Aux dernières nouvelles, notre espoir d’aller cette année à des concerts ou des festivals rock / métal s’est un peu évanoui. Car avec le protocole sanitaire strict annoncé : pas plus de 5 000 personnes en configuration assise, certains événements de grande envergure seront très difficiles à mettre en place. HELLFEST est déjà reportée pour 2022… Il va falloir donc attendre encore longtemps pour revoir des fosses remplis de fans et de headbangers.
En attendant, il y a toujours de bonnes nouvelles dans l’univers du rock avec des nombreuses sortis d’albums très attendus, des nouveaux artistes talentueux à découvrir, girlpower, grupes legendaires. Découvrez donc notre sélection de février!
Chloé Trujillo – Tide
Chloé Trujillo révèleTide, le premier extrait de l’EP/ album de 8 titres “Mother Of A True Nation” qui sortira le 1er Octobre 2021.
Artiste peintre, musicienne, styliste, Chloé Trujillo est une artiste très inspirante aux multiples facettes. Reliant son éducation scientifique avancée à une formation holistique, cette synchronicité est devenue la racine de son rituel artistique.
Personnalité lumineuse, elle livre à travers ses visions des messages puissants, pleins de symboles et des métaphores et traduit des éléments ésotériques de l’existence dans une musique mystérieuse et vibrante.
Passée par le punk rock et le métal, les opéras rock et les comédies musicales de Broadway, l’artiste a déjà sorti un premier album en 2016, Ivresse.
Avec ses nouvelles compositions, elle se construit une identité musicale éclectique : des inspirations rock, métal et orientales, son univers musical fusion est imprégné par des mélodies douces et rythmes entêtantes.
Pour enregistrer Tide, Chloéa fait appel àson mariRobert Trujillo (Metallica, Infectious Grooves, Suicidal Tendencies…) à la basse et à Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction, Infectious Grooves…) à la batterie. Chaque mois elle dévoilera une nouvelle chanson et vidéo extraits de cet album.

DIVINE ASTRONAUT- Voices
Restons dans le même univers de la musique fusion avec un groupe situé à la croisée entre le pop-rock et l’électro, Divine Astronaut. Le duo formé par la chanteuse Livvy Holland et le producteur / multi-instrumentiste Moonhead décrit leur son comme une musique nocturne qui est électronique alternative downtempo avec du trip hop et des éléments industriels et citait des groupes tels que Portishead, Bjork, Enigma, Peter Gabriel, Massive Attack, NIN et Radiohead comme influences.
En attendant leur premier album “Made Not In Berlin“, Divine Astronaut a sorti en Novembre 2020, « 4 » (M & O Music) un premier EP qui contient 4 chansons (Ransom, Voices , Whither, Undone), les 4 illustrés par des vidéos oniriques et séduisants.

