A Blazing Triumph: BlackRain sets the Trianon on Fire – Concert Review, 28.02.2026

Le 28 février, BlackRain célébrait la sortie de leur nouvel album, Orphans Of The Light, avec un concert en tête d’affiche au Trianon à Paris.

Un show inédit dans une salle mythique, présenté dès son annonce comme l’un des rendez‑vous majeurs de l’année, et qui, une fois lancé, s’impose comme une véritable consécration plutôt qu’un simple concert ! On vous raconte ?

Dès l’entrée au Trianon, une marée de silhouettes glam surgies des années 80 s’impose : t-shirts à l’effigie du groupe, chevelures peroxydées et crêpées, éclats de paillettes sur les visages, cuir noir et chapeaux haut-de-forme, les fans, parés de leurs plus beaux habits, célèbrent l’instant, prêts à se lancer dans un tourbillon de crowd surfing et de headbangings.

En ouverture, vers 19h45, les quatre membres survoltés d’OVERDRIVERS déboulent sur scène et la salle s’embrase aussitôt sous les décharges de leur hard rock brut, nerveux et gorgé d’énergie positive, digne héritier des géants australiens AC/DC.

Le groupe originaire de Béthune, en Hauts‑de‑France, enchaîne les morceaux brûlants, piochant aussi bien dans son dernier album, Glory or Nothing (Bad Breath Girl, Guitar Playboy, Overdrivers) que dans ses titres plus anciens (High Mountains ou Show Your Boobies).

Riffs écrasants, rythmique qui frappe comme un coup de fouet, solos tranchants, refrains catchy et une voix qui perce la mêlée…le public est happé d’un bloc, submergé par une montée d’adrénaline qui ne lui laisse aucun répit.

Anthony Clay (guitare), Adrien Desquirez (guitare, chant), Lion Das Neves (basse) Florian Morgano (Batterie) déploient l’artillerie lourde pour faire chauffer la salle et c’est à 100% réussi.

Derrière eux, des gogo danseuses surgissent par moments et électrisent instantanément la scène, injectant une dose supplémentaire de folie visuelle à un set déjà brûlant.

Sur Factory, un « prêtre » débarque pour bénir la fosse à coups de médiators avant de s’élancer dans un solo hallucinant, escorté par une nonne en tenue minimaliste.

Si les quatre musiciens carburent à plein régime, c’est bien le guitar hero Anthony Clay qui dynamite réellement le show. Inarrêtable, il sillonne la scène comme un électron libre, enchaîne les solos, plonge dans la foule, escalade les balcons, chauffe le public sans relâche et transforme son moment de bravoure en véritable cérémonie rock.

Overdrivers, en trois quarts d’heure, ne se contente pas de chauffer la salle : ils la retournent de fond en comble, laissant un Trianon en état de transe collective, parfaitement conditionné pour la suite de la soirée. Impressionnant !

Et bonne nouvelle : on pourra les revoir en première partie de SAXON en mai prochain (le 15 à Nantes / Zénith, le 16 à Toulouse / Zénith, le 17 à Paris / Zénith).

Petite pause et à 21 h, les lumières s’éteignent et le Trianon explose : la salle accueille le BLACKRAIN comme des héros, prête à hurler chaque refrain.

Les récemment couronnées « Lords of Sleaze » (par la radio anglaise Hard Rock HELL) arrivent sur scène : d’abord, Franky Costanza prend place derrière sa batterie installée sur un piédestal formé par deux roues géantes qui tournent sur un fond lumineux, ensuite, Matthieu de la Roche (basse) et Jerem G (guitare) viennent le flanquer et enfin, Swan Hellion (guitare, chant) fait irruption sur scène.

Toujours soucieux de leur esthétique, le groupe français originaire de Haute Savoie soigne autant son image que son impact scénique. Pas de décor surchargé, néanmoins la scène est impressionnante : une scénographie épurée mais redoutablement efficace, portée par un éclairage millimétré qui sculpte chaque riff et chaque mouvement des musiciens.

Un déluge de HITS et une pluie de NOUVEAUTES . Une célébration XXL du nouvel album et de deux décennies de carrière!

