C’est groovy, c’est énergique, c’est intense et c’est émouvant, le nouvel album de STORM ORCHESTRA, Get Better, est notre Coup de Cœur ROCK d’avril.

Sorti chez Mascot Records le 11 avril 2025 et produit par Bertrand Poncet (Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!), Get Better est le deuxième opus du jeune trio parisien composé de Maxime Goudard (chant, guitare), Adrien Richard (basse) et Loïc Fouquet (batterie).

Bright Soul, Crush The Mirrors, Drummer, Superplayer, Tear Myself Down, Désolé (featuring JJ Wilde)… l’album est truffé des pépites tout aussi variées que délicieuses et captivantes qui nous rendent accros dès la première écoute.

Des rythmiques fiévreuses, des riffs puissants et des refrains entêtants, le rock-métal alternatif Made in France est représenté avec brio par ce trio talentueux et stylé à qui on prédit un bel avenir !

J’ai eu le grand plaisir de rencontrer les trois membres du STORM ORCHESTRA et nous avons parlé de leurs influences, du nouvel l’album et bien évidement de leur sens de la mode et de leurs idées innovantes en matière de style.

Comment l’aventure Storm Orchestra a démarré ? Vous pouvez nous faire un petit résumé de votre parcours ?

Maxime : Ça a commencé avec Adrien et moi. On a fait nos études d’ingénieurs du son ensemble et à la sortie de nos études, Adrien m’a dit qu’il faisait de la musique avec un pote et il m’a proposé de les rejoindre pour répéter ensemble et essayer des choses.

J’ai accepté car j’avais envie depuis longtemps d’avoir un groupe, on a donc commencé STORM ORCHESTRA avec un autre batteur avant Loïc.

Loïc : Moi,Je suis arrivé dans le groupe en 2019. On a sorti un premier EP éponyme au tout début du COVID et ensuite, pendant la pause COVID on a enregistré notre premier album – What A Time To Be Alive qui est sorti le 14 avril 2023. Grâce à ce premier album on a été repérés par Mascot Records. On a signé chez eux et le 11 avril on sort notre premier album avec eux, Get Better, donc notre deuxième album. L’aventure continue.

Comment est-ce vous écrivez ensemble d’habitude ? C’était différent pour Get Better ?

Maxime : On a un processus de composition qui est assez perpétuel. On écrit des chansons quasiment tout le temps.

Pour Get Better, on s’est vraiment concentré sur la composition intensive pendent 3 mois pour avoir le plus de morceaux possibles et pouvoir de choisir parmi eux.

Quant à notre manière de composer ensemble, la plupart du temps, c’est Adrien qui compose la musique. Il m’envoie un morceau guitare basse batterie, un truc assez construit et là-dessus, moi j’écris un texte, je pose un chant et après à partir de là, on fait des allers-retours et on termine la chanson.

De temps en temps, c’est moi qui envoie quelque chose. Mais après, il y a toujours cet aller-retour entre nous et ensuite, on se met ensemble un après-midi pour peaufiner tout ça. C’est une sorte de puzzle, on rajoute et on élimine des choses jusqu’au moment où on a notre chanson.

D’où vient le nom du groupe ?

Maxime : C’est assez marrant. De temps en temps, quand on répète, les amplis captent la radio et quand on cherchait notre nom, à un moment, on a répété et on a entendu « BrianStorm » de Arctic Monkeys, un groupe qui nous a beaucoup influencé.

Et on s’est dit, Ah tiens c’est marrant, on va garder le Storm. Ensuite, on a rajouté Orchestra parce que on est trois, mais on veut faire le bruit d’un orchestre! Avoir la puissance d’un orchestre à 3.

Est-ce que vous avez les mêmes influences musicales tous les trois ?

Loïc : Pas vraiment. On se rejoint sur des influences communes, on écoute tous du rock mais pas du tout le même rock. Je pense que Max et moi on est les plus opposés avec Adrien entre nous deux.

Mais on s’est bien retrouvé. On se fait souvent des blagues avec Max que si on s’était connu à 16 ans, on se serait probablement détesté. Que ça soit sur la base de nos looks ou de nos styles musicaux.

Maxime : Aujourd’hui, c’est très intéressant de mélanger toutes nos influences.

