Welcome to the Jungle Rock en Seine 2015

There was circus, there was spaceship invasion… and, this year, it looks that Rock en Seine Festival will bring us to the Jungle.

Still 2 months to go to our beloved Parisian festival, so time to do a small introduction.

Well for me, loyal audience, WOW, this year is really one of my favorite lineup of these past 13 years.

Created in 2003, the festival takes place every end of August, when summer turns to fall, when leaves start turning to yellow and almost all Parisians and not only, are back from vacation.

The location is magical, Domaine national de Saint Cloud, a wonderful park, full of History, designed by Le Notre, the landscape architect of King Louis XIV.

Situated just outside Paris, across the Seine, it’s a lovely green spot with beautiful gardens “à la française” with superb fountains, sculptures and amazing views on Paris.

Along these past years, the festival invited the best of pop and rock names with some techno, house interludes or some escapes groove and electro.

The best sound behind the trees, admiring a beautiful blue sky or a yearning sunset, or sometimes under an unstoppable cold autumn rain, this is Rock en Seine.

Starting with the first edition 13 years ago, with 2 stages, 10 artists and 22 000 people, the festival has grown up every year, becoming one of the most famous in Europe.People from all over France and Europe come here to enjoy good music, share their passion in a cool ambience excited to hear legends of rock or to discover new talents..

2014 counted 120 000 people, 5 stages and more than 65 artists.

3 exclusive days, when the park become a huge dance floor, amazing rock party, with great sound, open air pictures exhibition, rock library, bars and restaurants for all tastes, big wheel and other amusements .

Here only some of the names  who played here over the years  Placebo, Artic Monkeys, Green Day, Archives, The Kills, Block Party, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Roxy Music, Blondie, Foo Fighters, Phoenix, Queen of the Stone Age, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol,  Noel Gallagher (after Oasis split here in 2009). But also, young promising French talents as Lily Wood and the prick, Hindi Zara, Cheveu, or Jill is Lucky, names  which become well known …

Rock ‘Art exhibition is a tradition, talented artist illustrators are invited to create original artwork posters representing every artist in the lineup. They are exposed during the festival but first are shown in the metro station Duroc which become every June – DUROCK , yeah, the metro is Rocking …

Well, this year, Lineup is awesome, for me…seriously…Rock en Seine invited my favorite bands.

Interpol – The most elegant indie rock sound coming from New York- I have already wrote here about them, so no need to say it again, my love, my admiration, my addiction. Already part of the festival in 2011, the trio is back with an excellent 5^th album, El Pintor, and I am really thrilled to surf again, at the end of the summer, on their dark melancholic rock sound and poetry.

The Offspring – no need to introduce these Californian pioneers of punk rock, with 30 years of career behind. Their 10^th album is on the way and no doubt, they will fire off the RNS scene with their furious, smashing sound. There were here also on 2009 and their performance was RAD

The Libertines – who came back together for our total joy. More than 10 years after their excellent  album “ The Libertines “  Pete Doherty, Carl Barat and their colleagues will spread again their energetic punk rock songs and for sure, we’ll have the opportunity to appreciate some new stuff from their so long awaited  3^rd album .

Stereophonics – with their melodic British Rock, will be part of the party too. Love them since long time ago and the new single “C’est la Vie” predicts an excellent new coming album “keep the village alive” in September, hope that some of their greatest hits will be there too: Have nice day, Dakota, Indian summer  …

Kasabian – the fabulous performers, British band also, they built along 5 albums their own indie rock style, mixing rock, electro beat, some hip hop or psychedelic sound. Touring for their new album 48:13, would be a great chance to see them again.

FFS – under these initials is hidden a surprisingly collaboration between Franz Ferdinand and the 80’s band Sparks. Their album is excellent and it I can’t wait to see what is going up live. I love Franz Ferdinand, every album is a jewel, every show is happiness, they continue to charm me with their rock which makes the girls dancing …

Some other names as Tame Impala, Alt J, Catfish and the Bottlemen, John Butler trio, The Chemical Brother or Etienne Daho are also to my “To See- Not to miss” list  and for sure Rock en Seine will unveil  many other surprises .What we need more?

Let’s  go to the jungle of Rock en Seine 2015.

