Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown – Blues Rock N’ Roll de Génie à la Maroquinerie, 29.11.2017

(FR) Brillant. Electrique. Généreux. Du Rock N’ Roll comme nous ne l’avons pas vu et entendu depuis longtemps. Une synergie et une osmose incroyable avec le public. Voilà comme je pourrais décrire en quelque mots le concert Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown à la Maroquinerie, Paris, le 29 novembre 2017, faisant partie de Ramblin’ Bones Tour, leur premiere tournée en tête d’affiche. Pour mieux comprendre, il fallait vraiment être là. Récit :

Les 4 garçons arrivent sur scène avec des grands sourires et démarrent en trombe le set avec Backfire, énorme morceau énergique, taillé pour les stades. Car il ne faut pas oublier que les rockers de Nashville ont ouvert pour Aerosmith, AC/DC ou Guns N’Roses donc l’esprit grand aréna, ils connaissent très bien.

Tyler Bryant, le frontman est radieux : veste en cuir cloutée, slim noir, boots en cuir, accompagné par sa guitare rose Fender préférée, usée jusqu’au bois à force de voyager et de recevoir autant d’amour.

Suit Heartland avec ses guitares rugueuses et sa batterie affolante – le public est déjà en délire. La sono est impeccable.

House on Fire, Downtown Tonight, Criminal Imagination, Don’t mind the blood, du Rock N’ Roll pur et dur, enthousiasme hors norme.

Tyler bouge avec grâce et assurance, s’agenouille, joue carrément au nez du premier rang : riffs ravageurs, implacables, parfaits et bien dosés. Il changera plusieurs guitares au cours de la soirée et toutes ont l’air de prendre vie entre ses mains. Vibrant. Talent et expérience. Sa voix est superbe et retentie clairement dans la petite salle.

Excellent guitariste aussi, Graham Whitford le suit de près, entame des solos lui-même tandis que Noah Denny à la basse suit parfaitement le tempo.

Caleb Crosby à la batterie, frappe fort et bien dans ses kits, sourit et balance sa chevelure blonde en headbanging constant. La complicité avec Tyler est flagrante. Ils se suivent et se complètent à merveille.

L’alchimie entre ces 4 garçons est parfaite. C’est rare de voir autant d’énergie, passion et de tendresse pour son public, son armée, comme ils l’appellent. Tyler affirme reconnaitre des visages dans la foule.

Un moment d’accalmie avec Jalouse me – électrisant et sensuel et Manipulate Me, so groovy et sexy. On entend bien la voix si unique de Tyler.

The Wayside, Easy Target retentissent haut et fort et Aftershock, avec sa lourdeur magnétique quasi « Paranoid » de Black Sabbath est tout simplement majestueuse.

Superbe moment blues avec Mojo Workin’ suivi par Lipstick Wonder Woman – Tyler joue au milieu de public des riffs hallucinants et Caleb ramene son grand tambour en bord de scène.

Une nouvelle dose d’énergie avec Weak & Weapin’ qui clôture le set, mais ils reviennent peu après avec une reprise de Tom Petty « You Wreck Me » hommage au grand artiste décédé cette année. Tyler nous invite de chanter avec lui si on connait les paroles, suivi d’un petit clin d’œil à Elvis avec le Blues Jam de That’s all right (Mama).

Ramblin’ Bones, grandiose, dépasse toutes mes attentes, c’est le blues à son apogée. Le morceau débute toute en douceur, Tyler descend de nouveau dans le public, pour se terminer dans une pure folie de guitares de génie. Tous les bras sont levés.

Tonnerre de cris et applaudissements, le public est émerveillé. TBSD reviennent pour un deuxième rappel, chose jamais arrivée encore sur la tournée pour chanter House that Jack Built et Tyler demande de l’aide au public, en affirmant que cela lui arrive d’oublier les paroles.

Un show mémorable, venu du cœur, d’une puissance inouïe, émanant à chaque minute de l’unité, du charme, de la chaleur, de l’humanité. Un moment d’intense bonheur.

