METALLICA – 72 Seasons
La semaine prochaine, célébrons METALLICA !!! Un mois après la sortie de leur fantastique nouvel album 72 Seasons, les Four Horsemen vont prendrele contrôle de Paris les 17, 18 et 19 mai !
Comme vous le savez peut-être, 72 Seasons est entré directement à la 1ère place des meilleures ventes en France et continue de caracoler dans le Top 10 de la plupart des charts européens.
Intensité à plein régime, high speed energy, riffs massifs, rythmique éblouissante, puissance vocale, darkness et vulnérabilité…, le nouvel album ce nouvel opus est un marathon d’hymnes implacables ! Une expérience sonore palpitante du début jusqu’à la fin !
Pour moi, le meilleur METALLICA depuis le Black Album ! Lux Æterna ,72 Seasons, If Darkness Had a Son ou Inamorata, j’espère qu’on aura l’occasion de headbanger dessous la semaine prochaine lors de deux « No repeat» shows prévus au Stade de France le 17 Mai et le 19 Mai.
Pour chaque concert le groupe proposera des Set List différentes et des premières parti différentes (le 17 mai – Five Fingers Death Punch et Ice Nine Kills et le 19 Mai – Architects et Mammout WVH)
Entre les deux, le jeudi 18 mai, jour férié, les fans du groupe auront le loisir d’assister à partir de 13h30 dans le cadre prestigieux du cinéma Le Grand Rex à Paris au 3 films emblématiques consacrés à Metallica – “Cliff ‘Em All”, “Cunning Stunts” et “Orgullo, Pasion y Gloria: Tres Noches En La Ciudad de Mexico”.
Toujours le 18 mai à 20h00, différents acteurs de la scène « metal » française se retrouveront sur scène du Bataclan, pour célébrer Metallica à travers un concert événement baptisé « Play ‘Em All ».
A l’occasion de cette soirée aussi unique qu’exceptionnelle, Mass Hysteria, Loudblast, Skip The Use, Tagada Jones, Flockos & Manard d’Ultra Vomit, Landmvrks, Pogo Car Crash Control et Tribute to Thrash reprendront, ensemble ou séparément, différentes chansons du répertoire de Metallica.
Un moment qui ne manquera pas d’être fun, mais aussi émouvant quand on se souvient qu’en juin 2003, James, Lars, Kirk et Robert avaient enregistré, dans cette même salle, leur album live « Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité, Metallica ! ».
Une maxime qui, au final, correspond aussi parfaitement à l’état d’esprit qui animera « Play ‘Em All », un concert que l’on n’aura certainement pas, non plus, l’occasion de voir deux fois et qui affiche d’ores et déjà COMPLET !
Et bien sûr, n’oublions le pop-up store à découvrir du mardi 16 au samedi 20 mai 2023, dans le 1er arrondissement de la capitale. Cette boutique éphémère va proposer du merchandising exclusif à l’effigie du groupe, avec notamment des t-shirts, des sweats, des casquettes, des vinyles ou encore des affiches sérigraphiées et des planches de skate.
Mammoth WVH– Like a Pastime
Et justement en première partie de Metallica vendredi 19 Mai, on pourra voir Mammoth WVH.
Après des débuts prometteurs qui se sont traduits par une nomination aux GRAMMY Awards et une impressionnante série de concerts donnés à travers le monde, Mammoth WVH s’est incontestablement fait un nom sur la scène rock internationale. Le groupe du Wolfgang Van Halen (le fils d’Eddie Van Halen) sortira un deuxième album “MAMMOTH II” le 4 août 2023 enregistré sous la direction de Michael “Elvis” Baskette [Alter Bridge, Slash] au fameux 5150 Studio.
Ce nouvel album va droit au but en lorgnant vers des tendances plus “heavy” tout en gardant une ligne directrice très mélodique plus que prometteuse comme le prouve ce nouvel extrait “Like a Pastime”. Chateur et multi-instrumentiste talentueux, voici comment Wolfgang parle de cette chanson : “Ce morceau s’articule autour d’une signature rythmique en 4 temps, mais avec une polyrythmie par-dessus. C’est justement lorsque j’enseignais à ma fiancée ce qu’est une polyrythmie et je suis tombée sur cette idée. Les grosses caisses s’accentuent. C’est certainement l’un de mes morceaux préférés et une ambiance complètement différente de celle du premier album”

DUFF MCKAGAN – This Is The Song
Avec sa poignante nouvelle chanson This Is The Song DUFF MCKAGAN participe au Mois de sensibilisation à la santé mentale. La chanson fait de l’EP éponyme de trois chansons, produit par Martin Feveyear (Mark Lanegan, Brandi Carlile) et qui marque le retour de Duff McKagan en solo.