Release party oblige, les nouveaux titres s’enchaînent tout au longue de la soirée comme des évidences : Crack the Sky, Unleash the Fury, Orphans of the Light… Tous accueillis comme des hymnes instantanés. Les Méandres de l’Instinct, unique morceau en français, déclenche une vague d’émotion collective, porté par un refrain repris à pleins poumons.

La mascotte-goule- pirate de la nouvelle pochette débarque même sur scène, façon clin d’œil à Iron Maiden, ajoutant une touche théâtrale à un show déjà généreux.

BlackRain n’oublie pas ses classiques : Kiss the sky, Wild Wild Wild, Hellfire, Nobody But You… la ballade culte, jouée en acoustique, qui offre un magnifique moment d’émotion.

Le son, massif et limpide, met en valeur chaque instrument sans jamais étouffer la voix. Sur le devant de la scène, les musiciens affichent une aisance totale, jeu de scène impeccable mêlant professionnalisme et proximité avec un public déjà conquis.

Sawn domine la scène en chef d’orchestre inspiré et sait comment communiquer avec la foule ; Franky, au sommet de sa puissance, martèle la batterie avec une force redoutable ; Matt, sourire aux lèvres, rayonne d’un plaisir contagieux face à un public qui le lui rend au centuple. Quant au dernier arrivé dans la bande, Jérem, il confirme qu’il a trouvé sa place dans le groupe : feeling, technique, attitude, tout y est ! Sur Resurrection en véritable dieu de la guitare, il nous offrira un solo phénoménal !

Si les fans connaissent les classiques par cœur, et ils ne se privent pas de les hurler à pleins poumons, ils s’en sortent très bien aussi sur les sept nouveaux titres du dernier album qui s’invitent dans la setlist. Grâce aux singles/ vidéo clips déjà dévoilés, les refrains sont repris comme s’il s’agissait de vieux standards.

Des invités surprises, un final en apothéose et une salle en fusion

À mi-parcours, Cheyenne Janas (Furies, Chey’N’Shiners) rejoint le groupe pour une reprise ultra énergique de We’re Not Gonna Take It de Twisted Sister, transformant la salle en chorale géante.

Le rappel est un feu d’artifice : les classiques Untamed et Rock Your City, puis un final d’anthologie avec une version explosive de It’s a Long Way to the Top d’AC/DC avec Overdrivers, les danseuses et Christian Le Menn à la cornemuse. Une scène pleine à craquer, un public en transe, et un groupe qui savoure son triomphe. Une clôture flamboyante pour une soirée qui célèbre à la fois un nouvel album et deux décennies de carrière.

1h30 de pur glam hard rock non‑stop, devant un public venu non seulement de Paris mais aussi d’Allemagne, d’Angleterre ou de Suisse, comme Swan le soulignera.

BlackRain signe un show magistral, généreux et explosif, laissant le Trianon les yeux brillants et les oreilles ravies. Le groupe quittera la scène sous une pluie de médiators et de remerciements.

A blazing triumph: BlackRain sets the Trianon on fire

On February 28th, BlackRain celebrated the release of their new album, Orphans Of The Light, with a headlining concert at the Trianon in Paris.

A new show in a mythical venue, presented as one of the major events of the year from the moment it was announced, and which, once launched, stands out as a real consecration rather than a simple concert! Find out all about it!

As soon as we enter the Trianon, a sea of glam silhouettes from the 80s emerges: t-shirts with the band’s effigy, peroxide and crepe hair, make up and sequins on faces, black leather and top hats, fans, dressed in their best outfits, celebrate the moment, ready to embark on a whirlwind of crowd surfing and headbanging.

In opening, around 7:45 p.m., the four supercharged members of OVERDRIVERS burst onto the stage and the room immediately set ablaze under the discharges of their raw, nervous hard rock full of positive energy, worthy heir to the Australian giants AC/DC.

The band from Béthune, in Hauts de France, plays a series of hot songs, drawing as much from its latest album, Glory or Nothing (Bad Breath Girl, Guitar Playboy, Overdrivers) as from its older tracks (High Mountains or Show Your Boobies).

Crushing riffs, rhythmic that hits like a whiplash, sharp solos, catchy choruses and a voice that pierces the fray… The audience is caught up in a block, overwhelmed by an adrenaline rush that leaves them no respite.

