Il est clair qu’en ce moment on a besoin plus que jamais de la bonne musique et les artistes se font une joie de nous l’offrir. Ce mois-ci encore beaucoup de sorties, de nouveau groupes ! On va parler aussi de la mode rock pour enfants. Il y a deux semaines vous avez pu découvrir ici l’interview de JJ Wilde, la nouvelle super voix rock qui vient du Canada. La très sympathique rockeuse a fait un passage remarqué dans l’émission TARATATA sur France 2 (French TV) le 30 octobre : Au programme : son single “The Rush”, une reprise des Rolling Stones (Beast of Burden) en duo Girl Power avec The Last Internationale, une poignante reprise acoustique de Rihanna, une longue interview, les répétitions et des images en coulisses avec en bonus une version de Home en acoustique. A voir ou à revoir sans modération.
BRKN LOVE – River
BRKN LOVE ont sorti leur premier album éponyme le 14 février 2020, mais cet excellent disque a largement été pénalisé par le confinement : l’annulation de toutes ses activités promo, pas de concerts… Du coup le group du chanteur et guitariste Justin Benlolo va sortir une édition Deluxe, uniquement disponible en digital à compter du 19/11 flanqué de 4 titres supplémentaires dont “River“, une reprise du hit de Bishop Briggs que vous pouvez découvrir. On espère que cette réédition va lui offrir donc une sorte de seconde chance.
BLACK FOXXES – Badlands
Le nouvel opus de Black Foxxes est arrivé ! Ce troisième album du groupe anglais dégage une énergie puissante et une beauté sombre et mystique. Des morceaux très intenses et énergiques comme I Am, Badlands ou The Diving Bell ou des sublimes chansons hypnotiques comme Drug Holiday, My Skin ou Jungle Skies
Avec ce disque Mark Holley (chant/guitare) poursuit son introspectif périple musical profondément émotionnel. Comme à son habitude le frontman se met à nu et parle ouvertement d’anxiété et de santé mentale. Des guitares magnifiques, du saxophone et des excellentes lignes de basse, de l’indie rock avec des influence blues et rock, cet album éponyme est parfait.
iDKHOW’s Lights Go Down
Le duo formé par Dallon Weekes (ex-Panic! at the Disco) et Ryan Seaman a sorti Razzmatazz, leur 1er album, le 16 October 2020.
Une esthétique et des sonorités eighties, des guitares et des synthés très new wave style, une voix impressionnante, des solos de saxophone, Razzmatazz est un album frais qui invite à une soirée retro futuriste avec maquillages, paillettes et épaulettes.
Une charmante nostalgie qui nous fait danser avec Sugar Pills et Lights Go Down ou nous rend mélancolique avec Kiss Goodnight et sa vibe 80’s, décidément mon morceau favori de l’album. Et cette fois la classique Nobody Likes The Opening Band a sa place d’honneur sur l’album.
Razzmatazz est une version moderne de la pop élégante de 80’s sur un fond de batterie très rock. C’est le “New” New Wave des années 2020.
BRING ME THE HORIZON – Obey
Le quintette Bring Me The Horizon, nominé aux Grammy Awards et ayant vendu plusieurs disques de platine, a sorti un nouvel EP intitulé « POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR » le 30 octobre 2020. Les British ont également annoncé une tournée très attendue, dont le coup d’envoi sera donné le 21 septembre 2021 à Glasgow SSE Hydro.
Continuant à repousser les limites de leur créativité, même pendant le confinement, le groupe a créé une œuvre qui est sans doute l’un de leurs albums les plus passionnants, les plus divers et les plus complexes à ce jour.
Les deux premiers morceaux du EP, Parasite Eve et le récent colosse Obey, avec son compatriote YUNGBLUD, ont été salués par la critique et ont accumulé plus de 115 millions de streams audio et vidéos combinés à ce jour. Parmi les autres invités de l’EP figurent BABYMETAL, Nova Twins et Amy Lee d’Evanescence.
GRETA VAN FLEET – MY WAY, SOON
Originaire du Michigan Greta Van Fleet est incontestablement le nouveau groupe qui a le plus d’impact sur la scène rock internationale ces dernières années. Rien qu’en France, en à peine 2 ans, le quatuor est passé de la scène du club des Etoiles à celle du Zénith de Paris pour un concert archi complet!
Nous avons parlé ici d’eux plusieurs fois et voilà que nous avons de nouveau l’occasion, car ils ont sorti une nouvelle chanson.
MY WAY, SOON est une chanson inspirée par les trois ans que le groupe a passé sur la route aux quatre coins de la planète. Une vie de tournée intensive, doublée d’un incroyable succès, qui a eu une influence considérable sur les perspectives de ces quatre jeunes musiciens…La vidéo a été réalisée par les musiciens eux-mêmes.
TOYBLOID -Seven
Pour son tout dernier clip, TOYBLOÏD met à l’honneur des images inédites filmées début 2020 durant sa tournée en première partie d’ULTRA VOMIT. Alternant souvenirs de route, backstages ainsi que du live, TOYBLOID nous renvoie à une période qui nous semble maintenant bien éloignée, celle des concerts insouciants, où se mêlaient sans restriction chants vociférés, bières renversées et pogos collés-serrés.

DALHIA – SUBLIMATION
Nouveau visage de la scène dark-électro made in France, le duo DALHIA présente son nouveau clip SUBLIMATION quelques jours seulement après la sortie de leur premier EP HIDE MY FACE, aux sonorités viscérales et textes puissants !
Formé en 2019 sous l’impulsion de la chanteuse et compositrice Rachel Geffroy, le duo havrais se balade avec une aisance incroyable entre le hip-hop, la cold-wave et la pop torturée. N’ayant pas peur des rythmiques lourdes et instrumentations caverneuses, Rachel Geffroy (chant) et Simon Vouland (batterie/machine) nous embarquent dans un univers sombre et mystique – un univers atypique qui semble d’ailleurs avoir fait mouche auprès du jury des Inouis du Printemps de Bourges.

ANIMAL TRISTE a choisi pour le premier extrait de leur premier album le fameux morceau de Bruce Springsteen, Dancing In The Dark.

Le groupe de métal suédois provocateur, impérieux et attachant SOEN dévoilera son cinquième album, IMPERIAL, via Silver Lining Music le 29 janvier 2021. BRKN LOVE – River
BRKN LOVE released their self-titled debut album on February 14, 2020, but this excellent record was largely penalized by the lockdown: the cancellation of all the promotional activities, no concerts… So, the band of singer and guitarist Justin Benlolo will release a Deluxe edition of this album, only available in digital starting with 19th of November flanked by 4 additional tracks including River, a cover of the hit Bishop Briggs that you can discover. We hope that this reissue will give to this album a second chance.

ANIMAL TRISTE –Dancing In The Dark
ANIMAL TRISTE chose for the first single out of their debut album the cover of the famous track of Bruce Springsteen’s Dancing In The Dark. The music video of DANCING IN THE DARK already imposes the aesthetics of the band: black and white, shadows worn and faces hidden in a sleepy city that looks as much like Seattle as in Berlin, Rouen as In Brooklyn.
Founded in Rouen by members of La Maison Tellier and Darko, the band has re-established the crest of a “wild – indomitable” rock.
