Let there be Rock, and it was ROCK, last weekend in Park de Saint Cloud.
The God of Rock spreads some good vibes above the 120 000 beautiful people who went in the Jungle of Rock en Seine 2015, and all of us were blesses with beautiful sound and lights.
In a tropical atmosphere, 31-33°C, quite unusual heat for this festival, admiring a superb full moon, and among the charming still green trees of Domaine de Saint Cloud, of we savoured some tasty music coming from all over the world.
I know it, since 06th of March, when the first names were revealed, and I already told you here, that this will be my best Rock en Seine ever and I WAS RIGHT.
Well, I will not tell you too many things about the festival, we had some nice entertainment around the Jungle, some Rock Art, photo exhibitions, colourful showers, lot of food trucks and a very beautiful sky …etc and also the usual queues at bars and toilettes…
But here MY Personal Rock en Seine- all photos are taken by me:
Friday, I started with a nice surprise, WOLF ALICE, a young British group, an energetic alternative rock and a clear voice. For sure, a bit shy performance on stage but a lot of potential here…
FFS arrived on stage. The super mega group formed by Franz Ferdinand and The Sparks were on TOP with their dancing show. They dazzled us with a fantastic good mood, a delighted electrical rocking 80’s sound, synthes, guitars… and lot of dancing steps.
Alex Kapranos and Russel Mael are getting well together, these guys are really having fun and enjoy what they do…even if they are singing Collaborations Don’t not work, they proved otherwise.
It was fun on stage, and it was fun in the crowd. We felt LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY to be there …
Then no time to breath, as THE OFFSPRING arrives furiously on stage.
Nothing new here, nothing changed, same crazy punk rock, they did not lost an ounce of their devilish energy. One after another their hits come together and people fully enjoy.
And for end of the day, the showmen from KASABIAN – a totally magnetic concert with amazing sound and lights.
Saturday, an excellent start for me with the British STEREOPHONICS, as usual, the beautiful raspy voice of Kelly Jones, a well-rehearsed show, a kind of “best of” mixed with some new lovely songs from their new album coming up next week…
Then we went to Say hello to the Angels from INTERPOL and they answered with a fabulous show.
A bitter –sweet show for me, as the last one I see from El Pintor Tour which sadly ends in just a few days…
The New Yorkers proved one more time, that have Great style (and Great style is worthwhile…) even on 30°C. Perfect melancholic sound, superb voice, electrifying crying guitars, fantastic beats.
They did a great show, for a big festival. A short and efficient set list, with a beautiful Rest My Chemistry, a very emotional My Blue Supreme, an explosives Slow hands, Rage, PDA…
A less glorious show for me, as totally squeezed in the 6th or 7th row, next to an excited girl who ruined my Evil as she was desperately singing in my ear, so could hear only with the other one… and then, All this rage… that it was too short, it was too quick, unfair, finished…just could not believe it … I had tears in my eyes, I swear…
Well, and for the end of the evening THE LIBERTINES on the main stage – as a very long time fan, I was quite excited to see them after so many years. A happy messy show, a nice complicity between Pete Doherty and Carl Barat- it is always a pleasure to see these big kids playing on stage.
Can’t stand me now, Music when the lights go out or The Delaney … as well as some new songs from the so expected album were there for our big pleasure.
Sunday, I went see the Australians from TAME IMPALA for the first time and I totally loved.
Beautiful romantic psychedelic sound, the sweet high voice of Kevin Parker embraced the crowd and transformed the Main Stage in a cool Flower Power moment.
Alt –J followed, the successful British band conquered the audience with their passionate sophisticated indie- folk rock – electro sound.
And for the end of my festival, what could be more motivating that the excellent Hip Hop sound coming from USA, the duo RUN THE JEWELS, who definitely captivated the crowd.
And this is the end of my summer festivals – Thank you Rock en Seine for this fantastic festival.
For me, place to the big indoor gigs of this new season.

Let there be Rock et c’était ROCK, le week-end dernier dans le parc de Saint-Cloud.
Le Dieu du Rock a répandu sa bonne humeur au-dessus des 120000 personnes qui se sont rendus dans la Jungle de Rock en Seine 2015 et chacun d’entre nous a été bénit avec du bon son et lumières.
Dans une ambiance tropicale, 31-33° C, une chaleur tout à fait inhabituelle pour ce festival, admirant une superbe pleine lune et parmi les arbres encore verts du charmant Domaine de Saint-Cloud, nous avons dégusté une savoureuse musique venant de partout dans le monde.
