19 et 20 juillet 2025, les fans de heavy metal ont vécu un weekend historique à Paris. IRON MAIDEN faisait escale dans la capitale pour célébrer 50 ans d’existence avec deux concerts sold out dans le cadre de la tournée mondiale Run For Your Lives.
A l’occasion, l’Esplanade de la Défense, le quartier d’affaires parisien où se trouve le lieu de l’évènement, la plus grande salle couverte d’Europe, La Défense Arena (40 000 spectateurs) s’était transformée dans un va et vient continu de fans de tous les âges habillés avec des t-shirts, sweats et blousons arborant Eddie, la célèbre mascotte iconique du groupe qui apparait sur toutes les pochettes d’albums.
Des familles entières, du plus petit au plus âgé arboraient avec fierté des Eddies de toutes les époques et arpentaient le bitume entre le Eddie’s Dive Bar, le bar éphémère ouvert pendant tout le weekend et la salle de spectacle.
Notre périple démarre donc avec un petit passage au Bar. Au milieu des grattes ciels, le Eddie’s Dive Bar offrait deux terrasses avec vue imprenable sur l’Arc de Triomphe d’un côté et l’Arche de la Défense de l’autre. L’ambiance est Fun ! La boutique de merchandising est prise d’assaut. Une énorme sélection des produits dérivées : T-shirts, sacs à dos, casquettes, écussons etc est disponible alors que le bar offre des nombreuses boissons dont la fameuse bière Iron Maiden, mais aussi des pizzas aux noms des chansons du groupe. Evidemment, une playlist Iron Maiden hurlait à fond dans les enceintes, les fans profitant ainsi d’un petit échauffement avant d’aller au concert.
Un fois arrivés la salle, même ambiance : les couloirs grouillent du monde et on tombe nez à nez avec Eddie de toutes les époques.
La mission d’ouvrir les deux soirées revient à AVATAR. Plus besoin de vous présenter les Suédois dont, ici chez Rock Art Fashion, on est les plus grands fans.
A 19h30, le groupe fera une entrée spectaculaire car Johannes Eckerström, alias the Clown, l’excentrique fabuleux chanteur sortira d’une boite cadeau, un ballon rouge à la main, sourire diabolique aux lèvres peintes.
Rapidement ses 4 acolytes : Jonas ‘Kungen’ Jarlsby (guitare) et Tim Öhrstrom (guitare), Henrik Sandelin (basse, chant) et John Alfredsson (batterie) le rejoint et le Metal Circus démarre en trombe avec l’endiablé Dance Devil Dance !
Le nom du groupe s’affiche en grande lettre lumineuse en fond de scène et les musiciens avec leurs costumes et maquillages habituels se lancer dans leur headbanings tourbillonnants et coordonnées. Il ne faut pas plus pour que la fosse commence à s’agiter, et pas que, car dans les gradins où on est assis il semble y avoir quelques grands fans aussi !
Comme à son habitude Johannes engage le public dès le début et va faire son show théâtral. Il ne manquera de s’adresser à la salle évoquant le plaisir de jouer à Paris sur la même scène que leur idoles Iron Maiden.
La set list va comprendre 8 chansons. Parmi eux les incontournable Let It Burn, The Dirt I’m Buried In, le magistral Boody Angel et le quintette suédois nous fera l’immense plaisir d’interpréter deux nouveaux singles le dark et lourd, Capitan Goat etle tout frais, In the Airwaves, sorti le 18 juillet, peut-être le plus rapide morceaux que le groupe nous a présenté jusqu’à maintenant.

Le public est de plus en plus chaud, les bras se lèvent dans l’air, les cris et les ovations abondent.
Si à la demande du chanteur qui a déjà vu AVATAR, il n’y a pas beaucoup de bras que se lèvent, et il va évidemment se marrer et les compter en français, les autres qui les voient pour la première fois se manifestent bruyamment. Il leur souhaite donc la bienvenue dans la famille avant de d’interpréter le furieux Smels Like a Freak show.