Adrien : On a aussi beaucoup évolué. On écoute plein d’autres choses et c’est cool qu’il n’y ait pas non plus un groupe qui ressorte tout le temps de nos influences musicales.

Un artiste majeur pour chacun d’entre vous qui vous a donné envie de faire la musique, par exemple ?

Adrien : Muse

Maxime : AC/ DC et Artic Monkyes sont mes deux bases

Loïc : Sum 41 et Blink 182

Adrien : Avec Max on était plutôt en Angleterre alors que Loïc était aux États-Unis.

Maxime : il y avait un océan entre les deux

Sur le morceaux Désolé vous avez collaboré avec JJ Wilde. Vous pouvez nous en parler de la genèse de cette chanson que je trouve magnifique et très émouvante. Comment vous avez pensé à JJ Wilde pour le featuring?

Maxime : Cette chanson part d’un rêve. Je m’endors 1 h et je me réveille avant la vraie nuit, je prends mon téléphone et j’enregistre ce que tout le monde peut entendre maintenant sur les réseaux.  Dans cet extrait, il y a le « I may not be Sorry » et, il y a toute la ligne de chant du refrain. Le morceau est parti de là et après, on a construit tout autour.

Désolé raconte un échange d’un couple après une dispute et quand on l’a fini, on s’est dit que ce serait super cool que y ait une voix féminine qui incarne la discussion dans ce morceau. C’est le label qui nous a proposé JJ Wilde. 

Et c’est assez marrant parce qu’il se trouve que ma copine est vraiment fan de JJ Wilde, donc je trouvais que ça faisait vraiment du sens dans un morceau qui parle d’un couple de lui donner, entre guillemets, un peu la voix de cet artiste qu’elle adore.

On a envoyé le titre à JJ en lui disant, voilà le 2e couplet, il est à toi, tu en fais ce que tu veux : tu peux mettre une autre mélodie si tu veux, changer de texte, on veut vraiment que tu t’appropries ce moment du morceau.

C’est hyper cool ce qu’on a reçu, parce qu’elle a gardé la mélodie mais elle a mis son propre texte. Elle a apporté quelque chose en plus au morceau, elle l’a complété, elle l’a terminé. Elle a une émotion qui est différente de la mienne et c’est super. J’espère vraiment que les gens vont l’apprécier.  On est très contents du résultat.

Est-ce que chacun d’entre vous a un morceau préféré sur l’album ?

Adrien : Our Victory parce que c’est le cri du cœur.  Je trouve que c’est le plus physique et le plus chargé en émotions. Après j’aime Crush the Mirrors et dans un autre registre, Superplayer qui est vraiment le morceau groove avec les gros riffs. Les gens la reçoivent super bien en live.

Loïc :  Crush the Mirrors est vraiment ma préférée d’album. On a un co-écrit le texte avec Max et c’est la première fois que j’écris vraiment des textes qui finissent sur un album, donc c’est un exercice assez perso et forcément on s’approprie plus.

Ensuite, il y a notre ami à Bertrand Poncet (de Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!) qui vient chanter dessus.

Je dirais que la naissance de ce titre c’était un moment important et Il est assez unique dans ce qu’on a pu faire comme compo.

On est trois, mais on veut faire le bruit d’un orchestre!

Maxime : Superplayer. C’est une chanson d’amour et je l’aime bien pour le message qu’elle qu’véhicule et aussi pour le clip. C’est la première fois que ma copine apparait. C’est elle à la fin qui me serre dans ses bras. Je trouve cool de d’avoir calé ce moment un peu discrètement parce qu’il y a ce côté amour et le message d’être ensemble.

Il a le groove, il y a un gros riff à la fin et en live, ce morceau est super cool. Il y a ce chant de supporters de Newcastle dedans qu’on fait chanter en live aussi. C’est un grand moment d’échange avec le public. Superplayer a un peu tout ce que j’aime dans la musique.

Drummer a déclenché une tempête sur les plateformes, a rencontré un énorme nombre de streamings dès sa sortie. Comment est-ce que vous avez réagi ? Vous vous attendiez à un tel succès ?

Loïc : C’est un morceau qu’on aimait et on savait qu’il était spécial et qu’il était, peut-être un peu plus cool que les autres. Quand on sort un morceau, on espère toujours que ça va marcher, que les gens vont aimer, donc pas spécialement surpris. Et puis ce ne sont que des chiffres et quand on compare à des énormes succès du rap ou de ou de la pop, ça reste à notre niveau.