THIS IS THE SONG a été écrit au milieu d’une crise de panique”, confie très personnellement Duff McKagan. “Je ne pouvais plus respirer et je ne voyais plus clair, mais, en dernier recours j’ai heureusement trouvé ma guitare comme refuge. En m’accrochant à mon instrument, en jouant quelques accords tout en fredonnant des mélodies, j’ai pu commencer à sortir de ce trou. Pour ceux d’entre vous qui n’ont jamais vécu une telle expérience, estimez-vous heureux. Pour ceux d’entre vous qui savent de quoi je parle, sachez que VOUS N’ÊTES PAS SEULS !”
Outre “This Is The Song”, cet EP comprend “It Can’t Come Too Soon” (où l’on retrouve la voix de Shaina Sheperd, chanteuse, compositrice, éducatrice musicale et organisatrice communautaire basée à Seattle, WA), ainsi que “Pass Me By” qui tire son inspiration de l’aventure d’une femme armée chevauchant sa moto à travers les Cascade Mountains” Ces trois nouvelles chansons font suite à “Tenderness”, son deuxième album solo paru en 2019.
Membre fondateur de Guns N’Roses et de Velvet Revolver, intronisé au Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Duff McKagan est avant tout un auteur-compositeur, qui a écrit de nombreuses chansons authentiques à travers lesquelles il confesse ses vulnérabilités.
En plus de sa prolifique carrière musicale, McKagan est aussi l’auteur des livres : “It’s So Easy : And Other Lies” (2011) et “How to Be a Man : (And Other Illusions)” (2015).
Il co anime (avec Susan Holmes McKagan) l’émission de radio diffusée sur Three Chords & The Truth de Sirius XM.
Avec Chad Smith des Red Hot Chili Peppers, Duff est membre du “Wrecking Crew” fondé par le musicien et producteur Andrew Watt.
Ensemble ils ont enregistré et co écrit des albums tels que “Ordinary Man” et “Patient No. 9” d’Ozzy Osbourne, ou le superbe “Every Loser” d’Iggy Pop.
D’ailleurs McKagan – toujours avec Watt, Smith et Josh Klinghoffer des RHCP – fait partie de la formation Iggy Pop & The Losers récemment dévoilée, qui a fait des débuts à l’occasion d’une performance aussi électrique que torride de “Frenzy” lors de de l’émission Jimmy Kimmel Live !
Cet été, Duff McKagan sera en tournée avec Guns N’Roses à travers le monde et passera par Paris et La Défense Arena le 13 juillet 2023.

GHOST – Jesus He Knows Me
La tournée française de l’infatigable groupe GHOST commence le 21 mai – deux de 8 concerts affine déjà complet (Rennes et Lille).
Mais avant Papa Emeritus IV et ses Nameless Ghouls Rennes sortiront un nouvel EP, Phantomime, le 18 mai 2023, un EP qui explore les nombreuses influences pop, parfois méconnues, de la formation suedoise.
En effet, ce mini-album propose des reprises de classiques de Television, Genesis, The Stranglers, Iron Maiden et Tina Turner, toutes estampillées du son si particulier du groupe suédois.
Le groupe a déjà dévoilé une délicieuse reprise de Genesis, Jesus He Knows Me, chanson accompagné par un mini film, qui met en scène les frasques du père Jim DeFroque, réalisé par Alex Ross Perry. 30 ans après Phil Collins & co, Ghost pousse un peu plus loin, à sa manière, cette satire contre les télévangélistes.
Dans le passé, Tobias Forge, la tête pensante de Ghost, avait déjà démontré sa capacité à transformer les chansons d’autres artistes (Abba, Roky Erickson, Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, Metallica, Pet Shop Boys…) en quelque chose de nouveau et de captivant.
Avec “Phantomime”, Ghost continue donc de repousser les limites de son propre style, en transcendant, non sans humour, des influences que l’on osait à peine soupçonner.