Avalanches de riffs féroces, rythmique l’implacable, chant exceptionnel, les 45 minutes qui leur sont accordés passent dans un clin d’œil. Ce show hélas ! trop court mais ultra puissant va se terminer avec le classique et dantesque Hail the Apocalypse.
Johannes profite pour nous annoncer les prochains passages en France en 2026 au Cube à Lyon, le lundi 2 mars, puis au Zénith de Paris La Villette le samedi 7 mars. Jusqu’à là le chanteur nous dis au revoir « Take care of Yourself, Take care of each other and Have Fun with Iron Maiden).
Enormes ovations accompagnent la sortie du groupe. Ce soir, AVATAR a forcément attiré des nombreux nouveaux fans. Ne les manquez pas en 2026 !

20h50, le titre Doctor Doctor du groupe anglais UFO résonne dans la salle et le public commence à rebondir. Les lumières s’éteignent et en fond de The Ides of March, les célébrations démarrent dans les sombres ruelles de Londres qui sont projetés sur l’écran impressionnant qui se dévoile devant nos yeux. La caméra passe devant de façades des pubs, des maisons avant de s’aventurer dans un tunnel et de tomber nez à nez avec Eddie !
Et puis les images changent et nous voilà à Paris, avec ses monuments : la Tour Eiffel, Notre-Dame de Paris, le Panthéon, l’Arc de Triomphe projetés sur les écrans et les Iron Maiden qui débarquent sur scène pour jouer en enfilades trois morceaux frénétiques et rares en live extraits de l’album Killers sorti en 1981: Murders in the Rue Morgue, Wrathchild et Killers.
Cette salve explosive d’ouverture mettra les fans KO. Enormes cris et ovations, l’aréna vibre et bourdonne sous les sonorités heavy metal fantastiques. Le son est très bon et les visuels projetés sur le gigantesque écran qui domine la ligne de fond sont spectaculaires. Des deux côtes de la scène, il ya deux écrans plus petits qui diffusent plutôt des images des musiciens.
Bruce Dickinson, cheveux attachés, jean et veste en cuir est incroyablement dynamique. L’énergie débordante, il court partout, il ne tient pas une seule seconde en place, il fait tourner son pied de micro et fait des grands gestes vers l’audience et surtout il chante parfaitement. Les autres musiciens ne sont pas en moindre. Steve Harris (basse) et les trois guitariste Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Janick Gers se déplacent sans arrêt, échangent leurs places avec énergie, s’amusent ou s’alignent devant la scène en grande complicité.
Un Eddie gigantesque aux yeux rouges, habillé de la même manière que Bruce, fait une apparition redoutable sur Killers. Avec une hache ensanglantée à la main, il marche à grands pas sur scène et semble vouloir la balancer sur la tête du pauvre Janick Gers. Le public est comblé et se manifeste avec énorme ferveur. L’ambiance est électrique.
Un set list démentiel, 2 heures de show spectaculaire, des visuels vraiment impressionnants, des effets à la pointe de la technologie… IRON MAIDEN a mis tous les moyens en œuvre pour que les fans soient comblés!
Avant d’interpréter Phantom Of The Opera, Bruce Dickinson prendra la parole en français, langue qu’il maitrise très bien (le chanteur vit à Paris depuis longtemps). Il va nous parler avec émotion de ces 50 ans de carrière et il profite également pour présenter Simon Dawson, le nouveau batteur qui succède à Nicko McBrain, le batteur légendaire du groupe qui a pris sa retraite en 2024. Grands salves d’applaudissements avant que les riffs mythiques du morceau démarrent et le rideau rouge en fond de scène laissera la place à un superbe escalier qui rappelle celui du Palais Garnier.
La suite sera une succession d’hymnes heavy metal légendaires extraits de plus anciens albums du groupe : de l’éponyme Iron Maiden sorti en 1980 à Fear Of The Dark de 1992, à chaque fois avec une interprétation fabuleuse et des visuels d’exception.