Maxime : Ça donne beaucoup de force. Je trouve que c’est une reconnaissance. Ça donne envie de continuer. C’est rigolo quand j’imagine le moment où on était dans ma chambre et qu’on a chanté ce refrain et on a déliré entre nous et qu’ensuite il y a 700000 800000 personnes qui l’ont écouté.  C’est fou. On ne s’imaginait vraiment pas ça quand on a fait ce morceau.

Et il ya le clip aussi avec Loïc, ses coupes de cheveux et son sens de la mode.

Parlons de votre style de mode. Il est assez différent entre vous trois. Maxime, en général tu es toujours en costume

Maxime : Oui presque. J’adore les vêtements. La plupart de mes vêtements sont plutôt vintage. Je regarde énormément sur Vinted. C’est là qu’on trouve des pièces assez uniques.

Je suis aussi très mode anglaise. A Camden, on trouve des choses assez incroyables.

J’aime beaucoup les costumes, en fait je dirais plutôt les ensembles et je fais attention de coordonner aussi les couleurs.

J’aime beaucoup l’idée quand on nous voit en live de se dire Ah c’était le groupe avec le mec qui avait un tel costume qui avait tel vêtement. C’est un élément marqueur que je trouve très fort. C’est une identité forte.

J’aime beaucoup les boots en cuir. Aujourd’hui, je porte des santiags qui étaient à mon père, elles sont donc plus vieilles que moi.

J’ai toutes sortes de bottines, je suis très fan des bottines dont les talons sont de plus en plus hauts.

Je ne suis pas marque ou créateur du tout. Il faut que ça soit beau et que ça soit bien coupé évidemment. Je commence aussi à expérimenter et dessiner sur des vêtements pour les rendre uniques.

Par exemple, il y a des dessins sur le costume blanc que je porte sur la pochette. Si on fait attention, il y a tous les éléments qu’on retrouve sur les des pochettes de chaque single : la fleur ou le papillon qui sort de la cloche cassée.

Je ne sais pas trop dessiner, donc j’ai trouvé cette technique de projeter dessus avec un projecteur et puis, je dessine ce qui est projeté.

Et j’aimerais bien développer cette idée un peu plus avec comme grand projet un jour, d’attaquer une tournée avec un costume blanc et de laisser les fans dessiner sur le costume. Ça deviendrait donc une œuvre évolutive entre les concerts. Je trouve ça cool de personnaliser un vêtement de cette manière.

C’est une idée géniale !  Adrien et Loïc, tous les deux vous êtes plus discrets, plutôt habillés en noir.

Loïc : oui, on est beaucoup plus sobre pour laisser la place à Max. Et aussi pour illustrer le fait que l’assise du groupe, musicalement c’est quand même beaucoup de basse- batterie.

Les groupes de rock en trio sont généralement guitare basse batterie. Nous en vrai, dans le son, on ne le voit pas, mais sur scène en réalité, il y a comme s’il y avait 2 basses donc, on est plutôt un groupe avec une batterie, 2 basses et une guitare chant, d’où le style plus sobre d’Adrien et de moi-même pour évoquer cette assise.

On joue beaucoup plus sur la sobriété, chacun avec ses préférences, pour donner cette assise et pour laisser Max avec ses exubérances stylistiques.

J’aime beaucoup les vestes de sport. Je suis un gros fan de foot, du club NewCastle United et j’ai acheté la veste que je porte aujourd’hui à la boutique officielle du Club à Newcastle la dernière fois quand je suis allé.

Quand on était à Milan en tournée, j’ai acheté une veste avec Milan AC aussi, un autre club que j’aime bien.

En fait, quand on est en tournée, j’aime bien voir de petites friperies et à Milan, j’ai craqué. J’ai acheté plein de vestes de sports vintage très années 90.

Je suis quasiment tout le temps habillé en noir et J’aime bien des vêtements qualitatifs avec un tissu qui va tenir dans le temps, même pour un T Shirt.

Et c’est valable pour notre merchandising. On aime bien avoir des tissus de qualité pour que les gens qui achètent des t-shirts ou des sweats puissent avoir un vrai vêtement qu’ils aiment porter longtemps et pas le jeter après en 5 lavages.