LEVARA –Automatic
Un français (Jules Galli – chant), un anglais (Josh Devine – batterie) et un american (Trev Lukather – guitare), on vous a déjà présenté LEVARA, ce groupe international de « classic rock »
Le trio a annoncé la sortie de leur 1er album éponyme, le 14 mai 2021. A cette occasion, ils nous présentent le vidéo clip de “Automatic” leur nouveau single. Avec une énergie communicative LEVARA nous entraîne dans une dimension plus “big rock” : la mélodie est forte, le son de batterie est massif, celui des guitares est énorme. CHEAP TRICK – LIGHT UP THE FIRE
Ce nouveau single incendiaire annonce le 20ème album studio du groupe légendaire Cheap Trick, intitulé IN ANOTHER WORLD disponible en France, le 9 avril 2021
Dans un monde devenu fou, Cheap Trick est toujours là pour nous rappeler ce qui a été détruit et, de fait, ce dont nous avons le plus vraiment besoin…Fondé en 1974 par Robin Zander (chant, guitare), Rick Nielsen (lead guitare), Tom Petersson (basse) et l’ancien batteur Bun E. Carlos, le groupe originaire de Rockford, Illinois – intronisé au Rock and Roll Hall of Fame en 2016 – poursuit sa route avec In Another World – leur 20ème album studio qui fait suite à We’re All Alright paru en 2017 aux USA.
Produit par Julian Raymond (Albert Lee, Fleetwood Mac…), avec qui le quatuor travaille depuis plus de 20 ans, ce nouvel album voit les musiciens faire ce qu’ils font de mieux : délivrer inexorablement un Rock ‘n’ Roll aux vertus indélébiles grâce à des chansons surdimensionnées, des paroles sympathiquement malicieuses et une énergie intacte.
TETRARCH – You Never Listen
TETRARCH a annoncé la sortie de son deuxième album, Unstable, le 30 avril prochain sur Napalm Records, co-produit par Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Allegeon, Khemmis) et les musiciens eux-mêmes.
On a parlé ici de du premier extrait I’m not right sorti l’année dernière, un véritable hymne puissant et vertigineux. You Never Listen s’inscrit dans la même lignée avec un mélange de riffs lourds et intenses et des refrains catchy.

« You Never Listen est une chanson pour toute personne qui a lutté ou est sous emprise une relation brisée – que ce soit avec un membre de la famille, un ami, une autre personne importante, ou même avec soi-même. Tant de fois, nous constatons que les gens avec qui nous étions autrefois proches ou que nous avions l’impression de bien connaître montrent un côté plus sombre et différent d’eux-mêmes qui nous force à nous séparer. You Never Listen est d’avoir la force de dire assez, ça suffit et de vous débarrasser de ces situations toxiques ».
Le premier album du groupe, Freak est sortien2017. Le travail acharné et la détermination sans relâche du groupe les ont imposés comme l’un des groupes les plus en vue dans le heavy metal attirant l’attention des grands médias, y compris Pollstar (mention de couverture), Billboard, Revolver, Alternative Press, Guitar World, Guitar Player, Premier Guitar, Kerrang! et Metal Hammer, et dans beaucoup la guitariste Diamond Rowe a été la première femme guitariste afro-américaine du genre heavy metal à être présenté.

EGO KILL TALENT – Delivrance
Après leurs deux EP The Dance et The Dance Between le groupe de Sao Paolo annonce enfin son nouvel album THE DANCE BETWEEN EXTREMES prévu pour 19 Mars 2021.
Formé en 2014 par le chanteur Jonathan Correa et le guitariste Theo van der Loo, Ego Kill Talent compte aussi dans ses rangs le batteur Jean Dolabella, qui a officié pendant 5 ans chez Sepultura et bossé avec Mike Patton ou le producteur Matt Wallace.
Ego Kill Talent? Ce nom vous dit peut-être déjà quelque chose car ils se sont produit plusieurs fois en France en 2017 et 2018 sur l’une des scènes du festival Download Paris et aussi en première partie de System of a Down aux Arènes de Nîmes et de Within Temptation au Zénith de la Porte de la Villette en 2018.

