Wednesday, 06 November 2013 – Gare du Nord – Paris – Eurostar Hall – we wait to get in the 3:13 pm train to London St Pancras.
Impossible to miss the 10th year anniversary of The Killers. As the party is only In London and Amsterdam – we had to cross The Channel to be part of it.
Big stress – as everything was done at the last minute. Keep fingers crossed that we will be in time and everything goes as we planned.
4:40 pm London , here we are.
Short visit to hotel – then Oxford Circus to a pick up the tickets.
6 pm – yes!!! We have them!
We enjoy one spare hour in London –Oxford and Regent Street – some Christmas decorations already – Piccadilly – Leicester square and then, hurry to Hammersmith Apollo for the gig.
Rather small venue for The Killers, this Art Deco Theatre is charming. Recently refurbished, it changed the name into Eventim Apollo.
Marble stairs, red & green lighting foyer , beautiful chandeliers –the Happy Crowd inside is waiting patiently around the amazing circled & huge bar.
The show starts at 9 pm with a perfect – Shot at the night – followed by all the greatest- Somebody told me , Human , Smile like you mean it or a superb acoustic version of Read my mind and a memorable All these things that I’ve done – everything is fantastic till the last one –Mr Brightside.
A decade is celebrated -It seems that on 06/11/13, it’s exactly 10 years since Mr Brightside was ever broadcast on the radio.
These guys are incredible on the stage- definitely -the best live band in this moment. No screens, no fireworks – just lights, some lasers, wonderful songs, great sound –it’s enough for this intimate show. Brandon, Ronnie, Dave, Mark and also their big great support Ted and Jake , they all gave their best as always.
They paid tribute to their British fans – the adventure started here 10 years ago – London is their music home and first success.
“You were the first ones to make us feeling worth it – You gave us confidence that we could do anything “ Brandon Flowers said.
The atmosphere was fantastic. Nobody sit, everyone was singing and dancing. We do not want this to end. But the unavoidable happened and we go out thrilled, sparkling eyes, enchanting ears and big smiles.
Do not want to leave . Long trip by double decker – lovely London by night- and back to hotel for a few hours sleep.
5 am – go back to St Pancras – and 3 hours later arrived to Paris for a normal working day. That’s All!