On a fait un maillot de foot autour de Superplayer, vu que ça parle de sport. On en a fait le prototype pour un 2eme sur le même thème de la chanson qui n’est pas sorti. Il est un peu plus alambiqué et on espère le sortir bientôt.

C’est vous-même qui s’occupe de la création du merch ou vous faites appel à un designer ?

Maxime : Le maillot, on l’a fait nous-mêmes mais pour les visuels, comme la fleur, c’est un designer qui s’appelé Mathieu Rouland qui nous l’a fait.

Loïc : C’est Mathieu Rouland avec Guillaume Tronel et Gianni Messia qui ont aussi réalisé le clip du Bright Soul et ils sont arrivés avec ce design de fleur qu’on a ensuite repris sur la pochette du single, de l’album et c’est sur nos t-shirts en ce moment.

Et toi, Adrien, niveaux style ?

Adrien : Je suis un peu plus entre Max et Loïc. J’aime bien les chemises, les style marcel – chemise. Je suis plus libre sur scène, et ça paraît un peu plus ample quand on fait des mouvements et visuellement c’est joli, même dans les photos.

Comme expliquait Loïc, nous, on va rester plus sobres alors que Max est un petit plus exubérant. La chemise, c’est un peu plus en rapport avec le costume mais sans rentrer dans l’ensemble.

J’aime bien que les choses soit un peu symétriques et vu qu’on est un trio, on a un triangle.

Maxime : Pour aller plus loin sur le côté costumes sur scène, mettre un costume pour aller sur scène, c’est aussi se mettre dans son personnage de scène, se mettre dans son show. Moi, en tout cas je l’utilise beaucoup comme ça.

Dans la vie de tous les jours, je ne suis pas non plus tous les jours habillé d’un costume blanc. J’ai moins des choses exubérantes.

J’aime bien dissocier les deux et je trouve que ce n’est pas trop mal parce que j’ai quand même un shoot d’adrénaline comme ça. C’est tout un cérémonial d’enfiler son costume avant d’aller sur scène. Ça fait partie de l’échauffement.

Vous tournez actuellement avec Royal Republic. Comment ça se passe cette tournée ?

Loïc : Très bien et eux niveaux style, ils sont au top.

Maxime : J’ai toujours adoré leur style. À un moment, ils avaient des vestes colorées un peu style groupe de jazz ou rockabilly.

Loïc : Maintenant ils sont en mode belles vestes en cuir, perles … ils ont un vrai sens du style sur scène et ça nous parle aussi pas mal parce ça confirme notre envie de montrer quelque chose à ce niveau-là. On n’est pas juste habillé comme on est dans la vrai vie sur scène. On n’est pas si loin, mais je dirais que sur scène, il y a une version de notre style un peu exacerbée.

C’est super de tourner avec Royal Republic, ils sont adorables. C’est un groupe hyper humain et hyper dans le partage. Ils sont vraiment venus vers nous pour nous intégrer dans leur grande équipe et on a hâte de les retrouver pour finir avec ces 3 dernières dates. Et puis peut être faire d’autres à l’avenir.

En plus de ces concerts avec Royal Republic , est-ce que vous avez déjà d’autre dates confirmées ?

Loïc : c’est en discussion. On travaille dessous avec Gerard Drouot Production. C’est vrai que ça fait 2 ans qu’on n’a pas fait une date en tête d’affiche à Paris. La dernière fois s’était pour notre album précédent en mai 2023, donc on aimerait bien en refaire une soit en été, soit en automne.

Adrien : il y aura d’autres dates qui seront annoncées bientôt et quelques festivals cette été et puis on verra après la sortie de l’album.

Un lieu où vous souhaiterez jouer un jour en France ou ailleurs.

Loïc :  Zenith, Bercy, Stade de France.

Maxime : Ce sont des grands rêves. Moi, je trouve magnifique le Royal Albert Hall à Londres.

Loïc : Et Wembley stadium.

Adrien : la scène que je rêve de faire, c’est la Pyramide Stage de Glastonbury.  Je trouve qu’elle a un truc spécial, il n’y a pas beaucoup de scènes hyper reconnaissables comme celle-là visuellement. Avec tous ces drapeaux, il ya quelque chose qui se passe. Quand un artiste a fait la Pyramide Stage en Head Liner je me dis me, c’est bon, Il a passé le cap !

