave Mustaine, Zakk Wylde. J’en ai tellement que j’aime. Je me souviens quand j’apprenais la guitare, ce sont ces gars que je regardais. Des gars qui n’étaient pas les chanteurs principaux du groupe, mais ils étaient tout aussi populaires ou même plus populaires que les chanteurs, en raison de ce qu’ils ont apporté au groupe.
Si tu devais faire une collaboration, tu choisirais qui ?
Diamond : La liste est longue, mais ce serait vraiment cool de faire quelque chose avec les gars de Gojira. Je pense qu’ils sont si authentiques en tant qu’artistes et leurs chansons sont heavy et les plus significatives. Ce serait vraiment cool de collaborer avec Joe et Mario.

J’ai remarqué que tu possèdes une impressionnante collection de t-shirts avec des groupes. Tu les as déjà comptés ?
Diamond : Oh, oui j’en ai énormément. Je ne peux pas compter parce qu’il y a trop. J’ai commencé à porter des T-shirts de groupes quand j’avais 12 ans et je les garde encore. Si tu ouvres mon placard ici à Los Angeles, il y a que de t-shirts noirs de groupes. Même chez mes parents en Géorgie, j’ai plusieurs placards pleins de t-shirts de groupe.
Est-ce que tu as un préféré que tu attrapes toujours pour le mettre dans ta valise ?
Diamond : Ouiiii. J’ai un Godsmack de l’époque 1999 ou 2000. C’est vraiment nouveau dans ma collection. J’aime celui-là pour certaines raisons mais surtout parce qu’il est tellement vieille école. Il ya aussi un shirt Slipknot que j’ai aussi toujours avec moi. Et j’ai aussi un nouvel Stained que j’ai eue récemment. J’aime dénicher de T shirts sur Ebay qui datent de l’époque 98 – 2003 ou 2004.
Tu sais, T-shirts de l’époque quand j’ai débuté dans ce genre de musique. J’adore ce genre de T-shirts. J’aime aussi ceux de tournée comme celui de Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003 qui a été ma première tournée que j’ai fait avec Metallica, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Mudvayne, Linkin Park. J’adore ce T-shirt. C’est juste très nostalgique, un de mes préférés.

Diamond : Les jean skinny noir, évidemment …
Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire quand tu ne fais pas de musique ?
Diamond : La plupart du temps, je suis très unidimensionnelle. Ça veut dire quoi de trucs en dehors de la musique ? Mais j’adore pêcher. C’est bizarre. C’est vraiment relaxant. Je ne peux pas faire grand-chose ici en Californie parce qu’il n’y a pas beaucoup des plans d’eau naturels ou des lacs, comme dans le sud de la Géorgie, mais je le fais quand je peux sortir.
C’est comme ma deuxième chose préférée à faire maintenant. Je suis tellement plongée dans la musique avec le côté business du groupe que je n’ai vraiment pas beaucoup de temps à faire d’autre choses.
Avez-vous des nouvelles de la tournée ?
Diamond : La tournée va reprendre à l’automne ici en Amérique. Ils semblent assez optimistes. Et je sais que les concerts vont être de retour en été, pas les tournées, mais les concerts pourraient commencer en Juin.
Et si tout se passe bien à l’automne et en début de l’année prochaine tout devrait être de retour à la normale, nous l’espérons.

Diamond : Nous serons là dès que nous le pourrons.
Quel sera ton plus grand souhait pour Unstable et pour cette année ?
Diamond : Nous attendons la tournée depuis 2 ans. Nous n’avons jamais hésité à dire que notre objectif est que nous voulons être le plus grand groupe dans notre style de notre temps. C’est toujours l’objectif que nous avons et que nous gardons à l’esprit dans tout ce que nous faisons. Donc avec cet album, les albums à venir et les tournées à venir, nous espérons que tous ces espoirs vont passer à l’étape suivante dans cet objectif de devenir ce groupe. Nous espérons qu’il y aura beaucoup de gens qui l’écouterons et qui se retrouverons dans cet l’album. Ou juste savoir que TETRARCH existe, ça nous rendra heureux.

