“Écoutez notre musique, mangez vos légumes et faites de votre mieux” – voilà le message que le groupe américain BADFLOWER souhaiterait transmettre à leurs fans.
En avril dernier, les quatre musiciens : Josh Katz (chant, guitare), Alex Espiritu (basse), Anthony Sonetti (batterie), Danny Hechter (guitare qui remplaçait temporairement Joey Morrow) étaient à Paris pour leur tout premier concert dans la capitale Française.
A cette occasion, j’ai eu la chance de les rencontrer et d’avoir une conversation très sympathique. A quelques jours avant leur deuxième concert à Paris, le 16 novembre à La Boule Noire, je vous laisse découvrir plus sur les Californiens et leur musique puissante et intense.
L’amour, la dépendance, la dépression, l’anxiété, la peur de vieillir, la cruauté envers les animaux, être végétalien, tous ces thèmes sont présentes dans leur chansons grungy and blues rock. Et leur messages sont bien reçu.
Interview
C’est votre première fois à Paris ?
Alex : Oui, la première fois et je n’ai pas encore fait le tour de la ville. Mais Danny s’est réveillé tôt ce matin.
Danny : J’ai marché dans le quartier (11eme) et c’est magnifique. Beaucoup de disquaires, de librairies et nous avons déjeuné dans un restaurant vegan juste à côté. C’était vraiment super. J’ai apprécié et je voudrais voir plus. J’aimerais avoir plus de temps à Paris.
Que pensez-vous des fans en Europe ?
Alex : Ils sont cool. La façon dont ils agissent, c’est un peu différent des États-Unis, mais dans le bon sens parce que je pense qu’ils s’investissent plus. Ils nous regardent jouer attentivement et ils ne sont pas turbulents et fous. C’est très authentique. La foule ici viens au concert juste pour nous voir. C’est un bon public.
Danny : Je trouve qu’ils sont très absorbés par ce que nous faisons et c’est agréable de voir les gens vraiment prêter attention au concert. Et il y a moins de téléphones portables.
Comment vous avez formé BADFLOWER ?
Alex : Josh et Joey se sont rencontrés à l’école de musique et ils ont formé le groupe ensemble. J’avais des amis communs avec Josh et comme ils étaient à la recherche d’un bassiste à l’époque, j’ai fini par rejoindre le groupe. Nous avons trouvé Sonetti (Anthony) à travers un autre groupe d’amis, donc le groupe et le fruit d’un effort collectif. C’était il y a environ 6 ans. Nous avons vécu ensemble pendant un an, on a fait Temper notre EP et et on a commencé notre premier album. C’était Fun !
Et nom de BADFLOWER, il vient d’où ?
Alex : C’est une histoire horrible. Tellement ennuyeuse. Je dirais seulement qu’il y a 2 mots qui sont entre en collision et le résultat c’est nous.
Ok, I’m sick. C’est votre premier album. Comment l’avez-vous construit ?
Alex : Toutes les paroles sont des paroles personnelles de Josh. Et pour écrire la musique, c’est un effort collectif. Nous nous réunissons dans une pièce et nous commençons à jammer ensemble sur des riffs jusqu’à construire une chanson. Je pense que nous nous respectons tous suffisamment pour accepter les critiques réciproques. Nous avons fait beaucoup de chansons au fil des années. En fait, nous avons commencé à enregistrer l’album à Burbank à Ocean Studios et nous avons fini de l’enregistrer dans le centre-ville de Los Angeles avec notre producteur Noah Shain. Nous avons pu consacrer plusieurs mois pour pouvoir le terminer.
Votre chanson préférée sur l’album et pourquoi ?
Alex : XanaX parce que c’est chaotique. L’idée de cette chanson est de démontrer l’attaque d’anxiété, l’attaque de panique et je pense qu’elle incarne vraiment ce message.
Danny : Girlfriend – j’aime les riffs et les rock vibes classiques.
Et jouer en Live ?
Danny : Je pense que Heroin c’est ma préférée live juste parce que beaucoup de gens chantent et j’aime l’effet » vaisseau spatial » de la pédale.
Alex : Je vais dire Ghost parce que aussi la foule chante avec nous. C’est tellement enrichissant, réconfortant et excitant de voir ça et de l’entendre tous les soirs.
Ghost n’est pas une chanson pour faire la fête. C’est une chanson très personnelle et je suis heureux de savoir que nous aidons les gens, nous leur apportons un certain réconfort. …
Nous rencontrons des gens qui nous disent merci, merci de nous avoir donné une voix et de nous avoir aidé à ne pas nous sentir seuls. C’est génial.