Quelques minutes après la fin, les musiciens reviennent pour serrer des mains, faire de accolades, signer des autographes, discuter avec les fans et remercier tout le monde d’être venu pour les voir.

Je n’ai jamais vu autant de gentillesse, générosité et d’amour partagé avec son public. BRAVO !

Vivement le prochain passage à Paris. D’après leur promesse, ils reviendront en France au printemps ou à l’été 2018.

Moi, ils me manquent déjà.

(EN) Brilliant. Electric. Generous. Fabulous Rock N’ Roll as we have not seen and heard for a long time. An amazing loyalty and osmosis with the fans. In a few words, this was the atmosphere at Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown gig at La Maroquinerie in Paris, November 29, 2017, part of Ramblin’ Bones Tour, their first ever headline tour. But to understand better, you really had to be there. Story :

The 4 boys arrive on stage with great smiles and start the set with Backfire, huge energetic track, built for the stadiums. That remind us that the rockers of Nashville have opened for Aerosmith, AC/DC or Guns N’ Roses and the big sound of arenas, they know it very well.

Tyler Bryant, the frontman, rad in his leather jacket, black slim and awesome boots is accompanied by his favourite Fender pink guitar scratched and used up to wood – sign of all that love and affection received during the years.

Follow Heartland with rough grunge guitars and insane drums – the fans are already going crazy. The sound is impeccable.

House on Fire, Downtown Tonight, Criminal Imagination, Don’t mind the blood, crazy craziness Rock N’ Roll, played with huge enthusiasm.

Tyler moves with grace and confidence, kneels, plays under on the nose of the first rank: his riffs are implacable, perfect and mesmerising.

He will change several guitars during the evening and all of them seems to be alive in his hands. Vibrating. Talent and experience. His beautiful unique voice sounds fantastic above our heads.

Excellent guitarist also Graham Whitford is following him closely, and do some awesome solos too, while Noah Denny on bass, follows perfectly the tempo.

Caleb Crosby hits hard and well in his drums, smiles and moves his long blonde hair in a constant headbanging. The complicity with Tyler is obvious. They follow and complete each other perfectly.

The chemistry between these 4 boys on stage is flawless. It’s rare to see so much energy, passion, so much love and tenderness for their audience, the TBSD army. Tyler says he recognize some faces in the crowd.

A calmer moment with the electrifying and sensual Jealous me and the so groovy and sexy, Manipulate me. Tyler’s vocals are awesome.

The Wayside, Easy Target sound strong and genuine and Aftershock, with its heavy magnetic tunes sound almost Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid”. Simply majestic.

Great blues moment with Mojo Workin’ followed by Lipstick Wonder Woman – Tyler plays in the middle of the crowd some mind-blowing riffs and Caleb brings his big drum in front of the stage.

A new dose of energy with Weak & Weapin’ which closes the set but they come back quickly with a cover of Tom Petty –You Wreck Me- tribute to the great artist died this year. Tyler invites us to sing with him if we know the words. Then a lovely Blues Jam of That’s all right(Mama) of Elvis.

Ramblin’ Bones, grandiose, exceeds all my expectations, the blues at its peak. It starts bit softly, Tyler dives into the public, and it ends in some insane guitar riffs. Genius. All the arms are raised.

Thunders of screams and applauses, the audience is amazed. The TBSD return for a second encore, thing never happened before on the tour, and perform House that Jack Built. Tyler asks the fans to help him with the lyrics as it happens to forget them.

A memorable show, came straight from the heart – an incredible power from the beginning to the end. A show of unity, charm, warmth and humanity. Blew me away. A moment of intense happiness.

After the show, the musicians came back to shake hands, sign autographs, chatting, giving big hugs to fans and thank everyone for coming to see them. I have never seen so much kindness and generosity. Bravo!

According their promise, they’ll be back in France in the spring – summer of 2018.

Miss them already.