The Number of the Beast sera accompagné par de scène de films d’horreur en noir et blanc comme Nosferatu et aussi par de jets de flammes et sera évidemment chanté à l’unisson par tous les fans en extase.
Les visuels spectaculaires se succèdent sur The Clarvoyant, Powerslave et sa pyramide ornée du le sphinx d’Eddie-fied. Dickinson l’interprétera avec un masque à plumes sur le visage.
2 Minutes To Midnight sera reprise en chœur par les fans et se terminera dans une explosion atomique virtuelle. Mais, la plus impressionnante est peut-être Rime of the Ancient Mariner, morceau inspirée du poème épique de Samuel Taylor Coleridge, une véritable l’épopée de métal progressif accompagné par des visuels époustouflants et immersifs : brouillard, l’océan déchainé, coucher de soleil…
Run to the Hills, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, The Trooper seront aussi chanté à tue-tête par le public en délire. Sur cette dernière, Bruce arrive en tunique rouge de l’armée britannique, arborant l’Union Jack puis le drapeau français alors qu’Eddie revient sur scène sabre à la main, habillé de la même façon. Enorme spectacle. Scream for me Paris (Cris pour moi Paris !) répète sans arrêt Dickinson !
Et ce n’est pas fini, car la mise en scène de Hallowed Be Thy Name sera encore plus impressionnante et nous fera frissonner. Enfermé dans une cage, Bruce Dickinson est condamné à la pendaison. Mais l’artiste se métamorphose sur l’écran et poursuivi jusqu’à sa mort par une goule et renaît finalement sur scène la corde à la main. Spectaculaire !
Grande frénésie lorsque résonne le titre Iron Maiden. Janick Gers fait tourner sa guitare et les écrans géants dévoilent un Eddie en 3D hyper énervé qui semble sortir de l’écran et qui finit par débrancher les câbles et faire des étincelles !
Le rappel démarre avec le classique discours de Churchill en intro de Aces High, sur fond de combats aériens de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale et un Dickinson avec l’incontournable casquette d’aviateur.
Pour le magique et ténébreux Fear of the Dark repris en chœur par TOUTE la salle, Bruce enfilera son costume victorien et accompagné une lanterne chantera divinement en fond de plein lune et cimetière hanté.
Et enfin Wasted Years accompagné par des visuels de vaisseaux spatial clôturera magistralement cette soirée d’anthologie.
50 ans après la formation du groupe par le talentueux bassiste et compositeur Steve Harris, IRON MAIDEN est toujours au TOP de sa forme !
Ce soir à Paris, on a assisté à un concert ou plutôt à une opéra heavy metal à couper le souffle avec des musiciens absolument incroyables!
Un set list démentiel, 2 heures de show spectaculaire, des visuels vraiment impressionnants, des effets à la pointe de la technologie, une mise en scène grandiose avec une succession de tableaux, de costumes, de flammes, des créatures géantes, IRON MAIDEN a mis tous les moyens en œuvre pour que les fans soient comblés! Une célébration triomphale de 50 ans de carrière !
Si dans la salle avant le concert un appel est affiché « veuillez respecter le groupe, veuillez respecter les autres fans, rangez vos téléphones » il était impossible de résister et ne pas capturer quelques moments inoubliables.
Merci IRON MAIDEN et AVATAR pour cette nuit grandiose de heavy metal ! Des moments forts gravée à jamais dans nos mémoires !

July 19 and 20, 2025, heavy metal fans experienced a historic weekend in Paris. IRON MAIDEN stopped in the French capital to celebrate 50 years of existence with two sold-out concerts as part of the Run For Your Lives world tour.
On the occasion, the Esplanade de la Défense, the Parisian business district where the event is located, the largest indoor venue in Europe, La Défense Arena (40,000 spectators) was transformed into a continuous coming and going of fans of all ages dressed in t-shirts, sweatshirts and jackets featuring Eddie, the band’s famous iconic mascot who appears on all album covers.
Entire families, from the youngest to the oldest one, proudly wore Eddies from all eras and walked the asphalt between Eddie’s Dive Bar, the pop-up bar open all weekend and the venue.