Que pensez-vous de ce grand succès de la chanson Ghost?
Alex : C’est accablant. C’est le moment auquel j’y ai pensé depuis que j’ai 13 ans et que je voulais rejoindre un groupe de rock. Voir votre chanson et vidéo dans les charts et voir tous ces gens qui se reconnaissent dans la chanson c’est énorme. C’est très enrichissant de savoir que je fais partie d’un groupe qui écrit de la musique et que les gens s’identifient avec elle. Parce que ce n’est pas une chanson pour faire la fête. C’est une chanson très personnelle et je suis heureux de savoir que nous aidons les gens, nous leur apportons un certain réconfort.
Justement votre musique parle de problèmes, d’émotions, de la santé mentale. Josh écrit les paroles, mais est-ce que vous pouvez dire tous que la musique est une thérapie pour vous ?
Alex : Oui, absolument oui, je pense que c’est à tous les niveaux. Je ne peux pas parler au nom de Josh, mais je sais que pour lui jouer des chansons et même le processus d’écriture de musique est une thérapie. C’est agréable de pouvoir mettre du son sur ces sentiments et les doutes que vous avez. Et même écouter de la musique c’est une thérapie. Je veux dire l’un de mes groupes préférés est The Cure et leur musique est triste, ils sont déprimés mais j’ai toujours trouvé réconfortant d’écouter tous leurs albums, même aujourd’hui. C’est une thérapie.
Quel est le feed back de vos fans ?
Alex : Les commentaires sont positifs. Nous rencontrons des gens qui nous disent merci, merci de nous avoir donné une voix et de nous avoir aidé à ne pas nous sentir seuls. C’est génial.
Parlez-moi de la chanson Die. C’est un hymne anti-Trump ?
Alex : Ce n’est pas seulement anti-Trump, il ya beaucoup de thèmes tout au long de cette chanson. C’est essentiellement une chanson progressiste. Il y a un verse Condemn the scientist and listen to the billionaire You’re such a sucker, you’re so unaware! (Condamner le scientifique et écouter le milliardaire tu es un tel pigeon, tu es tellement inconscient) ça veut dire cessez d’écouter les gens qui ont une influence politique car ils ont beaucoup d’argent et commencez à écouter les gens qui sont instruits sur le sujet. Le truc de Trump c’est vrai, mais ça a aussi une valeur de choc. Il y a aussi un verse vegan là-dedans steak is tasty, so why should you care? (Le steak est savoureux, alors pourquoi devriez-vous vous soucier ?)
Il y a beaucoup de thèmes progressistes dans cette chanson.
Est-ce que cette chanson est bien accueilli partout aux États-Unis ? Quelle est la réaction des gens quand vous la jouait sur scène ?
Alex : Je dirais que je suis nerveux en la jouant dans certains états, mais en général ça se passe bien. Il y a une partie dans la chanson où on demande au public d’applaudir et les gens applaudissent et puis on se dit ok, ils savent de quoi on parle. Ils sont au courant du message. Et là parfois, certains soirs, il y a des gens qui s’éloignent. Mais je pense que si vous n’aimez pas les paroles au moins vous aimez la musique. Il y en a pour tous les goûts. C’est une bonne chanson.
Il y a une chanson que j’aime – Murder Games – c’est contre la cruauté envers les animaux.
Alex : Oui, moi et Josh, nous sommes végétaliens et cette chanson transmet un message important pour nous. Nous espérons que cela changera les mentalités et ce qu’elle fait. Nous avons reçu des tweets de gens qui étaient comme ok, j’ai entendu cette chanson et vous m’avez fait réfléchi. Je vais essayer de devenir végétalien et voir comment ça se passe. C’est vraiment cool et inspirant.
Qui sont les artistes qui vous influencé ?
Danny : En tant que guitariste, je dirais les classiques : Slash, Joe Perry, Jimmy Page et modernes comme John Mayer, Nick Perri. Il y a tellement de grands guitaristes. Je pense que je ne peux même pas réduire la liste car beaucoup de gens m’ont influencé. En ce qui concerne les auteurs de chansons, je dirai Bon Dylan, Tom Waits. J’aime beaucoup Josh Tillman qui joue sous le surnom de Father John Misty. Je pense que c’est vraiment mon auteur-compositeur-interprète préféré.