Diamond nice to hear and see you. How are you doing? Where are you right now?
Diamond: I am doing great, I am in Los Angeles right now at my apartment
How is life in LA in this moment?
Diamond: It’s good. It’s getting better. They are starting to try to open things back up a little bit. I know that restaurants are open back this week. Just graduate starting to try to get things back up to normal. Hopefully, it continuous going in a good direction.
I just want to tell you from the beginning the new album is a killer one, so CONGRAULATIONS!
Diamond: Thank you
Let’s talk about the beginning of Tetrarch. You started the band together with Josh, can you tell me a little bit how the things happened?
Diamond: Yes, right. We actually went to school together. I started to that school in the seventh grade when I was 12. And at that same time, I was trying to getting into rock and stuff like this. We were in a very small, like private school where you know everybody, so I knew who is into that kind of music. I know Josh was playing guitar, so I was trying to get to know him and trying to see if we can start jamming together or start a band, something like this. He was jamming with a friend who played drums and when I asked if I can jam with them, Josh said no… because I was a girl …
So, I was hard broken for a couple of days and then, he changed his mind so, I started to jam with them. The rest is kind of history. We slowly started to build from there, playing out talents shows, local shows, so basically did not skip a step.And then we got Ryan and Ruben and it’s been a great long journey.
I love Kirk Hammett, Dimebag and Slash, they make me want to pick up a guitar and playing for living.
Diamond Rowe
You started in Atlanta in Georgia then you moved in L.A. Was it because you wanted to do different, musically. There were more opportunities in LA?
Diamond: It was more a convenient move. In LA there are all labels, all communication. Anything you can want is here, so it was just easy to be close to everything. It also took us out of our comfort zone of just being home…It gave it like a shift and energy to be able to make us delivery even better. That was also very helpful for us. We played in Atlanta the little local scene a lot but we were a kind of outcast. We have never been accepted very well not by fans but like by the other bands. we had not tights there. We do like what we thought that it is best for our career and move to L.A. really helped us.
Diamond: Yeah, it is a tank but we actually get our name from the definition of the Roman Empire ruled by four people, co-emperors. We are four of us in the band, that’s why we picked that name.
The second album Unstable will drop end of April Unstable, how did you build it? Did Covid had an impact on the creation of the album?
Diamond: We actually started to write Unstable at the very beginning of 2019. We started recording in October 2019 and we finished in February 2020. So, everything was pretty much done before the pandemic hit. All the music was finished, we just had to figure out how put it out the singles and all that. But it was not a really good for us regardless not being able to tour.
But when we were coming together, we knew that we wanted to make an album that was a kind of angsty, catchy but also having really heavy elements to it. Just like your mainstream metal album.
We considered ourselves like a crossover metal band and we knew what we want to accomplish, so it is pretty easy in that regard of what we wanted to do. We also did not give ourselves any time. We did not say ok, we finish recording this album in the studio in 3 weeks. We were more like: we are gonna stay into studio as long as we need to stay in there to make sure that we get out of this album what we want. It was a definitely really cool writing experience.
Doing my researches on you, I noticed that everybody qualified as a band of nu metal revival. What do you think about this?
Diamond: We are one of these bands that whatever people call us, is ok.. I mean it’s sure that if they want us to lead the nu metal revival or whatever, it’s ok. We did not like to put ourselves in a box. For sure, we have a lot of nu metal influences but also have a lot of modern metal influences, hard rock influences or metal core influences in there, so it is hard to stick us into a box. But if somebody want to say we are leading that charge, we are ok with that, as long as they are talking about us.
So, talking about this, what kind of music you guys are listening in the band?
