Attention weekend de folie en perspective ! Les 21, 22 et 23 juin prochains, Nancy deviendra la capitale de hard rock et heavy metal !

Metalheads de toute la France (et de l’étranger bien sûr) vous êtes conviés au “Heavy Week-end”.

Dans le cadre du Nancy Open-Air, ce nouveau festival réunira 6 légendes du hard rock et du heavy metal, Scorpions, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Megadeth et Extreme, qui seront entourés de 5 special guests de choix : Tom Morello, Pretty Maids, Sortilège, Ayron Jones et The Last Internationale.

Un festival « débutant » avec un line-up impressionnant qui se déroulera dans un endroit unique : au Zénith de Nancy, une salle de 6 000 places en forme de guitare électrique qui déploie sa scène réversible à ciel ouvert, se transformant ainsi en un vaste amphithéâtre pouvant accueillir jusqu’à 25 000 personnes.  Espérons que la pluie s’arrête jusqu’à là !

Faisons donc un petit récapitulatif des artistes qui se produiront au festival via la playlist de ce début mai !  

Vendredi 21, jour de la Fête de la Musique, The Last Internationale ouvrira les festivités. Le duo new yorkais formé par Delila Paz (chant, basse, piano) et Edgey Pires (guitare) va nous foudroyer avec leur rock blues énergique et engagé.

Puis ce sera au tour d’Extreme de confirmer son retour fulgurant sur le devant de la scène, avant que les allemands de Scorpions, légende parmi les légendes, groupe aux plus de 100 millions d’albums vendus, ne viennent fêter avec le public français les 40 ans de leur album “Love At First Sting”.

Samedi 22, les Français de Sortilège retrouveront une scène à la hauteur de leur réputation et de leur talent pour délivrer des versions imparables de leurs classiques qui ont marqué toute une génération d’amateurs de heavy metal à la française.

Ils seront suivis par Pretty Maids, groupe bien trop rare dans l’hexagone. Véritable fleuron de ce hard rock scandinave à la fois ultra puissant et mélodique, ces danois ont plus d’un hymne prêt à être repris en chœur à l’occasion de ces retrouvailles que l’on n’espérait plus.

Il sera alors temps pour Megadeth, membre éminent du fameux « Big Four » et maître incontesté du thrash metal, d’atomiser le public, avant que Deep Purple, l’un des géniteurs du hard rock, détenteur de ce qui est sans doute le riff de guitare le plus célèbre du monde, ne vienne enfoncer le clou de cette journée qui s’annonce forte en souvenirs et en émotions.

Dimanche 23, c’est le talentueux guitariste/chanteur / auteur compositeur américain, Ayron Jones et son rock grunge énergique teinté de blues et garni de riffs brulants et des belles mélodies qui enflammerons le Zenith de Nancy.

Il précédera Tom Morello, le guitariste de Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave et Prophets Of Rage qui, avec son style caractéristique, chargé d’effets plus dingues les uns que les autres, revisitera les riffs et solos des plus grandes compositions de ses trois prestigieuses formations.

La légende Alice Cooper le précurseur du shock-rock, maintes fois ressuscité et qui ne cesse pas de se réinventer, investira alors les lieux avec un show haut en couleurs.

Pour clôturer, Judas Priest, Les British Metal Gods viendront nous présenter leur 19eme album magistral, Invincible Shield, sorti le en Mars 2024. Au programme : rythmiques galopantes, riffs tranchants et ultra rapides et un Rob Halford au top de sa forme pour célébrer 50 ans de carrière !

Watch out, crazy weekend ahead! On June 21st, 22nd and 23rd, Nancy will become the capital of hard rock and heavy metal! 

Metalheads from all over France (and abroad of course) you are invited to “Heavy Weekend”.

As part of the Nancy Open-Air, this new festival will bring together 6 legends of hard rock and heavy metal, Scorpions, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Megadeth and Extreme, who will be surrounded by 5 special guests: Tom Morello, Pretty Maids, Sortilège, Ayron Jones and The Last Internationale.

A “beginner” festival with an impressive line-up that will take place in a unique location: at the Zénith de Nancy, a 6,000-seat hall in the shape of an electric guitar that deploys its reversible open-air stage, thus transforming into a vast arena that can accommodate up to 25,000 people.  Let’s hope the rain stops there!

So, let’s do a little recap of the artists who will perform at the festival via the playlist of this early May!  

On Friday 21st, the day of the Fête de la Musique, The Last Internationale will open the festivities. The New York duo formed by Delila Paz (vocals, bass, piano) and Edgey Pires (guitar) will blow us away with their energetic and committed blues rock.

Then it will be Extreme‘s turn to confirm its dazzling return to the front of the stage, before the German Scorpions, legend among legends, band with more than 100 million albums sold, come to celebrate with the French public the 40th anniversary of their album “Love At First Sting”.

On Saturday 22nd, the French band Sortilège will be back on stage to live up to their reputation and talent to deliver unstoppable versions of their classics that have marked a whole generation of French heavy metal fans. 

They will be followed by Pretty Maids, a band that is far too rare in France. A true jewel of this Scandinavian hard rock that is both ultra powerful and melodic, these Danes have more than one anthem ready to be taken up in chorus on the occasion of this reunion that we no longer hoped for. 

It will then be time for Megadeth, eminent member of the famous “Big Four” and undisputed master of thrash metal, to atomize the public, before Deep Purple, one of the progenitors of hard rock, holder of what is undoubtedly the most famous guitar riff in the world, comes to drive the nail into this day which promises to be strong in memories and emotions.

On Sunday 23rd, it’s the talented American guitarist/singer/songwriter, Ayron Jones and his energetic grunge rock tinged with blues and garnished with burning riffs and beautiful melodies that will set the Zenith of Nancy on fire.

He will precede Tom Morello, the guitarist of Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave and Prophets Of Rage who, with his characteristic style, loaded with effects each crazier than the last, will revisit the riffs and solos of the greatest compositions of his three prestigious formations. 

The legend Alice Cooper, the precursor of shock-rock, who has been resurrected many times and who never stops reinventing himself, will then take over the place with a colorful show.

To close, Judas Priest, The British Metal Gods will come to present their 19th masterful album, Invincible Shield, released in March 2024. On the program: galloping rhythms, sharp and ultra-fast riffs and a Rob Halford at the top of his form to celebrate 50 years of career!