Our journey starts with a little visit to the Bar. In the middle of the skyscrapers, Eddie’s Dive Bar offered two terraces with breathtaking views of the Arc de Triomphe on one side and the Arche de la Défense on the other. The atmosphere is nice and fun! The merchandising shop is overcrowded. A huge selection of merchandise: T-shirts, backpacks, caps, patches etc are available while the bar offers many drinks including the famous Iron Maiden beer, but also pizzas named after the band’s songs. Of course, an Iron Maiden playlist was screaming loudly through the speakers, so fans could enjoy a little warm-up before going to the concert.
Once arrived at the Arena, the same atmosphere: the corridors are teeming with people, and you come face to face with Eddie from all eras.
The mission to open the two evenings comes to AVATAR. No need to introduce you to the Swedes, of whom, here at Rock Art Fashion, we are the biggest fans.
At 7:30 p.m., the band will make a spectacular entrance because Johannes Eckerström, aka the Clown, the eccentric fabulous singer will come out of a gift box, a red balloon in his hand, a diabolical smile on his painted lips.
Quickly his 4 acolytes: Jonas ‘Kungen’ Jarlsby (guitar) and Tim Öhrstrom (guitar), Henrik Sandelin (bass, vocals) and John Alfredsson (drums) joined him and the Metal Circus started with a bang : the frenzied Dance Devil Dance!
The name of the band is displayed in large luminous letters at the back of the stage and the musicians wearing their usual costumes and make-up launch into their swirling and coordinated headbanings. It doesn’t take more for the pit to start shaking, and not only, because in the stands where we are sitting there seem to be some big fans too!

As usual, Johannes engages the audience from the beginning and goes to do his theatrical show. He will not fail to address the audience evoking the pleasure of playing in Paris on the same stage as their idols Iron Maiden.
The set list will include 8 songs. Among them the unmissable Let It Burn, The Dirt I’m Buried In, the masterful Boody Angel and the Swedish quintet will give us the immense pleasure of performing two new singles, the dark and heavy, Capitan Goat and the very fresh, In the Airwaves, released on July 18th, perhaps the fastest track the band has released us so far.
The audience is getting hotter and hotter, arms are raised in the air, shouts and ovations abound.
If at the request of the singer who has already seen AVATAR, there are not many arms that are raised, and he will obviously laugh and count them in French, the others who see them for the first time show up noisily. He welcomed them to the family before performing the furious Smels Like a Freak show.
Avalanches of fierce riffs, implacable rhythm, exceptional vocals, the 45 minutes given to them pass in the blink of an eye. This show, unfortunately too short but ultra powerful will end with the classic and Dantesque Hail the Apocalypse.
Johannes takes the opportunity to announce the next shows in France in 2026 at the Cube in Lyon, on Monday, March 2, then at the Zénith de Paris La Villette on Saturday, March 7. Until then the singer says goodbye to us “Take care of Yourself, Take care of each other and Have Fun with Iron Maiden”!

8:50 p.m., the song Doctor Doctor by the English band UFO resonates in the room and the audience begins to bounce. The lights go out and in the background of The Ides of March, the celebrations start in the dark alleys of London which are projected on the impressive screen that unfolds before our eyes. The camera passes in front of the facades of pubs, houses before venturing into a tunnel and coming face to face with Eddie!
And then the images change and here we are in Paris, with its monuments: the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame de Paris, the Pantheon, the Arc de Triomphe projected on the screens and the Iron Maiden who arrive on stage to play three frenetic and rare live tracks from the album Killers released in 1981: Murders in the Rue Morgue, Wrathchild and Killers.
An insane set list, 2 hours of spectacular show, impressive visuals, state-of-the-art effects, a grandiose staging… IRON MAIDEN did everything to ensure that the fans are delighted!
This explosive opening salvo will knock out the fans. Huge screams and ovations, the arena vibrates and buzzes under the fantastic heavy metal sounds. The sound is very good and the visuals projected on the gigantic screen that dominates the bottom line are spectacular. On both sides of the stage, there are two smaller screens that show images of the musicians.