“Phantomime” fait suite au succès de l’album “Impera” Sorti en mars 2022, en France, ce disque était entré n°5 (n°3 en physique) au Top Album et présentait notamment le single “Spillways” (plus de 10 millions de vues sur YouTube)

BRING ME THE HORIZON– LosT
BRING ME THE HORIZON sort nouveau single “LosT” illustré par un clip vidéo réalisé par Jensen Noen. Tourné à Los Angeles, ce mini-film, aussi sanglant que délirant est teinté d’une bonne dose d’humour, puisqu’il met en scène le chanteur Oli Sykes dans une posture inattendue, ainsi que Kevin d’American Pie.
Bring Me the Horizon donnera à Paris, à l’Accor Arena, le mardi 6 juin. (Avec Motionless in White & Spiritbox en 1ère partie)
Après avoir rempli différentes salles de l’hexagone, comme au Zénith de Toulouse en février dernier, et foulé la scène de festivals tels que le Main Square, Rock en Seine ou le Hellfest, c’est la première fois que Bring Me The Horizon se produira dans la fameuse salle située quai de Bercy.
Cette nouvelle étape confirme l’ascension irrésistible du quintette dans notre pays et s’inscrit dans la lignée du succès que le groupe remporte en Europe et en Grande-Bretagne.
AVATAR- Chimp Mosh Pit
Une fois de plus les suédois font trembler les murs avec un vidéo clip totalement délirant pour la chanson “Chimp Mosh Pit” est extrait de “Dance Devil Dance” leur dernier album en date.
Après leurs 3 concerts archi complets donnés en France en mars dernier, Avatar retourne dans l’arène avec Gojira au Festival de Nîmes le 2 juillet 2023.
GRETA VAN FLEET – Meeting the Master
GRETA VAN FLEET ont annoncé la sortie de son 3ème album, Starcatcher, le 21 Juillet 2023 ! Produit par Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Slash, Rival Sons et enregistré aux mythiques RCA Studios de Nashville.
Premier superbe extrait Meeting The Master est déjà disponible et il est accompagné d’un tout aussi magnifique vidéoclip.
Quel incroyable parcours pour ce jeune groupe de Michigan ! Après leur premier concert en France aux Étoiles devant 350 personnes en 2018, suivi par leurs performances au Download Festival et à L’Élysée Montmartre la même année (j’y étais à tous les trois) et au Zénith Paris en 2019, voilà que le groupe américain annonce leur retour en France à l’Accor Arena le 9 novembre 2023 !

BLACK SABBATH – The Mob Rules
BLACK SABBATH – « LIVE EVIL » fête ses 40 ans avec une Super Deluxe Edition !
En novembre 2022 BMG rééditait deux monuments de l’histoire du Hard Rock : « Heaven And Hell » et « Mob Rules », deux albums que Black Sabbath, avait respectivement enregistrés en 1980 et 1981, avec Ronnie James Dio au chant.
Aujourd’hui, l’annonce de la sortie, le 2 juin prochain, d’une Super Deluxe Edition du « Live Evil » vient superbement couronner une période phare de la carrière du groupe de Birmingham.
Marquant le 40ème anniversaire de ce double album, cette version « ultime » sera disponible en coffret 4 CD, coffret 4 vinyles et digital.
La version initiale de l’album a été spécialement remastérisée par Andy Pearce, alors qu’un nouveau mix a été créé, à partir des pistes analogiques originales, par Wyn Davis, collaborateur de longue date du groupe
Ces luxueux coffrets comprennent également un livre richement illustré, ainsi qu’une reproduction du programme et l’affiche de la tournée « Mob Rules », durant laquelle ce live exceptionnel a été capturé. Une très belle occasion de découvrir cet album que je ne connaissais pas et un magnifique cadeau pour les collectionneurs.
DEF LEPPARD– Animal
Encore auréolé du succès de “Diamond Star Halos”, son dernier album studio sorti en mai 2022, et que le groupe s’apprête à être l’une des têtes d’affiche du prochain HELLFEST, Def Leppard a annoncé la sortie le 19 mai 2023 de l’un des projets les plus ambitieux de sa déjà prolifique carrière : Drastic Symphonies”
En effet, ces dignitaires du rock britannique se sont associés au non moins prestigieux Royal Philharmonic Orchestra pour réimaginer et enregistrer les plus grands titres de leur répertoire.
Cette union entre hymnes rock et musique classique a pour résultat un album euphorique et exaltant présentant des compositions radicalement réarrangées par Eric Gorfain.