Maxime : On a mentionné que des petites scènes…

Loïc : Déjà l’Olympia en tête d’affiche c’est quelque chose. C’était déjà un rêve de jouer à l’Olympia, on l’a fait en support band et le faire en tête d’affiche ça sera encore plus important.

Maxime :  Oui, c’était un rêve et c’est le fait de la remplir maintenant ça voudra dire quelque.

Mais le Trianon, c’est magnifique, l’Élysée Montmartre c’est magnifique. Et comme on est parisiens, ça sera marrant de faire un concert à Bercy et ensuite rentrer en métro à la maison.

Released on Mascot Records on April 11, 2025 and produced by Bertrand Poncet (Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!), Get Better is the second record of the young Parisian trio composed of Maxime Goudard (vocals, guitar), Adrien Richard (bass) and Loïc Fouquet (drums).

I had the great pleasure of meeting the three members of the STORM ORCHESTRA and learning more. We talked about their influences, the new album and of course about their fashion sense and their innovative ideas in terms of style.

How did the Storm Orchestra adventure start? Can you do a short summary of your career till now?

Maxime: It started with Adrien and me. We studied sound engineering together and when we finished our studies, Adrien told me that he was making music with a friend, and he offered me to join them to rehearse together and try things.

I accepted because I had wanted to have a band for a long time, so we started STORM ORCHESTRA with another drummer before Loïc.

Loïc: I joined the band in 2019. We released a first EP at the very beginning of COVID and then, during the COVID break, we recorded our first album which was released on April 14, 2023. Thanks to this first album we were spotted by Mascot Records. We signed with them and on April 11 we released our first album with them, Get Better, so our second album. The adventure goes on.

What is it like you usually write together? Was it different something different for Get Better?

Maxime: We have a writing process that is quite perpetual. We write songs almost all the time. For Get Better, we really focused on intensive composition for 3 months to have as many songs as possible and to be able to choose among them.

As for the way we compose together, most of the time, it’s Adrien who composes the music. He sends me a guitar, bass, drums demo, something quite constructed, and on that, I write the lyrics, put the vocals and then from there, we go back and forth and finish the song.

From time to time, I’m the one who sends something. But afterwards, there’s always this back and forth between us and then an afternoon we get together to refine everything. It’s a kind of puzzle; we add and remove things until we have our song.

Where does the name of the band come from?

Maxime: It’s quite funny because from time to time, when we rehearse, the amps pick up the radio and when we were looking for our name, at one point we rehearsed and heard “BrianStorm” by Arctic Monkeys, a band that influenced us a lot.

And we said to ourselves, oh well, it’s funny, we’re going to keep the Storm. Then, we added Orchestra because there are three of us, but we want to make the sound of an orchestra. Have the power of a 3 pieces orchestra. 

Do you have the same musical influences, all three of you?

Loïc: Not really. We come together on common influences; we all listen to rock but not at all the same rock. I think Max and I are the most opposed with Adrien between the two of us. But we found each other well, I think. Max and I often joke that if we had known each other at 16, we probably would have hated each other. Whether it’s based on our looks or our musical styles.

Maxime: Today, it’s very interesting to mix all our influences. 

Adrien: We have also evolved a lot. We listen to a lot of other things and it’s cool that there isn’t a band that comes out of our musical influences all the time.

A major artist for each of you who made you want to make music for example.

Adrien: Muse

On the track Desolé you collaborated with JJ Wilde. Can you tell us more about the genesis of this song that I find beautiful and very moving. How did you think about JJ Wilde for the featuring?

Maxime: This song is based on a dream. I fall asleep for 1 hour and wake up before the real night, I take my phone and record what everyone can hear now on the social medias.  In this excerpt, you can hear already the line “I may not be sorry” and there is also the whole chorus singing line.

The song started from there and then we built everything around it.  Desolé is about a couple’s exchange after an argument and when we finished it, we thought it would be super cool if there was a female voice embodying the discussion in this song. It’s the label that proposed JJ Wilde to us.  

And it’s quite funny because my girlfriend happens to be a big fan of JJ Wilde, so I thought it really made sense in a song about a couple to give her, in quotes, a little bit of the voice of this artist she loves.