Alex : Tu connais beaucoup de gars…
Danny : Tu n’as jamais écouté jamais Father John Misty ? Je pense vraiment que c’est un artiste exceptionnel. J’écoute un peu de tout mais en tant que guitariste, c’est plutôt les classiques.
Alex : Nos influences vont de Cindy Lauper à Tom Waits en passant par Eagles of Death Metal et Nothing but Thieves. Nous aimons la musique de tous les styles. Nous écoutons Billie Eilish en ce moment. Elle est une grande interprète et compositrice. J’aime la bonne musique.
Danny : Je pense qu’il n’est pas bon de s’enfermer dans un genre et de ne pas écouter les choses parce qu’elles ne correspondent pas à votre style. Il suffit de s’adapter à votre ambiance. Il est important d’apprécier le bon art.
Quel serait votre premier souvenir musical ?
Alex : La première fois que j’ai joué devant des gens avec mon premier groupe. J’ai dû faire un spectacle pour mon collège. Je chantais et je jouais de la guitare à l’époque. Et pour mon premier spectacle. Je jouais devant toute l’école. C’était absolument terrifiant. Il ya un enregistrement vidéo. J’avais 14 ans à l’époque. C’était effrayant.
Danny : Mon premier souvenir musical et d’être assis dans notre maison familiale avec une guitare acoustique et un grand livre appelé The Fake Book qui contentait une interprétation facile de 200 chansons. Alors j’étais assis avec mes parents et j’essayais de jouer ces chansons pour eux et ils ont apprécié. J’étais à l’école primaire à l’époque.
Quel est votre style de mode en général et sur scène ?
Alex : Mon truc est que j’aime que mon pantalon soit court pour montrer mes chaussettes. C’est essentiel.
Donc, tu as beaucoup de chaussettes
Alex : C’est vrai. J’ai beaucoup de chaussettes bizarres. J’aime ça. Sur scène, pendant longtemps, l’uniforme du groupe était le noir. Donc, je m’habillais en noir avec de chaussettes blanches. Mais je pense que notre style va évoluer et vous allez voir un peu moins de noir sur scène et plus de couleurs. Je ne sais pas si difficile de tourner avec une tenue. J’ai apporté probablement 5 tenues pour toute l’Europe et je ne veux pas porter ma tenue de scène tous les jours.
A ce moment Josh nous rejoint à la table de l’interview.
Alex : Hey, Josh nous parlons de la mode ici. (à moi) C’est lui Mister Fashion ici.
Josh : Non, je ne suis pas. J’aime la mode mais je ne connais rien à la mode.
De toute façon ta nouvelle coupe de cheveux est très bien !
Josh : Merci beaucoup ! Eh bien, je peux te dire que je porte beaucoup de vêtements vegan parce que je suis vegan et je tiens vraiment à ce sujet. Sinon, je porte des chemises oversize et des pantalons skinny.
As-tu quelque chose que tu prends avec toi toujours quand tu pars en tournée ?
Josh : Xanax, mon téléphone, mes cartes de crédit.
Comme tu nous as rejoint Josh, parle nous de ta chanson préférée sur l’album ?
Josh : C’est Promise me. C’est ma préférée parce que c’est comme une histoire du début jusqu’à la fin. C’est très triste. Elle parle du fait de grandir, de vieillir et de perdre sa jeunesse. Et cela ne signifie pas seulement de perdre la jeunesse physiquement mais aussi mentalement … comme la première fois que vous êtes tombé amoureux, c’est toujours le plus puissant. Je pense à ma relation au collège, ma première rupture. Rien n’a été aussi douloureux que ce sentiment. C’est triste de voir comment tout dans la vie devient un peu plus usé, blasé parce que nous avons fait toutes ces choses plusieurs fois. C’est la peur de vieillir. Et en plus de ça, mon visage va être tout ridé. Ça me fait flipper. Ça me fait peur.
Il ne faut pas…
Josh : Je suis sûr que mon esprit va changer avec l’âge, mais pour l’instant, je n’ai pas encore 30 ans et je ne veux pas vieillir. Je suppose qu’une fois que j’aurai la trentaine ou la quarantaine, j’aurai de nouvelles choses plus excitantes à faire et que je resterai motivé pour d’être en vie.
Alex : Je pensais que tu vas dire que tu auras un nouveau visage à 30 ans.
Josh : Oui, comme faire la chirurgie, tirer un peu.
Et si on trouvait la pilule miracle pour rester jeune ?