GRETA VAN FLEET – HEAT ABOVE
Le groupe de Michigan GRETA VAN FLEET révèle un nouvel extrait HEAT ABOVE de leur album THE BATTLE OF GARDEN’S GATE disponible le 16 avril 2021. “Il ya encore plein d’amour dans ce monde, même si on ne dirait pas. Elevons nous vers les étoiles ensemble“, a écrit le groupe sur les réseaux sociaux. Un clip très théâtral et stylé.
Mason Hill – DNA
Après “Against The Wall” en octobre et “Find My Way” en novembre, poursuivez la découverte de la musique des écossais de Mason Hill, avec DNA qui annonce la sortie de leur premier album le 5 mars 2021 sur 7Hz Recordings (ADA/ Warner).
Face au virus ils auraient pu remettre l’aventure à plus tard, mais, si dure soit-elle, ils préfèrent affronter la réalité et sortiront leur 1er album, début mars, comme prévu. Et avec une injection de la qualité de “D.N.A.”, vous allez être vacciné pour un bout de temps au son de leurs riffs…
WHEEL – Hyperion
Le groupe de prog-metal finlandais, WHEEL sera de retour le 26 mars 2021, avec Resident Human, un nouvel album qui fera suite à Moving Backwards (2019), disque qui avait engendré les singles Where the Pieces Lie et Vultures. Ce dernier a généré plus de 1,900,000 streams rien que sur Spotify !
Après deux EPs, The Path en 2017 & The Divide en 2018, Moving Backwards avait vu le groupe affirmer son identité.
Conjuguant rock progressif et rock à des influences grunge, avec des incursions ressemblant à des musiques de film, les compositions de WHEEL étaient souvent comparées à celles de Tool… Plus expansif et puissant que jamais, ce nouvel album présente un groupe au sommet de son art…

TARAH WHO? – Swallow that Pill

According to the latest news, our hope of going this year to concerts and rock/metal festivals in France has almost vanished. Because with the announced strict health protocol: no more than 5,000 people in seating configuration, some large-scale events will be very difficult to set up. Chloe Trujillo – Tide
Chloe Trujillo reveals Tide, the first single from the 8 tracks EP/album Mother Of A True Nation which will be released on October 1, 2021. Painter, musician, stylist, Chloé Trujillo is a very inspiring multifaceted artist. Linking her advanced scientific education with holistic training, this synchronicity became the root of her artistic ritual.
A luminous personality, she delivers powerful messages, full of symbols and metaphors through her visions, and translates esoteric elements of existence into mysterious and vibrant music.
After her punk rock and metal, operas rock and Broadway musicals experiences, the artist has already released her debut album in 2016, Ivresse. With her new compositions, she builds an eclectic musical identity: rock, metal and oriental inspirations, her fusion musical universe is injected with soft melodies and catchy rhythms.
To record Tide, Chloé collaborate with her husband Robert Trujillo (Metallica, Infectious Grooves, Suicidal Tendencies…) on bass and Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction, Infectious Grooves…) on drums.

TETRARCH – You Never Listen
TETRARCH has announced the release of their second album, Unstable, on April 30 on Napalm Records, co-produced by Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Allegeon, Khemmis) and the musicians themselves. We talked here about the first extract I’m not right released last year, a real powerful and dizzying anthem. You Never Listen follows in the same vein with a mix of heavy and intense riffs and catchy choruses. Here’s what frontman/guitarist Josh Fore says on You Never Listen
“‘You Never Listen’ is for anybody who has struggled or is struggling through a broken relationship – whether it be with a family member, friend, significant other, or even with themselves. So many times, we find that people we once were close with or felt like we knew well show a darker and different side of themselves that forces us apart. ‘You Never Listen’ is about having the strength to say enough is enough and to rid yourself of those toxic situations.”
The band’s debut album, Freak, was released in 2017. EGO KILL TALENT – Delivrance
After their two EPs The Dance and The Dance Between, Sao Paolo’s band finally announce their new album THE DANCE BETWEEN EXTREMES scheduled for 19 March 2021. Formed in 2014 by singer Jonathan Correa and guitarist Theo van der Loo, Ego Kill Talent also includes drummer Jean Dolabella, who spent five years at Sepultura and worked with Mike Patton and producer Matt Wallace.
Ego Kill Talent? This name may already tell you something because they have performed several times in France in 2017 and 2018 on one of the stages of the Download Paris festival and also in the first part of System of a Down at the Arenas de Nîmes and Within Temptation at the Zenith of the Porte de la Villette in 2018.

Mason Hill – DNA
After “Against The Wall” in October and “Find My Way” in November, continue the discovery of the music of Mason Hill, here is DNA announcing the release of their first album on March 5, 2021 on 7Hz Recordings (ADA/ Warner).