Il ya eu le cirque, il ya eu l’invasion de vaisseaux spatiaux … cette année, il semble que Rock en Seine nous amènera  dans la jungle.

Encore 2 mois d’attente pour  notre bien-aimé festival parisien, donc, il est temps de faire une petite introduction.

Surtout, car, pour moi, fidèle spectatrice…WOW…cette année, la programmation est vraiment une de mes préférées de ces 13 dernières années.

Créée en 2003, le festival a lieu chaque fin d’août, quand l’été se tourne vers l’automne, lorsque les feuilles commencent à dorer, et presque tous les parisiens et non seulement sont de  retour de vacances.

L’emplacement du festival est magique, le Domaine national de Saint Cloud, un parc magnifique, plein d’histoire, dessiné par Le Nôtre, l’architecte paysagiste de Louis XIV.

Situé aux portes de Paris, juste de l’autre côté de la Seine, le parc est un poumon vert avec de beaux jardins « à la française », des superbes fontaines, des sculptures et une vue imprenable sur Paris.

Depuis son existence, le festival a invité le meilleur de la pop et du rock avec quelques interludes techno, house et des évasions groove et électro.

Le meilleur son derrière les arbres, admirant un beau ciel bleu, un coucher de soleil ardent, ou parfois sous une pluie d’automne froide et  interminable, c’est Rock en Seine.

Mais aussi de jeunes talents français comme Lily Wood and the Prick, Hindi Zara, Cheveu or Jill is Lucky, qui sons devenus connus à la suite .

L’exposition Rock ‘Art est une tradition, artistes illustrateurs talentueux sont invités à créer des affiches originales représentant chaque artiste dans la programmation. Les affiches sont exposées pendant le festival, mais d’abord, ils sont présentés dans la station de métro Duroc qui devient chaque juin DUROCK.

La lineup de 2015 est géniale-sérieusement- cette année, Rock en Seine a invité mes groupes favoris.

Interpol – mes préférés, l’indie rock le plus chic et élégant, venant de New York-j’ai déjà écrit ici donc pas besoin de le dire encore une fois…  mon addiction, mon admiration … Déjà présents à RNS en 2011, le trio est de retour avec un 5eme album l’excellent, El Pintor, et je suis vraiment ravie de surfer de nouveau, à la fin de l’été, sur leur rock mélancolique et poétique.

The Offspring – pas besoin de présenter ces pionniers de punk rock californien, avec 30 ans de carrière derrière. Leur dixième album est route et sans doute, ils mettront le feu sur la scène  de RNS avec leur son furieux et diabolique. Ils étaient ici en 2009 et leur performance a été d’enfer.

The Libertines – qui ont décidé de se réunir  pour notre plus grande joie. Plus de 10 ans après leur excellent album « The Libertines » Pete Doherty, Carl Barât et leurs collègues vont nous régaler avec leurs punk rock énergique. Espérons que nous aurons l’occasion d’apprécier de nouvelles chansons de leur 3ème album tellement attendu.

Stereophonics –  avec leur Rock mélodique sera là aussi. Je les aime depuis longtemps et leur nouveau single “C’est la Vie” annonce un excellent nouvel album  à venir en septembre, nous aurons l’occasion d’entendre des nouvelle morceaux  mais aussi leurs plus grands succès : Have a nice day, Dakota or Indian summer…

Kasabian –  the fabulous performers, les britanniques avec leur style original, mélange de rock, électro beat, hip-hop ou psychédélique. En tournée pour leur très bon nouvel album 48:13, ça sera une excellente occasion de les revoir.

FFS – derrière ces initiales se cache une étonnante collaboration entre les fabuleux Franz Ferdinand et le groupe des années 80 Sparks. Leur album est tout simplement TOP et j’attends avec impatience de les voir sur scène. J’adore  Franz Ferdinand, chaque album est un bijou, chaque concert est une fête avec leur rock qui fait danser les filles.

D’autres noms comme Tame Impala, Alt J, The Catfish and Bottlemen, John Butler  trio, The Chemical Brothers ou  Etienne Daho sont également sur ma liste « à ne pas rater  » et à coup sûr, Rock en Seine aura bien d’autres surprises dans leurs poches.