Josh : Comme la pilule du vampire ? Mais dans ce cas voilà mon inquiétude. Cette pilule sort, elle préserve votre vie, elle vous donne la vie éternelle. Que faire si elles pilule sort quand vous avez 60ans. Cela veut dire que je vais préserver mon moi à 60 ans ? Parce que ça ne m’intéresse pas. J’ai besoin de la pilule il y a 5 ans. C’est mes 24 ans que je voudrais garder.
Et comme nous parlons un peu science-fiction si vous étiez un super-héros qui vous aimeriez être ?
Josh : Superman
Danny : Je ne connais pas du tout ce truc de super-héros alors ne sais pas quoi dire …
Alex : Dit Captain Marvel – beaucoup de pouvoirs
Danny : Ok donc Capitan Marvel …
Alex : Spiderman. Et quand je mourrai, je veux être dans les bras de Tony Sparks, de la même façon.

Et qui sont les artistes qui t’ont le plus influencé musicalement ?
Josh : J’adore les années 90, la musique rock. J’adore l’attitude, les paroles. J’aime la musique folk, surtout le folk plus récent comme Bright Eyes et Death Cab pour Cutie, ils écrivent vraiment de bonnes chansons.
Qu’aimeriez-vous faire à part la musique ?
Josh : J’aime construire des choses. J’aime travailler avec du bois, construire des décors pour des vidéo clips ou n’importe quoi avec du bois et du métal. Je construis la structure en bois en vidéo Ghost, la scène du mariage.
Danny : Je ferais quelque chose qui est lié au sauvetage des chiens abandonnés. Comme les sauver et essayer de trouver leur maison pour eux.
Alex : Oh mon Dieu, probablement video gamer professionnel ou critique culinaire. Envoyez-moi partout dans le monde pour manger et en parler.
Quel est donc votre plat préféré ?
Alex : Riz blanc- haricots noirs
Josh : Nourriture mexicaine et la nourriture thaïlandaise. Nous mangeons beaucoup de thaï car c’est facile quand on est vegan. Quand nous voyageons nous trouvons un bon restaurant thaï, c’est génial pour nous

“Listen to our music, eat your veggies, be a good person and do your best” – this would be the message that American band BADFLOWER has for their fans.
Last April, the four musicians: Josh Katz (vocals, guitar), Alex Espiritu (bass), Anthony Sonetti (drums), Danny Hechter (guitar – which at the time temporarily replaced Joey Morrow) were in Paris for their first ever concert in the French capital.
On this occasion, I had the chance to meet them and to have a nice chat. So now, some days before their second gig in Paris, on 16th of November At La Boule Noire, I let you discover more about the Californians and their powerful and intense music.
Love, addiction, depression, anxiety, fear of getting old, cruelty to animals, being vegan, all these themes are treated thorough their raging grunge and groovy blues.
First time in Paris?
Alex: Yes, first time but I did not get sightseeing at all. Danny woke up early
Danny: Yeah, I walk up in the neighbourhood and it’s beautiful – a lot of record stores, book stores and we get lunch in the vegan place next door. It was really great. I enjoyed and I want to see more. I wish to have more time here.
You guys were playing first time in Europe. What do you think about the fans in Europe?
Alex: They are cool. The way they act it’s a little bit different from the States but in a good way because I think they are more invested in watching us perform. I mean, watching us playing the music and no so much being rowdy and crazy.
Danny: it seems like they are very engrossed in what we are doing and it’s nice to look out and see people really paying attention. And less cell phones.
Alex: That’s right. Much less cell phones. It’s very genuine. The crowd here is just invested to come and see us. It’s a good crowd with good people.
Tell me how you formed BADFLOWER
Alex: Josh and Joey met in music school and they started the band together. I had mutual friends between me and Josh, so they were looking for a bass player at the time and I ended up joining the band. We found Sonetti (Anthony) through another group of friends, so it was a kid of collective effort. It was about 6 years ago. We lived together for a year, that’s how we make Temper our EP and we started our first album. It’s been fun and very dizzy!
How did you find the name BADFLOWER?
Alex: it’s an awful story. Just so boring. I would only say that there are 2 words that smashed together that means us.
Ok, I’m sick – it’s your debut album. how did you build it and put the songs together?
Alex: All the lyrics are Josh personal lyrics. When it comes to write music, it’s a collective effort. We get together in a room and we start jamming together on riffs and we just build the song. I think we all respect each other enough to be able to criticism between. We had a lot of songs over the years. Actually, we started recording the album in Burbank at Ocean Studios and we finished recording it in downtown LA with our producer Noah Shain. We were able to devoted a number of months to be able to finish it.
