ROCK EN SEINE – 24-26th of AUGUST 2018- SPECIAL PLAYLIST

Industrie, Cascade, Bosquet, Grande Scène…  ces noms sont familiers aux aficionados du Festival Rock en Seine, le rendez-vous musical incontournable de la fin de l’été, qui se déroulera cette année du 24 au 26 août 2018 au magnifique Domaine de Saint Cloud, en bordure de Paris.

Même si le rock n’est plus vraiment en tête d’affiche, la  programmation éclectique comprenant des artists comme Justice, PNL, Macklemore ou Thirty  Second To Mars promettent une belle ambiance pour faire la fête jusqu’au bout de la nuit.

60 artistes talentueux à voir, revoir ou découvrir, venus de tous les  univers : électro,  groove, pop, rock, blues, hip hop et d’autres musiques urbaines se produiront dans un de plus beaux parcs  de France. Un évènement qui nous fera vibrer.

Voilà une sélection de concerts  à ne pas rater.

MNNQNS– Les Mannequins rouannais étaient déjà présents à Rock en Seine l’année dernière sur la scène Firestone. Depuis, ils ont gagné le Prix Ricard Live Music 2018, ils ont pas mal tournés en France et en Europe, ils ont sorti un nouvel EP « Advertisement » et ils travaillent actuellement sur leur premier album. Pas mal, non ?

Post punk, indie puissant et nerveux, riffs musclés et voix furieuse, les jeunes rockers se donnent à fond sur scène. A voir absolument. Cette fois sur la Scène de l’Industrie.

DIE ANTWOORD , le duo Yolandi – Ninja, ont annoncé un 5ème et dernier album « The Book of Zef » pour cette année. Vrai ou pas, voilà une raison de plus pour ne pas rater leur show le 24 août. L’électro pop trash venu de l’Afrique du Sud promet un grand spectacle et une incursion dans une ambiance rave techno garni des effets spéciaux qui vont surement nous submerger.

DEAF HAVANA vient juste de sortir un nouvel album « Rituals », très vite après l’excellent « All These countless Nights » en 2017 et qui avait marqué leur retour au paysage rock alternatif britanique. Si vous aimez le rock énergique, mélodieux avec des refrains catchy, rendez-vous devant le Scène Firestone vendredi soir.

Le même soir l’artiste français mystère qui se presente sous le nom de CARPENTER BRUT, sera présent sur la scène d l’industrie. Des sonorités et une esthétique 80’s, un style qu’on appelle darksynths  – un mélange de  pop, l’électro, métal et film d’horreur-  ce groupe ovni a attiré toute mon attention avec leur premier album sorti en février – « Leather Teeth ». Des clips cinématographiques inspirés des séries B des 80s, ce groupe sera surement une des attractions du festival.

KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD a battu tous les records en sortant pas moins de 5 albums l’année dernière. J’avoue que je n’ai pas encore tout écouté mais leur mélange de style est particulièrement attrayant – rock progressive et psychédélique, garage, folk ou jazz, les rockers australiens ne reculent devant rien et osent tout … il parait que leurs performances live sont spectaculaires.

CIGARETTES AFTER SEX, voilà un nom de groupe pas comme les autres. La superbe voix sensuelle et  androgyne de Greg Gonzales nous invite avec son premier album éponyme dans un voyage romantique et onirique. En live, émotion et nostalgie au programme.

Je me rappelle de la prestation magnétique d’ANNA CALVI en 2011  et j’ai hâte de la revoir cette année juste avant la sortie de son troisième album « Hunter » prévue le 30 août. La belle anglaise, sa voix sublime et sa guitare incendiaire promettent une prestation inoubliable.

OASIS se sont séparés ici même en 2009 …  donc un mauvais souvenir pour LIAM GALLAGHER ? On verra bien… en tous les cas, on avait écouté le Wonderwall de Noel à Lollapalozza  et on espère que ce sera le tour de Liam de l’interpréter samedi 25 août sur la Grande Scène. Car même si ses projets solo ou avec Beady Eye ont reçus des excellents accueils,  les chansons d’Oasis ont toujours le même effet fantastique sur les fans.

Son 5 eme album « REST » nous a tous mis d’accord que l’actrice – compositrice – chanteuse CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG est au sommet de sa créativité. Son électro- pop rock délicat et plein d’émotion nous envoutera dans la soirée de samedi. Soyez là !

L’autre acteur chanteur de la soirée est Jared Leto, le front man de THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS. Fameux pour leurs shows grandioses taillés pour les stades, le trio californien est actuellement en tournée pour leur album « America » avec lequel ils avaient pris un virage plus pop électro. Surement leurs grands succès : This is War , Closer to the Edge ou The Kill ( Bury me)  seront là aussi – On compte sur eux pour enflammer la Grand Scène.

Even if the rock is not anymore a headliner, the eclectic line up and famous names like Justice, PNL, Macklemore, or Thirty Second To Mars promise a great atmosphere.

60 talented artists to see, see again or discover, coming up from all universes: electro, groove, pop, rock, blues, hip hop and other urban music will perform in one of most beautiful park in France.

An event that will make us vibrating and party till the end of the night. Here some shows not to be missed.

MNNQNS – The Mannequins from Rouen performed already at Rock en Seine last year on the Firestone stage. Since then, they won the Prize Ricard Live Music 2018, they toured a lot in France and in Europe, they released a new EP of “Advertisement” and they are currently working on their first album. If you like energetic, melodic rock with catchy choruses, rendez-vous in front of the Firestone Scene Friday night.

The same Friday evening a French mysterious artist called CARPENTER BRUT, will be present on the Scene de l’Industrie. 80s sound and aesthetic, a music style called darksynths – means a mixture of pop, electro, metal, horror movie – this UFO group has drawn my attention with their first album released in February – “Leather Teeth.” Their videos inspired by 80s TV series, this band will surely be one of the attractions of the festival.

I confess I haven’t listened all of them yet but their mix of style is particularly appealing – progressive and psychedelic rock, garage, folk or jazz, the Australian rockers have no limits…and it seems that their performances are spectacular.

CIGARETTES AFTER SEX, a band with a name like no other. Super sensual and androgynous Greg Gonzales’s voice invites us with their self-titled debut album in a romantic and dreamlike journey. In Live, emotion and nostalgia to the program.

I remember ANNA CALVI’s magnetic show in 2011 on the same stage and I can’t wait to see her again this year just before the release of her third album “Hunter” due for 30^th of August. The beauty and the grace of the English girl, her sublime voice and incendiary guitar promise an unforgettable performance.

OASIS split here in 2009…, so a bad memory for LIAM GALLAGHER?  We’ll see… anyway we listened to the Noel’s Wonderwall at Lollapalozza in June and we hope that Liam will sing it also on Saturday 25 August on the Grand Scene. Because even if his solo projects or with Beady Eye ones received excellent critics the Oasis’s Songs have always the same fantastic effect on fans.

Her 5th album “REST” lead us to a consensus – the actress – songwriter – singer CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG is on the top of her creativity. Her delicate, emotional electro – pop rock will certainly put the spell on us in Saturday evening. Be there!

The other actor- singer of the evening is Jared Leto, the front man of THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS. Famous for their grandiose shows tailored for big stadiums, the Californian trio is currently touring for their album “America” with which they had taken a poppier and electro twist. For sure, their hits: This is War, Closer to the Edge or The Kill (Bury me) will be there too – so we count on them to light up La Grande Scene.
