Alors que l’été s’achève sur une note de fraicheur, un souffle brûlant venu de Pennsylvanie embrase la scène rock internationale : EVEREST, le sixième album studio du groupe HALESTORM, s’impose comme l’une des sorties les plus marquantes du mois d’août et du 2025. Porté par la voix volcanique de Lzzy Hale et une énergie live capturée avec brio, ce nouvel opus confirme la place du groupe au sommet du hard rock contemporain. On vous parle en détail !
Depuis sa formation il y a 16 ans, HALESTORM n’a cessé de gravir les échelons en devenant l’une de référence scénique du rock actuel, grâce à une alchimie rare entre ses membres : la charismatique Lzzy Hale (chant/guitare), son frère Arejay Hale (batterie), Joe Hottinger (guitare) et Josh Smith (basse).
Cet été, le groupe a enchaîné les performances prestigieuses : en ouverture d’Iron Maiden en Europe, en première partie de Volbeat aux États-Unis, et lors du dernier concert historique Back To The Beginning de Black Sabbath à Birmingham, le 5 juillet.
Sorti le 8 août sur Atlantic Records et produit par Dave Cobb (Rival Sons, Lady Gaga, Greta Van Fleet), EVEREST est bien plus qu’un album : c’est une déclaration d’intention.
« Notre album Everest est l’histoire de notre voyage en tant que groupe, plein de magnifiques fins et de nouveaux départs », confie Lzzy Hale.
La chanson-titre est la preuve. Véritable manifeste, elle utilise l’ascension de l’Everest comme métaphore de la persévérance et de la résilience du groupe. Avec sa montée en puissance progressive, son refrain magistral et son solo de guitare déchirant, le morceau incarne l’essence même de Halestorm : brut, sincère, incandescent. Lzzy y hurle sa survie, sa rage, son espoir comme jamais.

Les 12 titres de l’album s’enchaînent sans aucun temps mort. De l’abrasive Fallen Star qui ouvre l’album comme une météorite au mélancolique How Will You Remember Me qui le clôture, chaque morceau explore tous les facettes et les talents du groupe.
Darkness Always Wins : est une épopée hard rock dramatique, portée par une vidéo cinématographique et un refrain triomphant qui délivre un message inquiétant : notre réalité est sombre.
Rain Your Blood On Me et Watch Out! sont deux cris de guerre féministes, où Lzzy Hale en furie, poing levé crache sa colère d’une manière spectaculaire. Elle hurle littéralement sa rage et ses revendications sincèrement et sans filtres. Epoustouflant !
Magnifique piano-voix, un solo en feu, Like A Woman Can sublime et bouleversante marque les esprits. Une ballade hard rock aux accents blues et soul, où LZZY, entre douceur caressante et rugissements féroces livre une performance vocale à couper le souffle. Une Janis Joplin des temps modernes. Sans doute l’une de meilleure chanson du groupe de tous les temps et ma préférée !
Tout au long de l’album, Lzzy se dévoile avec une rare honnêteté. Broken Doll et I Gave You Everything explorent les relations toxiques avec une sincérité désarmante. La fronwoman se met à nu, elle parle de ses peurs, de ses blessures, de ses doutes et ça nous touche.

K-I-L-L-L-I-N-G, chaotique et énervé , puise dans l’énergie brute et la fureur du live tandis que How Will You Remember Me clôt l’album sur une note tendre et introspective posant une question inhabituelle pour un groupe encore jeune : comment se souviendra-t-on de HALESTORM ? Je répondrais avec EVEREST, évidement.
Car HALESTORM livre un album féroce et viscéral, où chaque riff, chaque cri, chaque silence résonne comme une étape de leur propre ascension.
EVEREST, ce sont des riffs contagieux, des solos brûlants, des mélodies entêtantes, des textes puissants et surtout c’est la voix époustouflante de LZZY HALE, impériale sur chaque morceau. Sa capacité à alterner les rugissements déchirants, les murmures vulnérables et les envolées bluesy frappe tout au long du disque.

As the summer ends on a fresh note, a scorching breath from Pennsylvania is setting the international rock scene ablaze: EVEREST, the sixth studio album of HALESTORM, stands out as one of the most memorable releases of the month of August and of 2025. Since its formation 16 years ago, HALESTORM has continued to climb the ladder by becoming one of the rock stage references thanks to a rare chemistry between its members: the charismatic Lzzy Hale (vocals/guitar), her brother Arejay Hale (drums), Joe Hottinger (guitar) and Josh Smith (bass).
This summer, the band has performed a series of prestigious performances: opening for Iron Maiden in Europe, opening for Volbeat in the United States, and at Black Sabbath’s historic last concert Back To The Beginning in Birmingham, on July 5.
Released on August 8 on Atlantic Records and produced by Dave Cobb (Rival Sons, Lady Gaga, Greta Van Fleet), EVEREST is much more than an album: it’s a statement of intent.
“Our album Everest is a story of our journey as a band, full of beautiful endings and new beginnings,” says Halestorm’s frontwoman Lzzy Hale.
The title track is the proof. A true manifesto, that uses the ascent of Everest as a metaphor for the group’s perseverance and resilience. With its gradual build-up, masterful chorus, and heartbreaking guitar solo, the track embodies the essence of Halestorm: raw, sincere, incandescent. Lzzy screams her survival, her rage, her hope like she never did before.

The 12 tracks of the album follow one another without any dead time. From the abrasive Fallen Star that opens the album like a meteorite to the melancholic How Will You Remember Me that closes it, each track explores all the facets and talents of the band.
Darkness Always Wins: is a dramatic hard rock epic, carried by a cinematic video and a triumphant chorus that delivers a worrying message: our reality is dark.
Rain Your Blood On Me and Watch Out! are two feminist war cries, where Lzzy Hale in fury, fist raised, spits her anger in a spectacular way. She literally screams her rage and her demands sincerely and without filters. Outstanding!
EVEREST is a musical and emotional summit that confirms their status as giants of modern rock.
A magnificent piano voice, a solo on fire, Like A Woman Can sublime and moving makes an impression. A hard rock ballad with blues and soul accents, where LZZY, between caressing sweetness and ferocious roars, delivers a breathtaking vocal performance. Definitely, the Janis Joplin of our time. Probably one of the band’s best songs of all time and my favorite!
Throughout the album, Lzzy Hale reveals herself with a rare honesty. Broken Doll and I Gave You Everything explore toxic relationships with disarming sincerity. The fronwoman lays herself bare, she talks about her fears, her wounds, her doubts and it touches us.
K-I-L-L-L-L-I-N-G, chaotic and edgy, draws on the raw energy and fury of live while How Will You Remember Me closes the album on a tender and introspective note asking an unusual question for a still young band: how will we remember HALESTORM? I would say with EVEREST, of course. Because HALESTORM delivers here a ferocious and visceral album, where each riff, each scream, each silence resonates as a stage of their own ascent.