We sent the track to JJ and told her, here’s the 2nd verse, it’s yours, you do what you want with it: you can put another melody if you want, change the lyrics, we really want you to make this moment of the song your own. It’s super cool what we received because she kept the melody, but she put her own lyrics. She brought something extra to the song, she completed it, she finished it. She has an emotion that is different from mine and that’s great. I really hope people will enjoy it.  We are very happy with the result.

Does each of you have a favourite track on the album?

Adrien: Our Victory because it’s the cry from the heart.  I think it’s the most physical and emotional. Then I like Crush the Mirrors and, in another register, Superplayer which is really the groovy track with the big riffs. SuperPlayer we already play it live and for us it’s very cool to play and people receive it super well so.

Loïc: Crush the Mirrors is really my favourite on the album. We co-wrote the lyrics with Max and it’s the first time I’ve really written lyrics that end up on an album, so it’s a pretty personal exercise and obviously I take ownership more. 

Then there’s our friend Bertrand Poncet (from Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!) who comes to sing on it.  I would say that the birth of this track was an important moment, and it is quite unique in what we were able to do as a composition.

Maxime: Superplayer. It’s a love song and I like it for the message it conveys and also for the video. It’s the first time my girlfriend appears. In the end, she is the one who hug me in her arms. I think it’s cool to have set up this moment a little discreetly because on the love message and of being together. Also it has this groove side, there’s a big riff at the end and live, this track is super cool. There’s this Newcastle supporters’ chant in it that we have sung live too. It’s a great moment of exchange with the public. Superplayer has a little bit of everything I love about music.

Drummer has unleashed a storm on the platforms, met with a huge number of streams as soon as it was released. Did you expect such a success? How did you react?

Loïc: It’s a song that we liked, and we knew that it was special and maybe a little bit cooler than the others. When we release a song, we always hope that it will work, that people will like it, so not I was not particularly surprised.

And then these are just numbers and when you compare it to huge rap or pop hits, it’s still at our level.

There are three of us, but we want to make the sound of an orchestra !

Maxime: It gives me a lot of strength. I think it’s a recognition. It makes me want to continue. It’s funny when I imagine the moment when we were in my room, and we sang that chorus, and we raved among ourselves and then there were 700,000 – 800,000 people who listened to it. That’s crazy. We really didn’t imagine that when we made this song. And there’s also the video with Loïc, his haircuts and his fashion sense. 

Let’s talk about your fashion style. Maxime in general you’re always in a suit

Maxime: Yes almost. I wear outfits with the working jacket. I love clothes. Most of my clothes are rather vintage. I look a lot on Vinted. You can find some pretty unique pieces there. I’m also very English Fashion for having walked around Camden several times. You can find some incredible things there.

I really like suits; in fact, I would rather say I like ensembles and I am careful to coordinate the colours as well. 

I love the idea when you see us live to say to yourself Ah it was the band with the guy who wear that suit or who had such a garment. It’s a marker that I find very strong. It gives strong identity.

I really like leather boots. Today, I have cowboy boots that belonged to my father, they are older than me. I have all kinds of ankle boots, I’m a big fan of ankle boots with higher and higher heels.

I’m not brand at all. Clothes have to  be beautiful and well cut.

I also start experimenting and drawing on clothes to make them unique. For example, there are drawings on the white suit that I wear on the album artwork. If you pay attention, there are all the elements that you find on the covers of each single: the flower or the butterfly that comes out of the broken bell. 

I don’t know how to draw too much, so I found this technique of projecting on it with a projector and then I draw what is projected.  And I’d like to develop this idea a little more with the big project one day to go on tour with a white suit and let the fans draw on it. It would therefore become an evolving artwork between concerts. I think it’s cool to personalise a garment in this way.

It’s a great idea!  Adrien and Loïc, both of you are more discreet, rather dressed in black.

Loïc: Yes, we’re much more sober to make room for Max. And also, to illustrate the fact that the foundation of the band, musically, is still a lot of bass-drums. Trio rock bands are usually guitar, bass, drums. Our sound, in real, we don’t see it, but on stage is more as if there were 2 basses so, we are more of a band with a drum, 2 basses and a vocal guitar, hence the more sober style of Adrien and me to evoke this base. 

We play much more on sobriety, each with their own preferences, to give this foundation and to leave Max with his stylistic exuberances.