Your favourite song on the album and why?
Alex: XanaX becauseit’s chaotic. The whole point in that song is this idea of demonstrate the anxiety attack, panic attack and I think that really embodies that quiet well.
Danny: Girlfriend – it’s the riffs and it’s kind of classic rock vibes and I like Josh’s riffs on it.
How about playing live? It is the same favourite or a different one?
Danny: I think that Heroin might be my favourite playing live, just because a lot of people are singing and that pedal is like a spaceship effect during one of the verses.
Alex: I guess I will say Ghost because also the crowd is singing back at us. it’s so fulfilling and it is very comforting and exciting to see that and hear it every night.
Ghost is not a party song, at any means, it’s a very personal song and I am happy to know that we are helping people, this is providing some comfort…
We meet people who said thank you, thanks you for giving me a voice and helping me not feel alone. It’s great.

What do you think about this great success of Ghost?
Alex: it’s overwhelming. This is a kind of moment I thought about it since I was 13 and wanted to join a rock band. Seeing your song on the charts and on the videos and all these people relating to the song it’s huge. It’s very fulfilling to know that I am a part of a band that writes music and people are connecting with it, on a really deep level. Because this is not a party song, at any means, it’s a very personal song and I am happy to know that we are helping people, this is providing some comfort.
Your music is taking about problems, feelings, mental health. Josh is writing the lyrics but is music a therapy for you?
Alex: yes, absolutely yes, I think it’s across the board. I can’t speak for Josh but I know that for him performing the songs and even music writing process is a therapy. It’s nice to be able to put sound on those feelings and doubts that you have and even listening to music. I mean one of my favourite band is The Cure and they are very sad, very depressing. I always found comfort listening to all their albums even this day. It’s a therapy.
What is the feedback of your fans?
Alex: the feedback is positive. We meet people who said thank you, thanks you for giving me a voice and helping me not feel alone. It’s great.
Tell me about the song Die. Will you say that is anti-Trump anthem?
Alex: it’s not only anti-Trump,
there are a lot of themes throughout that song. It’s basically a progressive song.
There is a line Condemn the scientist and listen to the
billionaire
You’re such a sucker, you’re so unaware! that’s across
the board. Stop listening to the people who have political influence as they
have a lot of money and start listen to the people who are educated on the
subject. The Trump think it’s true but it’s also shock value. There is also a
vegan line in there too steak is tasty, so why should you care? there are a lot of
progressive themes in there.
Is it welcome everywhere in US? What is the people’s reaction when you play it live?
Alex: I would say that there are a couple of nights when I get nervous playing in certain states but it always goes up well for the most parts. There is a part in the song where we get the audience to clap and the people are clapping and then you said ok, they know what the song about. They know about the message. And sometimes there are people who kind of drift away. But I think that if you do not like the lyrics, at least you like the music. There is something for everyone. It’s a good song.
There is song I love – Murder Games – it’s against the cruelty to the animals. I think you guys are vegan.
Alex: Me and Josh are vegan and this song is just an important message for us. We are hoping that this is changing minds and it actually has. We have got tweets from people who were like ok, I’ve heard this song and you got me thinking and I am gonna try to become vegan and see what it’s all about it. That’s really cool and inspiring
What is the artist that influence you more to become a musician?
Danny: As a guitar player I would say the classic: Slash, Joe Perry, Jimmy Page and modern like John Mayer, Nick Perri. There are so many great players. I think that I cannot even narrow down the list as I can drive influence from so many people. As far as song writers, I will say Bon Dylan, Tom Waits. I really like Josh Tilman who plays under the moniker Father John Misty. I think is really my favourite singer- songwriter.
Alex: You know a lot of guys
Danny: You never listen to Father John Misty? I really think he is an outstanding song writer. So, it’s all over the place for me but guitar wise is the classics
Alex: Our influences range from Cindy Lauper to Tom Waits to Eagles of Death Metal, Nothing but Thieves. We like music from across all genders. Even we are listening to Billie Eilish at the moment. she is great performer and great song writer. I like good art, all around.
Danny: I think is not good to lock yourself in one gender and not listening things because they fall under your gender. Just fit your vibe. It’s important to appreciate good art.
What would be your first musical memory?