Diamond: Me and our drummer Ruben, we are the heavy ones, we listen to band like Gojira, Slipknot, the heavier the better we love it. Josh and Ryan are little more on rock side. Josh grew up on a lot of Pearl Jam, U2 and Green Day bands like that. He is like leads more by melody, simplicity and same with Ryan who love band like Muse and Nothing More. WE are all complements each other.
What inspired you to write a song: a riff, a melody, a lyric?
Diamond: It could be anything. Sometimes Josh or I have a riff, sometimes one of us have a lyric or a topic idea, and sometimes we have whole song and we presented to one another to see if it has any potential. Once we have that we take it to Ryan and Ruben and they put there some on spins and things and really round it up to Tetrarch.
It’s is an angsty album, with a strong and angry vibe. You call it Unstable; do you consider that it the song the most representative of the album?
Diamond: We tried to figure out a name, we had a couple different ones like Negative noise. But after writing the song Unstable and picking that title for it and once all the songs came together, we thought that nothing fits this album topically for a name better then Unstable. We settle on Unstable to be the perfect name for the whole body of work.
A song which you are the proudest of or means the most for you?
Diamond: They are all like our babies, we loved them all. But for me, I’m not right is the song that I love because I like that chorus that literally came out exactly how I have in vision from the beginning. It is the song I listen to the most for personal enjoinment. Probably, that one that represents the album really good as far as its just like that huge chorus, those heavy spooky elements too. I was definitely really proud of it when we finished it.
I always pick up my favourite song in an album and ask details about it, but I must confess it was very hard for me to pick up one because I really love them all. Anyway, let’s try Negative Noise. What can you tell me about this song?
Diamond: It’s definitely one of the heaviest songs on the record, we actually just shot the video for it. And it looks really sick, we are super proud of it. It’s super fun energetic.
How about Addicted?
Diamond: Addicted it is really cool as well. It is that was kind of hidden gem we wrote and when we finished that song ended up being a lot of people favourite even if we did not expect to be. It has a very cool vibe to it. Josh really had a good time writing that chorus too, and it is about being addictive to this life; like what we do and not wanted to do anything else. It’s a really good one.
I would like to congratulate you again because Josh and You are among the top 10-metal guitarist in in the world in this moment in the Music Radar Chart. It’s a huge accomplishment for young talented people like you. And also, you are the first African American female lead guitarist in metal. How do you feel about this?
Diamond: It’s pretty crazy. We’re just being kids that started playing because we loved it, for the passion. I love Kirk Hammet, Dimebag and Slash, they make me want to play and pick up a guitar and playing for living. It’s is always amazing to see that you are making some a kind of impact and people are noticing that you are doing something that’s you just really love so trembling and worth. I have so much gratitude for everybody that’s help us to get at this point. it’s been amazing to be a part of.
In general, when I discus with girls who are in rock or metal, they said that it’s not always so easy for a girl to be part of this world, to get all the attention or be taken seriously. They always have to work more that a man to be recognised. How do you feel about this? I just feel that you are very comfortable the metal’s world.
Diamond: It was honestly not very difficult for me. I know everybody experience is different but when we were coming up, I did not pay attention to that… like people talking about how different I was, I was just so focus on our band and wanted to become best guitar player I could and people just naturally took notice. Which was really cool, so it was a pretty cool and smooth journey for me. I always felt comfortable. People always make me feel good and the environment was good…maybe one or two time I felt like oh I do not belong there, but that was in our early days but now definitely, it is Ok.
I do not feel anything that makes me uncomfortable. It was a pretty smooth journey so far for me and blessing in the sky of being different, people pay attention to Tetrarch that might not that if I looked like everyone else in the band. It helps us convert fans. I would be silly if I wasn’t thankful for having something like that.
We have never been shy to say that our goal is that we want to be biggest band in our gender of our time. That’s was always the goal that we have and we keep in mind with everything that we do… Diamond Rowe
What made you actually pick up the guitar when you were a child? And why playing heavy metal and not any other style of music?
