The beautiful building of Foundation Louis Vuitton, huge space dedicated to contemporary art and designed by the famous American architect, Frank Gehry, gets new skin for few days.
The French artist Daniel Buren, presents his grandiose artistic project, ‘The Observatory of light’, across the emblematic glass elements of the building which reminds a gigantic boat lost in an ocean of greenery.
The twelve ‘sails’, formed of 3,600 pieces of glass, are covered by coloured filters set out in a staggered pattern and themselves punctuated, at equal distances from one another, by alternating white and blank stripes perpendicular to the ground.
Through this game of thirteen colours, projections, reflections, transparencies and contrasts, both interior and exterior, Daniel Buren offers a total new stunning look to the building.

Le superbe bâtiment de La Fondation Louis Vuitton, la création de l’architecte américain, Frank Gehry, immense espace de présentation de collections l’art contemporain, fait peau neuve depuis quelques jours.
L’artiste français Daniel Buren, présente son projet artistique grandiose, « L’Observatoire de la lumière », sur l’ensemble des verrières, élément emblématique de l’édifice qui rappelle un bateau gigantesque perdu dans un océan de verdure.
Les douze voiles, constituées de 3600 verres, ont été recouvertes de filtres colorés qui sont à leur tour, ponctués à distances égales les uns des autres par des bandes alternativement blanches et vides, axées perpendiculairement au sol.
A travers ce jeu de treize couleurs, de projections, de reflets, de transparences et de contrastes, à la fois intérieur et extérieur, Daniel Buren offre un nouveau regard fantastique sur le bâtiment.