Alex: The very first time I performed in front of people in my very first band. I had to do a Pepper Alley show for my middle school. I was singing and playing guitar at the time and first show ever when I am playing to the entire school. It was absolutely terrifying. There is a video tape of. It was nuts. I was 14 at the time. It was scary
Danny: I think that my musical memory playing, it was sitting in our family home with an acoustic guitar and this big book called The Fake book. It was like an easy rendition of 200 songs. So, I was sitting down with my parents and try to play these songs for them and they enjoyed. I was in elementary school at the time.
Let’s talk fashion now. What is you fashion style in general and on stage?
Alex: I think that one staple is I like my pants short. I like my socks showing.
So, you have a lot of socks
Alex: That’s right. I have a lot of crazy weird socks. I like that. On stage, for a long while the band uniform was black black black. So, I wear all black and white socks. I think that our style is evolving for sure, so I think you are going to see a little bit less black on stage and more colours on stage. I do not know it is so hard to tour with an outfit. I have brought probably 5 items of clothing for all Europe and I do not want to wear my stage outfit every day.

Alex: Hey, Josh we are talking about fashion here. What do wear on stage in everyday life. (to me) He is Mister Fashion here
Josh: No, I am not at all. I love fashion but I do not know anything about fashion.
I do not think so, anyway your new haircut is great!
Josh: oh, Thank you very much! Well, I can tell that I wear a lot of vegan merchandise as I am vegan and I really care about it. If not, I wear baggy shirts and skinny pants.
Do you have something that you take with you always when you are on tour?
Josh: Xanax, all along with my phone, my credit cards.
As you come to talk with us, now please tell me also what is your favourite song on the album?
Josh: Promise me. It’s my favourite because it’s like a story from the beginning, middle to the end. It’s very sad, it’s about growing up and getting old and loosing youth. And that does not just mean physically losing youth but like the mental idea… you know the first-time time you fell in love it is always the most powerful. I think about my middle school relationship, my first break up. Nothing was as painful as that feeling. It’s sad how everything in life become a bit more blamed as we have done all of those things so many times. It’s the fear of becoming old. And on top of that, my face is gonna be all wrinkly. That’s freaks me out. That’s scares me.
You do not have to …
Josh: I am sure my mind is gonna change when I get older but as for now, I am still not 30 yet and I do not want to get older. I guess that once I am in my 30s or 40s, I will have new more exciting things to do and keep me motivating to be alive.
Alex: I thought that you are gonna say that I am going to have a new face when I get 30.
Josh: Yeah, do all the surgery, just tighten it.
What if somebody will find the miracle – just take a pill and stay young
Josh: Like a vampire pill? the only thing is and that is my worry. That pill comes out, that preserve your life, that preserves you forever. What if they pill comes out when you are 60? Is that means that my 60years self is preserved? Because I am not interested. I need the pill 5 years ago. It is 24 that I would like to preserve.
And as we are at this point, if you were a superhero who you would you like to be!
Josh: Superman
Danny: I am not into this super hero issues, so not sure what to say…
Alex: Say Captain Marvel – overpower
Danny: Ok then Capitan Marvel …
Alex: Spiderman. And when I die, I want to be held in the Tony Sparks arms, same way.
I’ve been writing songs since as long as I can remember. Really long time. I am still not good at it but I do my best …. that’s the theme of our band – do your best.

Josh, when did you start to write your lyrics?
Josh: I’ve been writing songs since as long as I can remember. Really long time. I am still not good at it but I do my best ….

And who are the artists they most influenced you musically?
Josh: I love the 90’s, rock music. I love the attitude, the lyrics. I like folk music, especially newer folk like Bright Eyes and Death Cab for Cutie. They really write good songs.
What would you do if not music?
Josh: I like to build things. I like working with wood, do building sets for music videos or anything with wood and metal. I build the wooden structure in video Ghost all around the wedding, the stage.
Danny: Something that I would do it’s not related with music. It’s something related with dogs’ rescue like trying to fostering dogs, rescuing dogs and try to find home for them.
Alex: Oh God, probably professional gamer or food taster, foods critic. Send me around the world to eat and talk about it.
What is your favourite food?
Alex: White rice- black beans
Josh: Mexican food and Thai food. We eat a lot of Thai food as it is easy to get vegan. So, when we travel around if we find a Thai food place, that’s great for us
For the end, what is your message to your fans
Josh: Just listen to our music
Alex: Eat your veggies and do your best.
Danny: I would say be a mensch
Josh: what is a mensch?
Danny: Be a good person – show respect it is in Hebrew
