Night People, 5th album of You Me At Six

January 6th, 2017 marked the comeback of the 5 English rockers from You Me at Six with an excellent 5th album Night People, released at Infectious Music.

Josh Franceschi (singer), Max Helyer (guitar), Chris Miller (guitar), Matt Barnes (bass) and Dan Flint (drums) attacked the building for this new album with an idea in mind: become the biggest and the best group of UK.

First of all, they looked back of their 10-years career accomplishments:

* 2 albums in the Top Five (Hold me Down in 2010 and Sinners Never Sleep in 2011), 1 album number one (Cavalier Youth in 2014) and 13 consecutive singles in the A-list of Radio 1…

* a lot of concerts in major venues (Wembley Arena, The O2) or festivals… for example, just before the headline- Black Keys – on the Island of Wight…

Not bad at all… But, they did not rest on their laurels. They went looking for a new sound, or rather to rediscover their essence and find a way to incorporate new influences into their music…

“That is why, on Night People, there is this influence, this huge energy hip hop, because it’s very much what we were listening to while we were making the record” Josh Franceschi says.

And this is not all – they have been produced by Jacquire King, the magician from Nashville, who worked with Kings of Leon, James Bay or Sunset Sons….

Therefore, they moved for some weeks in Nashville, where “you can constantly meet people who want to make great music and great songs” agrees Josh. And it was a great inspiration.

King has made them recorded live in the studio like this – ‘capturing the energy, the feeling and emotion of the song’ said Max.

They worked very seriously, they meditated and they found new ways to manage stress and pressure. Briefly, they have grown up … and the result is really fantastic.

They will be on stage at La Cigale in Paris, on March 31, 2017. Do not miss them.

Janvier 2017 a marqué le retour de 5 anglais du groupe rock You Me at Six avec un excellent  5ème album,  Night People (sorti le 06/01/2017 chez Infectious Music).

Josh Franceschi (Chanteur), Max Helyer (guitare), Chris Miller (Guitare), Matt Barnes(Basse) et Dan Flint (batterie) ont attaqué le travail pour cet nouvel album avec une idée en tête: devenir le plus grand et le meilleur group de Grande-Bretagne.

Tout d’abord, ils ont dressé le bilan de leurs 10 ans de carrière :

*2 albums dans le Top Five (Hold me Down en 2010 et Sinners Never Sleep en 2011), 1 album Number One (Cavalier Youth en 2014) et 13 singles consécutifs dans la A-list de Radio 1…

* beaucoup de concerts dans de grands salles (Wembley Arena ,The O2 )  ou  des  festivals … comme par exemple,   juste avant la tête d’affiche – Black Keys -sur la scène de L’Ile de Wight …

Plutôt pas mal…

Mais, ils ne sont pas reposés sur leur lauriers et ils sont partis à la recherche d’un nouveau sound, ou plutôt redécouvrir leur essence et trouver une façon d’incorporer des nouvelles influences dans leur musique …

« C’est pourquoi, sur Night People, il y a cette influence, cette énorme énergie hip hop, parce que c’est beaucoup ce qu’on écoutait pendant qu’on faisait le disque » Josh Franceschi déclare.

Et ce n’est pas tout – ils ont fait appel à Jacquire King, le producteur magicien de Nashville qui a travaillé avec Kings of Leon , James Bay ou Sunset Sons.

Ils se sont donc installé quelques semaines à Nashville, là ou « tu côtoies constamment des gens qui veulent faire de la grande musique et de grands chansons » acquiesce Josh.

King les a faits enregistré en live tous les 5 – « en captant l’énergie, le feeling et l’émotion de la chanson » dit Max.

Ils ont travaillé très sérieusement, Ils se sont assagis, ils ont trouvé la méditation et des nouvelles façons de gérer le stress et la pression. Bref, ils ont grandi avec ce nouvel opus. Et le résultat est fantastique.

En attendant de les voir sur la scène de La Cigale à Paris, le 31 Mars 2017…