Je savais depuis le 06 mars, quand les premiers noms ont été révélés et l’ai déjà dit ici, que ce sera mon meilleur Rock en Seine et JE NE ME SUIS PAS TROMPEE .
Eh bien, je ne vais pas vous dire trop de choses sur le festival lui même, juste qu’en plus des files d’attente habituelles dans les bars et les toilettes, nous avons eu une animation très sympa autour de la Jungle, des expos, du RockArt, des douches colorées, plein de food trucks et un ciel bleu magnifique…
Mais voila ici Mon Rock en Seine à Moi ( les photos sont prises par moi)
Vendredi, j’ai commencé avec une belle surprise, WOLF ALICE, un jeune groupe britannique, un rock alternatif énergique et une voix claire, sûrement une performance un peu timide sur scène mais beaucoup de potentiel ici…
FFS est arrivé sur scène. Le Super Mega groupe formé par Franz Ferdinand et THE SPARKS étaient en excellente forme, On the Top, avec leur dancing show.
Ils nous ont ébloui avec leur fantastique bonne humeur, un son de synthés des années 80 melangé au rock dynamique, des guitares… et beaucoup de pas de danse.
Alex Kapranos et Russel Mael se donnent à fond, ils ont l’air bien ensemble, ils s’amusent et se donnent à coeur joie sur scène … même s’ils chantent Collaborations Don’t Work, ils ont prouvé le contraire.
C’était fun sur scène, et c’était fun dans la foule. Nous nous sommes sentis Lucky Lucky Lucky d’être là…
Pas le temps de respirer, car The Offspring arrive furieusement sur la Grande Scene.
Rien de neuf ici, rien a changé, même punk rock fou qui n’a pas pris une ride…
Ils n’ont pas perdu une once de leur énergie diabolique. Les uns après les autres leurs grands succès s’enchainent et tout le monde profite pleinement.
Et pour terminer la journée, les showmen de KASABIAN – un concert totalement magnétique avec un super son et lumière.
Samedi, un excellent départ pour moi avec les Britanniques de STEREOPHONICS.
Comme d’habitude, la belle voix rauque de Kelly Jones, un spectacle bien rodé, une sorte de “best of” mélangé avec des chansons de leur nouvel album qui sort la semaine prochaine…
Puis nous sommes allés to Say Hello to the Angels d’INTERPOL et en échange, ils nous délivré un magnifique concert. Assez doux amer pour moi, car c’était mon dernier du El Pintor Tour.
Les New Yorkais ont prouvé encore une fois qu’ils ont beaucoup de style même à 30° C.
Voix parfaite, superbes guitares, fantastique beat.
Ils ont fait un grand spectacle, pour un grand festival. Un set list court et efficace, avec une belle Rest My Chemisty, un très émouvant My Blue Supreme ou les explosives Slow Hands, Rage, PDA…
Un concert moins glorieux pour moi, totalement coincé dans la rangée de 6-7, à côté d’une jeune fille excitée qui a ruiné mon EVIL en chantant désespérément dans mon oreille, donc j’ai pu entendre qu’avec l’autre… et puis, ALL That Rage que c’est fini, top court, trop vite …Injuste, je ne pouvais pas le croire … J’avais les larmes aux yeux, je vous jure…
Eh bien, et pour la fin de la soirée THE LIBERTINES sur la scène principale – comme un bon fan depuis très longtemps, j’ai été très heureuse de les voir après tant d’années.
Un joyeux bordel sur scène, une belle complicité entre Pete Doherty et Carl Barat… c’est toujours un plaisir de voir ces grands gamins jouer sur scène.
Can’t stand me now, Music when the lights go out or The Delaney… ainsi que des nouvelles chansons extrais du nouvel album attendu bientôt, étaient là pour notre plus grand plaisir…
Dimanche, TAME IMPALA –je vois les Australiens pour la première fois et j’ai totalement adoré.
Beau son romantique psychédélique, une voix douce haute- perchée de Kevin Parker qui a embrassé la foule et a transformé la Grande Scène dans un joli moment cool Flower Power.
Alt-J, le groupe britannique qui monte , a totalement conquis la foule avec leur indie -rock – folk –electro sophistiqué et passionné.
Et pour la fin de mon festival, ce qui pourrait être plus motivant, que l’excellent son Hip Hop des Américains de RUN THE JEWELS qui ont captivé la foule …
MERCI ROCK EN SEINE pour ce festival magnifique. A la prochaine!