Très enthousiastes lorsqu’ils évoquent le sujet, les musiciens étaient déterminés à redéfinir la formule du “rock orchestral”. C’est pourquoi Def Leppard a délibérément déconstruit ses propres compositions afin de les rebâtir sur de nouvelles fondations où, en plus de la performance du RPO, sont venues s’ajouter de nouvelles parties de chant et de guitare.
Produit par le groupe en collaboration avec Nick Patrick – un spécialiste en la matière connus pour ses productions avec Elvis, Roy Orbison, Beach Boys, Buddy Holly, Bing Crosby – et enregistré aux célèbres Abbey Road Studios en mars 2022, “Drastic Symphonies” présente une approche audacieuse de 15 grandes chansons de Def Leppard dont la plupart ont côtoyé le sommet des charts au moment de leur sortie originale.

Next week, let’s celebrate METALLICA!!! One month after the release of their fantastic new album 72 Seasons, the Four Horsemen will take control of Paris on May 17, 18 and 19!
As you might know, 72 Seasons went straight to No. 1 on the best-selling charts in France and continues to crack in the Top 10 of most European charts. Full throttle intensity, high speed energy, massive riffs, dazzling rhythm, powerful vocals, darkness and vulnerability…, Metallica’s new album is a marathon of relentless anthems! A thrilling sound experience from start to finish!
For me, this is the best METALLICA since the Black Album! Lux Æterna ,72 Seasons, If Darkness Had a Son or Inamorata, I hope we will have the opportunity to headbanging next week during the two “No repeat” shows scheduled at the Stade de France, on May 17 and May 19. For each one the band will perform a different Set List and different opening bands (May 17th– Five Fingers Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills and May 19th – Architects and Mammout WVH).
And that’s not all, in between, on Thursday, May 18, bank holiday, fans of the band will have the opportunity to attend from 1:30 pm in the prestigious cinema Le Grand Rex to the 3 emblematic films dedicated to Metallica – “Cliff ‘Em All”, “Cunning Stunts” and “Orgullo, Pasion y Gloria: Tres Noches En La Ciudad de Mexico”.
Also, on May 18th at 20:00, different actors of the French “metal” scene will meet on stage at the Bataclan, to celebrate Metallica through a concert event called “Play ‘Em All”.
On the occasion of this unique and exceptional evening, Mass Hysteria, Loudblast, Skip The Use, Tagada Jones, Flockos & Manard, Ultra Vomit, Landmvrks, Pogo Car Crash Control and Tribute to Thrash will cover, together or separately, different songs from the Metallica repertoire.
A moment that will not fail to be fun, but also moving when we remember that in June 2003, James, Lars, Kirk and Robert had recorded, in this same room, their live album “Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité, Metallica! “. In opening of Metallica on Friday, May 19 we can see Mammoth WVH. The band of Wolfgang Van Halen (Eddie Van Halen’s son) will release a second album “MAMMOTH II” on August 4, 2023 recorded under the direction of Michael “Elvis” Baskette [Alter Bridge, Slash] at the famous 5150 Studio.
After a promising start that resulted in a GRAMMY nomination and an impressive series of concerts around the world, Mammoth WVH has undoubtedly made a name for itself on the international rock scene.
This new album goes straight to the point by eyeing more “heavy” trends while keeping a very melodic guideline more than promising as evidenced by this new single “Like a Pastime”. Here is how Wolfgang, talented multi-instrumentalist talks about this song: “This song revolves around a rhythmic signature in 4 beats, but with a polyrhythm on top. It was precisely when I was teaching my fiancée what polyrhythm is and I came across this idea. The bass drums are getting bigger. It’s definitely one of my favorite tracks and a completely different atmosphere than the first album”

DUFF MCKAGAN – This Is The Song
With his poignant new track, This Is The Song, DUFF MCKAGAN participates in Mental Health Awareness Month. The song is part of the eponymous three-song EP produced by Martin Feveyear (Mark Lanegan, Brandi Carlile) and which marks the return of Duff McKagan as a soloist.
THIS IS THE SONG was written in the middle of a panic attack,” McKagan said. “I couldn’t breathe and I couldn’t see clearly, but as a last resort I fortunately found my guitar as a refuge. By holding on to my instrument, playing a few chords while humming melodies, I was able to start coming out of that hole. For those of you who have never had such an experience, consider yourselves happy. For those of you who know what I’m talking about, know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE!”
