Après avoir enflammé les scènes de festivals d’été, The NoFace passait cet automne à la conquête de salles intimistes de France pour présenter en live, leur excellent 1er album, Chapter One.
Le tour de Paris est venu le 16 novembre 2017, aux Etoiles, et décidément, cela a été un de mes concerts préfères de 2017.
Explosion d’énergie et de vivacité, pêche d’enfer, ce concert a été tout simplement un concentré de pur bonheur, une évasion dans un monde où règne le bon son rock et l’excellente ambiance.
Evidemment, leur masque emblématique était partout : écran lumineux derrière la scène, petits masques en carton ou T-shirts dans le public.
Oma (chant) Yann (guitare), Jay (basse), Lio (clavier), Max (batterie) ont présenté la totalité des morceaux de l’album interprétés dans une jolie désordre, ainsi qu’un petit intrus, avec la cover Get Ur Freak out de Missy Elliot.
Orion démarre le set, suivi de Mascarade et I am over You, le petit théâtre tremble déjà sous le son énergique et la voix impeccable et super puissante de la chanteuse.
Longues dreadlocks, grand sourire, regard pétillant, Oma est magnifique. Habillée d’un pantalon argenté, joli perfecto noir, boots et grand collier, c’est elle, qui tient la vedette. Le jeu de scène, la complicité avec les 4 garçons masqués, qui portent de chemises blanches et pantalons noirs, est très réussi.
The Rumour et Fire, énergie éblouissante, superbe communication avec le public, tout le monde est sous le charme etbsaute, danse, chante et échange avec le groupe. Chaleur et passion.
Ambiance danse floor assurée, les boules à facettes suspendus au plafond y apportent quelque chose en plus. On a presque oublié qu’on est au milieu de la semaine.
Musiciens expérimentes et talentueux, les 4 lillois ( ex- Skip the Use) et Oma, charismatique, voix chaude rock – soul -funk, ont décidément trouvé la bonne formule qui fait des étincelles.
A Me Rendre Folle, le seul titre en français, groovy et sexy, Time avec belle intro au piano et Change Change Change qu’Oma dédie à toutes les filles dans la salle…Mermaid Chant incendiaire, positive vibes, Oma se déhanche, saute sans cesse, ses dreads partent dans des headbanging de folie et I am Thinking of You pour clôturer le show.
Et surprise, quelques instants après la fin, le groupe descend dans la foule, sans masques, pour interpréter Change Change Change en version acoustique, devant un public émerveillé.
La pêche, la bonne humeur et beaucoup de talent, un superbe show catchy et un groupe qu’assure totalement en live. Canon. A voir et à revoir.

After the summer festivals, The NoFace started this fall, the conquest of intimate French venues in order to introduce live, their excellent debut album, Chapter One.
Paris’ turn was on November 16, 2017, at Les Etoiles, and definitely, their gig is on my Best Of 2017 list.
Explosion of energy and vivacity, this concert was simply a concentrate of pure happiness, an escape into a world of great rock sound mixed to an excellent ambience.
Obviously, their iconic mask was everywhere: screen behind the stage, masks in cardboard or T-shirts in the audience.
Oma (vocals), Yann (guitar), Jay (bass), Lio (keyboard), Max (drums) presented all album’s tracks, performed upside down, as well as a small intrusion, with a great Missy Elliot’s cover “Get Ur Freak out”
Orion starts the set, followed by Mascarade and I am over You, the little theatre trembles already under the energetic sound and impeccable, super powerful singer’s voice.
Long dreadlocks, great smile, bright eyes, Oma is amazing. Wearing a pair of silver pants, black leather jacket, boots and big necklace, she is The Star. The complicity with 4 boys hidden behind their masks, wearing white shirts and black pants, is awesome.
The Rumour and Fire, dazzling energy and great communication with the public, everyone is under the spell. The audience jumps, dance, sing, and exchange with the band. Heat and passion.
Atmosphere dance floor assured, the hanging Disco Balls bringing something more. We almost forgot we’re in the middle of the week.
Experienced and talented musicians, the 4 boys of Lille (ex- Skip the Use) and Oma, charismatic, warm voice rock – soul – funk, have definitely found the right formula that makes sparks.
A Me Rendre Folle, the only title in French, groovy and sexy, Time, with the nice piano intro and Change Change Change that Oma dedicated to all the girls in the room…
Incendiary Mermaid Chant spreading positive vibes, Oma sways, jumps constantly, her dreadlocks move in some crazy headbanging, the show ends with I am Thinking of You.
But surprise, a few moments after the end, the band arrive in the middle of the crowd, without masks, to sing a beautiful acoustic version of Change Change Change that pleasure the audience.
Good humour and great talent, a catchy show and a band with a fantastic live skills.
To See them again and again.