Anthony Clay (guitar), Adrien Desquirez (guitar, vocals), Lion Das Neves (bass) and Florian Morgano (drums) deployed the heavy artillery to heat up the room and it was 100% successful.

Behind them, go-go dancers appear at times and instantly electrify the stage, injecting an extra dose of visual madness into an already burning set.

On Factory, a “priest” arrives to bless the pit with picks before launching into a hallucinatory solo, escorted by a nun in minimalist outfit.

If the four musicians are running at full speed, it is the guitar hero Anthony Clay who really dynamites the show. Unstoppable, he criss-crosses the stage like a free electron, performing solos, diving into the crowd, climbing balconies, warming up the audience relentlessly and transforming his moment of bravery into a real rock ceremony.

In 45 minutes, Overdrivers, doesn’t just heat up the room: they turn it upside down, leaving a Trianon in a state of collective trance, perfectly conditioned for the rest of the evening. Impressive!

And good news: we will be able to see them again as the opening act for SAXON in May 2026 (on the 15th in Nantes / Zénith, on the 16th in Toulouse / Zénith, on the 17th in Paris / Zénith).

A short break and at 9 p.m., the lights go out and the Trianon explodes: the room welcomes the BLACKRAIN like heroes, ready to scream every chorus.

The recently crowned “Lords of Sleaze” (by the English radio Hard Rock HELL) arrive on stage: first, Franky Costanza takes his place behind his drums installed on a pedestal formed by two giant wheels that turn on a luminous background, then, Matthieu de la Roche (bass) and Jerem G (guitar) come to flank him and finally, Swan Hellion (guitar, vocals) bursts onto the stage.

Always concerned about their aesthetics, the French band from Haute Savoie takes care of its image as much as its stage impact. No overloaded stage, nevertheless, an impressive one : a refined but formidably effective scenography, carried by millimetric lighting that sculpts each riff and each movement of the musicians.

Release party obliges, the new tracks follow one another throughout the evening as if they were obvious: Crack the Sky, Unleash the Fury, Orphans of the Light… All welcomed as instant anthems. Les Méandres de l’Instinct, the only track in French, triggers a wave of collective emotion, carried by a chorus taken up at the top of its lungs.

The mascot-ghoul-pirate of the new album cover even arrives on stage, in a nod to Iron Maiden, adding a theatrical touch to an already generous show.

BlackRain does not forget its classics: Kiss the sky, Wild Wild Wild, Hellfire, Nobody But You… The cult ballad, played acoustically, which offers a magnificent moment of emotion.

The sound, massive and clear, highlights each instrument without ever muffling the voice. At the front of the stage, the musicians display total ease, impeccable stage play combining professionalism and proximity to an already conquered audience.

Sawn dominates the stage as an inspired conductor and knows how to communicate with the crowd; Franky, at the height of his power, hammers the drums with formidable force; Matt, with a smile on his face, beams with contagious pleasure in front of an audience that returns it a hundredfold. As for the latest arrival in the group, Jérem, he confirms that he has found his place in the group: feeling, technique, attitude, everything is there! On Resurrection as a true guitar god, he will offer us a phenomenal solo!

If the fans know the classics by heart, and they don’t hesitate to scream them at the top of their lungs, they also do very well on the seven new tracks of the last album that invite themselves into the setlist. Thanks to the singles/video clips already unveiled, the choruses are taken up as if they were old standards.

Surprise guests, a grand finale and a melting room

Halfway through, Cheyenne Janas (Furies, Chey’N’Shiners) joins the band for an ultra-energetic cover of Twisted Sister’s We’re Not going to Take It, transforming the room into a giant choir.

The encore is fireworks: the classics Untamed and Rock Your City, then an anthology finale with an explosive version of AC/DC’s It’s a Long Way to the Top with Overdrivers, the dancers and Christian Le Menn on the bagpipes. A packed stage, an audience in a trance, and a band that is savouring its triumph. A flamboyant closing for an evening that celebrates both a new album and two decades of career.

1h30 of pure non-stop hard rock glam, in front of an audience coming not only from Paris but also from Germany, England or Switzerland, as Swan will point out.

BlackRain signs a masterful, generous and explosive show, leaving the Trianon with shining eyes and delighted ears. The band will leave the stage under a shower of picks and thanks.