Diamond: I had a friend in school that was a little older than me and when you have an older friend you kind of look up to them. She was very much into Kurt Cobain and Nirvana, Pearl Jam, a lot of band like that. She was always talking about Kurt Cobain, so I wanted to go and check-up Nirvana. I bought the Nirvana record and a bought a System of a Down record, both in the same time.
When I was a kiddo, I did not really want to get in this kind of stuff but as I got into It was really cool. I started into this kind of music, so I wanted to play an instrument. I wanted to play guitar and when I turned 12 my mom bought me a cheap guitar and I started lessons.
And I never put the guitar down since, like 12 – 13 hours a day: in my room, at the dinner table, in the living room, I was watching TV… the guitar came with me all the time and that’s kind how all started. It was very natural passion.
And your guitar hero?
Diamond: Kirk Hammet, Dimebag Darrell, Slash, Mark Morton, Dave Mustaine, Zakk Wylde. I just have so many that I like. I remember when I was learning guitar, those are the guys I was look to. Guys that weren’t the lead singers of the band but they were just as popular or more popular because of what they brought to the band. They were my favourite.
If you had to do collaboration, who will you pick?
Diamond: They were so many. IT would be really cool to do something with the guys of Gojira. I think that they are so genuine as an artiste of the heaviest and the most meaningful songs, so I think that it would be really cool to collaborate with John and Mario.

Diamond Yeah, Exactly. I would love to.
Rock and Fashion are always linked. I noticed at that you have an impressive collection of band T shirts? Did you even count them? How many do you have?
Diamond: Oh, yeah. I cannot count because I have so many. I started wearing band T shirts when I was 12 and I still have some of them. If you open my closet here in LA is all black T shirts. Even at my parents house in Georgia, I have multiple closets full of band T Shirts.
Do you have a favourite one that you always grab quickly and put in your suitcase when you go somewhere?
Diamond: I do have. I’ve got a new Godsmack. it’s really new in my collection.It’s a Godsmack shirt from 2000 or 99. I love that one for some reasons, especially cause it’s so old school looking. There is a Slipknot shirt also that I always had. And I have this new Staind shirt that I got recently. I really love getting shirts from Ebay that are like between 98 and 2003 or 2004. T shirt from in the primal stage when I was getting in this kind of Music. I love these kind of T shirts. I also like tour shirts like Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003 that was my first tour that I went, that one with Metallica, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Mudvayne, Linkin Park. I love that T shirt. It’s just very nostalgic, one of my favourites.
Wow, that’s impressive. How about the second item that occupied your closet after the T shirts.
Diamond: The black skinny jeans, obviously…
What do you like to do if you are not making music?
Diamond: Most of the time, I am very one dimensional, so things out of the music, what’s that? I do really love to fish. I love bass fishing. It’s weird. It’ like really relaxing. I cannot do much here in California because that are not so much natural water bodies or lakes, like in the south of Georgia, but I do that when I can go outside, it’s like my second favourite thing to do now. I am usually so wrapped in music with the business side of the band, I really do not have a lot of the time in this moment.
Do you have news about the touring?
Diamond: Touring will be resuming in the fall here in America for sure, they just seem very hopeful. And I know that shows there are going be back in the summer, not touring but shows might start in June.
And things are starting to looks good starting with fall and beginning of next year everything should be back to normal hopefully. It is not sure but that’s kind of feeling.
We hope that we are going to come in Europe and in France
Diamond: We will be there as soon as we can.
What will be our biggest wish for Unstable and for this year?
Diamond: We wait to touring for this album this for 2 years. We have never been shy to say that our goal is that we want to be biggest band in our gender of our time. That’s was always the goal that we have and we keep in mind with everything that we do, so with this album and the albums to come and the touring to come, we hope that all of these hopes get to the next step in that journey of becoming that band. We hope we get as many people to hear the album as possible and resonate with it, just become aware with Tetrach, we’ll be happy.