On my side, I really like sports jackets. I’m a big football fan, NewCastle United and I bought the jacket I’m wearing today at the Club’s official shop in Newcastle last time I went. When we were in Milan on tour, I bought a jacket with AC Milan too, another club I like.

In fact, when we’re on tour, I like to see small vintage stores and in Milan, I fell in love. I bought a lot of vintage sports jackets 90s style. I’m dressed almost all the time in black.

I like quality clothes with a fabric that will last over time, even for a T Shirt. And this is valid for our merchandising.

We like to have quality fabrics, so that people who buy out T-shirts or sweatshirts can have a real garment that they like to wear for a long time and not throw it away after in 5 washes.

So, the idea is to try to do something qualitative and we have some ideas for the future, maybe embroidered stuff.

We made a football jersey around Superplayer, since it’s about sport. We made the prototype for a 2nd one on the same theme of the song that was not released yet. It’s a little more convoluted and we would like very much take it out.

Do you take care of the merchandising design, or you collaborate with a designer?

Maxime: We made the football jersey buy ourselves, but for the visuals, like the flower, it was a designer, Mathieu Rouland, who made it for us.

Loïc: It’s Mathieu Rouland with Guillaume Tronel and Gianni Messia who also directed the video for Bright Soul and they came up with this flower design that we then used on the cover of the single, the album and it’s on our t-shirts at the moment.

And you, Adrien, in terms of style?

Adrien: I’m a little more between Max and Loïc. I like shirts, the marcel style – shirt. I’m freer on stage, when you’re making movements and visually it’s pretty, even when you’re taking pictures. 

As Loïc explained, we’re going to stay more sober while Max is a little more exuberant. The shirt is a little more related to the suit but without going into the whole.  I like things to be a bit symmetrical and since we’re a trio, we have a triangle.

Maxime: To go further on the costume side on stage, putting on a costume to go on stage is also putting yourself in your stage persona, putting yourself in your show. I use it a lot like that. In everyday life, I’m not dressed in a white suit every day either. I have less exuberant things.

But I like to dissociate the two a little bit and I think it’s not too bad because, I still have an adrenaline rush like that. It’s quite a ceremony to put on your costume before going on stage. It’s part of the warm-up.

You are currently touring with Royal Republic. How is it touring with them?

Loïc: Very good and they are at the top in terms of style.

Maxime: I’ve always loved their style. In the past, they had colourful jackets a bit like a jazz or rockabilly band.

Loïc: Now have beautiful leather jackets, pearls. They have a real sense of style on stage, and it also speaks to us quite a bit because it confirms our desire to show something at this level. We’re not just dressed like we are in real life on stage. We’re not that far away, but I’d say that on stage it’s a version of our style that’s a little bit exacerbated.

It’s great to tour with Royal Republic, they’re lovely. It’s a very human band and very sharing. They really came to us to integrate us into their great team, and we can’t wait to see them again to finish with these last 3 dates. And then maybe do more in the future.

In addition to these concerts with Royal Republic, do you already have other dates confirmed?

Loïc: It’s under discussion. We work on it with Gérard Drouot Production. It’s true that it’s been 2 years since we last did a headlining date in Paris. The last time was for our previous album in May 2023, so we’d like to do one again either in summer or in autumn.

Adrien: There will be other dates that will be announced soon and some festivals this summer and then we’ll see after the release of the album. 

A place where you will want to play one day in France or elsewhere.

Loïc : Zenith, Bercy, Stade de France.

Maxime: These are big dreams. I think the Royal Albert Hall in London is magnificent.

Loïc: And Wembley stadium.

Adrien: The stage of my dreams is the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.  I think It has something special, there aren’t many stages that are very recognizable like that visually. With all these flags, there’s something going on there. When an artist has done the Pyramid Stage as headliner, I say to myself, it’s okay, he’s taken the step!

Maxime: We mentioned that small scenes…

Loïc: Already the Olympia as the headliner is something. It was already a dream to play at the Olympia, we did it as a support band and to do it as headliner will be even more important. 

Maxime: Yes, it was a dream and it’s the fact of fulfilling it now will mean something. But the Trianon is magnificent, the Élysée Montmartre is magnificent also. And since we’re Parisians, it’ll be fun to do a concert at Bercy and then go home by metro.