In addition to “This Is The Song“, this EP includes “It Can’t Come Too Soon” (featuring the voice of Shaina Sheperd, singer, songwriter, music educator and community organizer based in Seattle, WA), as well as “Pass Me By” which draws its inspiration from the adventure of an armed woman riding her motorcycle through the Cascade Mountains. The French tour of the tireless band GHOST starts on May 21st – two of 8 concerts are already sold out(Rennes and Lille). BRING ME THE HORIZON releases new single “LosT” illustrated by a music video directed by Jensen Noen. Shot in Los Angeles, this mini-film, as bloody as delirious is tinged with a good dose of humor, since it features the singer Oli Sykes in an unexpected posture, as well as Kevin from American Pie.
Bring Me the Horizon will perform in Paris, at the Accor Arena, on Tuesday, June 6. (With Motionless in White & Spiritbox in Part 1).
After filling various venues in France, such as at the Zenith in Toulouse last February, and stepping on the stage of festivals such as Main Square, Rock en Seine or Hellfest, this is the first time that Bring Me The Horizon will perform in the famous venue on Quai de Bercy. This new step confirms the irresistible rise of the quintet in our country and is in line with the success that the group achieves in Europe and Great Britain.

Once again, the Swedes metalheads shake the walls with a totally crazy video for the song “Chimp Mosh Pit” out from “Dance Devil Dance” their latest album to date.
After their 3 sold-out concerts in France last March, Avatar returns to the arena with Gojira at the Festival de Nîmes on July 2, 2023.
GRETA VAN FLEET – Meeting the Master
GRETA VAN FLEET has announced the release of her 3rd album, Starcatcher, on July 21, 2023! Produced by Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Slash, Rival Sons and recorded at the legendary RCA Studios in Nashville. The first superb single, Meeting The Master, is already available and it is accompanied by an equally beautiful music video.
What an incredible journey for this young band from Michigan! After their first concert in France at Les Étoiles in front of 350 people in 2018, followed by their performances at the Download Festival and at the Élysée Montmartre the same year (I was there for the 3 of them) and at the Zénith Paris in 2019, the American band announces their return to France at the Accor Arena on November 9, 2023! Long live Rock’n’Roll !

BLACK SABBATH – The Mob Rules
BLACK SABBATH – “LIVE EVIL” celebrates its 40th anniversary with a Super Deluxe Edition! In November 2022 BMG reissued two monuments of the history of Hard Rock: “Heaven And Hell” and “Mob Rules”, two albums that Black Sabbath, had recorded respectively in 1980 and 1981, with Ronnie James Dio on vocals.
The announcement of the release, on June 2, of a Super Deluxe Edition of the “Live Evil” superbly crowns a key period in the career of the Birmingham band. Marking the 40th anniversary of this double album, this “ultimate” version will be available in 4-CD box, 4-vinyl and digital box.
The initial version of the album was specially remastered by Andy Pearce, while a new mix was created, from the original analog tracks, by long-time collaborator Wyn Davis. These luxurious box sets also include a richly illustrated book, as well as a reproduction of the program and the poster of the “Mob Rules” tour, during which this exceptional live was captured.
A great opportunity to discover this album that I never listen to and a wonderful gift for fan collectors.
DEF LEPPARD- Animal
Still crowned by the success of “Diamond Star Halos”, their latest studio album released in May 2022, and before preforming at HELLFEST as headliners, Def Leppard announced the release on May 19, 2023 of one of the most ambitious projects of thir already prolific career: Drastic Symphonies
Indeed, these dignitaries of British rock have teamed up with the equally prestigious Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to reimagine and record the greatest titles of their discograpy. This union between rock anthems and classical music results in a euphoric and exhilarating album featuring compositions radically rearranged by Eric Gorfain.
Very enthusiastic when they talk about the subject, the musicians were determined to redefine the formula of “orchestral rock”. This is why, Def Leppard deliberately deconstructed his own compositions in order to rebuild them on new foundations where, in addition to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performance, new vocal and guitar parts were added.
Produced by the band in collaboration with Nick Patrick – a subject matter specialist known for his productions with Elvis, Roy Orbison, Beach Boys, Buddy Holly, Bing Crosby – and recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios in March 2022, “Drastic Symphonies” presents a bold approach to 15 great Def Leppard songs, most of which were near the top of the charts at the time of their original release.