Bruce Dickinson, with his hair tied back, jeans and a leather jacket, is incredibly dynamic. With boundless energy, he runs everywhere, he doesn’t sit still for a single second, he spins his microphone stand and makes big gestures towards the audience and above all, he sings perfectly. The other musicians are not the least. Steve Harris (bass) and the three guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Janick Gers move non-stop, exchange places with energy, have fun or line up in front of the stage with big complicity.
A gigantic red-eyed Eddie, dressed in the same way as Bruce, makes a formidable appearance on Killers. With a bloody axe in his hand, he strode on stage and seemed to want to throw it at poor Janick Gers’ head. The audience is delighted and manifests itself with enormous fervour. The atmosphere is electric.
Before performing Phantom Of The Opera, Bruce Dickinson will speak in French, a language he masters very well (the singer has lived in Paris for a long time). He will speak to us with emotion about these 50 years of career and he also takes the opportunity to introduce Simon Dawson, the new drummer who succeeds Nicko McBrain, the legendary drummer of the band who retired in 2024.
Big rounds of applause before the mythical riffs of the song start and the red curtain at the back of the stage will give way to a superb staircase reminiscent of the Palais Garnier.
What followed will be a succession of legendary heavy metal anthems from the band’s oldest albums: from the eponymous Iron Maiden released in 1980 to Fear Of The Dark from 1992, each time with a fabulous interpretation and exceptional visuals.
The Number of the Beast will be accompanied by scenes from black and white horror movies such as Nosferatu and also by jets of flames and will obviously be sung in unison by all the fans in ecstasy.
Spectacular visuals follow one another on The Clairvoyant, Powerslave and its pyramid adorned with Eddie-fied’s sphinx. Dickinson will perform it with a feathered mask on his face.
2 Minutes To Midnight will be sing a long by fans and will end in a virtual atomic explosion. But perhaps the most impressive is Rime of the Ancient Mariner, a track inspired by Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s epic poem, a true progressive metal epic accompanied by breathtaking and immersive visuals: fog, the raging ocean, sunset…
Run to the Hills, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, The Trooper will also be sung at the top of their lungs by the delirious audience. On the latter, Bruce arrives in a red British army tunic, wearing the Union Jack and then the French flag while Eddie returns to the stage saber in hand, dressed in the same way. Huge show. “Scream for me Paris” repeats Dickinson endlessly!
And it’s not over, because the staging of Hallowed Be Thy Name will be even more impressive and will make us shiver. Locked in a cage, Bruce Dickinson is sentenced to hang. But the artist metamorphoses on the screen and is chased until his death by a ghoul and is finally reborn on stage with a rope in his hand. Spectacular!
Great frenzy when the song Iron Maiden resounds. Janick Gers spins his guitar, and the giant screens reveal a hyper angry 3D Eddie who seems to come out of the screen and who ends up disconnecting the cables and making sparks!
The encore starts with Churchill’s classic speech from the intro Aces High, against a backdrop of World War II air combat and Dickinson with the inevitable aviator cap.
For the magical and dark Fear of the Dark taken up in chorus by THE ENTIRE room, Bruce will put on his Victorian costume and the lantern that accompanies it in the background of the full moon and haunted cemetery.
And finally, Wasted Years, accompanied by visuals of spaceships, will masterfully close this anthology evening.
50 years after the formation of the band by the talented bassist and songwriter Steve Harris, IRON MAIDEN is at the top of its game!
An insane set list, 2 hours of spectacular show, impressive visuals, state-of-the-art effects, a grandiose staging with a succession of scenes, costumes, flames, giant creatures, strong and memorable moments, the legends IRON MAIDEN did everything to ensure that the fans are delighted. A triumphant celebration of 50 years of career!
A breathtaking concert or rather heavy metal opera with incredible musicians.
If in the room before the concert a call is posted “please respect the band, please respect the other fans, keep your phones in your pocket”, it was impossible to resist and not capture these unforgettable moments.
