Les 13 mars 2025, NO MONEY KIDS, nous donnait RDV à la Maroquinerie, Paris pour célébrer leur nouvel album, FIREWORKS, sorti le 31 janvier 2025.
Nous avons adoré l’album du duo français formé Félix Matschulat (Guitare-chant) et JM Paletan (Basse-drums-électronique) – nous avions donc hâte de l’écouter live et on n’est pas les seuls, car ce soir le concert est annoncé COMPLET !
La salle est déjà pleine quand un autre duo français originaire d’Amiens, Edgär, monte sur scène. Ça sera une performance acoustique en configuration deux voix et deux guitares, car comme les deux sympathiques musiciens compositeurs, Antoine Brun et Ronan Mézière, nous expliquent, leur batteur à la grippe.
Face à cet imprévu, ils ont dû adapter à la dernière minute le concert électrique en concert acoustique ! C’était inattendu pour eux, mais le duo s’en sort avec brio.
Ils interpréteront plusieurs morceaux de leur excellent album « Edgär is Dead » sorti l’année dernière. Le son est très bon, les mélodies son jolies et les harmonies vocales, signature remarquable d’Edgär, sont magnifiques. L’interprétation, la communication avec le public et les lumières tamisées créent une ambiance intimiste. Le public apprécie et applaudi chaleureusement. A la demande du groupe, Il chantera avec enthousiasme le refrain sur le dernier morceaux It’s Gonna Be Alright.
Certes Edgär n’a pas fait trembler les murs avec ses guitares saturés comme ils l’auraient souhaité, mais ce show acoustique c’était bien CHOUETTE ! Nous espérons les revoir bientôt !
Un petit entracte avant que NO MONEY KIDS monte sur scène. Félix Matschulat et JM Paletan accompagnés par le batteur Alex Berger, démarrent avec Old City Blues sous les ovations des fans. Excellente entrée en matière qui donne parfaitement le ton à cette soirée placée sous le signe de blues rock électro lumineux et énergique.
Des riffs rugissants, des rythmiques tourbillonnantes, les sonorités lo fi catchy s’enchaînent avec Motel Way of life, BIG ou Story of a Man, les extraits du nouvel album sont à l’honneur.
La température monte dans la salle. La fosse est archi pleine et des fans de tous les âges, visiblement beaucoup de connaisseurs du groupe, bougent avec ferveur. Des sauts, de cris et des applaudissements accompagnent joyeusement chaque chanson. Les Kids (le surnom que le groupe donne à ses fans) sont au RDV !
L’éclairage est assez sombre en prédominance des tons de rose et violet, assorti au néon rose NO MONEY KIDS au fond de la scène. Il y aussi a un palmier qui donne un petit air de plage -vacances et la batterie est protégé par une paroi en plexiglass.
La set list sera donc composé des nouvelles chansons de FIREWORKS (j’en ai compté 7) et mais aussi des morceaux plus anciens comme le Super hit Brother ou l’entêtant I’m Rollin’.
Du blues – rock brut mixé à l’électro bien dosé par le maitre JM qui officie derrière ses claviers. Il est entouré de tout un arsenal d’instruments, des claviers, des guitares, des pédales et d’autres effets. Il sort de temps en temps avec sa basse pour jouer en duo avec Félix ou en bord de scène.
Félix, voix soul légèrement rauque, est très en forme. Malgré la petite scène encombrée, il nous régale d’un jeu de guitare très dynamique, il saute, il levé ses jambes, il joue même à genoux. L’alchimie entre les deux musiciens est évidente. La batterie les accompagne avec beaucoup d’entrain.
Des morceaux bien énergiques et rythmés se mêlent parfaitement à ceux plus bluesy marécageux, dont l’imparable Rosie, accueilli avec grand enthousiasme par les fans.
Felix remercia plusieurs fois au public d’être là et de partager ce moment de bonheur avec eux.
Laissés pour la fin, Fireworks et Get Ready, feront des étincelles ! Le parfait bouquet final évidemment !
Ce soir, NO MONEY KIDS nous offre un concert électrisant, exaltant et généreux où chaque morceau a été interprété avec panache et une énergie débordante.
Des cadences entrainantes, des refrains contagieux, un groove vibrant et addictif, les fans en effervescence ont profité de chaque moment inoubliable.
NO MONEY KIDS reviendra à Paris le 13 mars 2026 au Trabendo mais jusqu’à là on aura l’occasion de les voir cette année sur les routes de la France. Allez les voir à côté de chez vous !

On March 13, 2025, NO MONEY KIDS, invited us to La Maroquinerie, Paris to celebrate their new album, FIREWORKS, released on January 31, 2025.
We loved the album of the French duo formed Félix Matschulat (Guitar-vocals) and JM Paletan (Bass-drums-electronics) – so we couldn’t wait to listen to it live and we’re not the only ones, because tonight the concert is announced SOLD OUT!
The venue is already full when another French duo from Amiens, Edgär, takes the stage. It will be an acoustic performance in a two-vocals, two-guitar configuration, because as the musician-composers, Antoine Brun and Ronan Mézière, explain to us, their drummer has the flu, so he couldn’t come.
Faced to this unforeseen event, they had to adapt the electric concert to an acoustic one at the last minute! It was certainly unexpected for them, but the duo did it brilliantly.
They will perform several songs from their excellent album “Edgär is Dead” released last year. The sound is very good, the melodies sound pretty and the vocal harmonies, Edgär’s remarkable signature, are magnificent. The interpretation, the communication with the audience and the dim lights create an intimate atmosphere.
The audience appreciates and applauds warmly. At the request of the band, everyone will enthusiastically sing along the chorus on the last track of the show, It’s going to Be Alright.
Of course, Edgär didn’t shake the walls with its saturated guitars as they would have liked, but this acoustic show was GREAT! We hope to see them again soon!
A short break before NO MONEY KIDS goes on stage. Félix Matschulat and JM Paletan, accompanied by the drummer Alex Berger, started the show with Old City Blues under a standing ovation from the fans.
An excellent introduction that perfectly sets the tone for this evening placed under the sign of bright and energetic electro blues rock.
Roaring guitar riffs, swirling rhythms, the lo-fi catchy sounds follow one another with Motel Way of Life, BIG or Story of a Man, the songs out of the new album are in the spotlight.
The temperature rises in the room. The pit is crowded and fans of all ages, obviously many connoisseurs of the band, move fervently. Jumps, shouts and applause joyfully accompany each song.
“The Kids” (the nickname the band gives to its fans) are there and motivated!
The lighting is quite dark, predominantly shades of pink and purple matched with the pink neon NO MONEY KIDS at the back of the stage. There is also a palm tree that gives a little beach-holiday air and the battery is protected by a plexiglass wall.
The set list will be composed of new songs from FIREWORKS (I counted 7 of them) and also older songs like the super hit Brother or the catchy I’m Rollin’.
Raw Blues- rock mixed with electro well dosed by the master JM who officiates behind his keyboards. It is surrounded by a whole arsenal of instruments, keyboards, guitars, pedals and other effects. He goes out from his corner from time to time with his bass to play in duets with Félix or on the side of the stage.
Félix, with his soul and slightly raspy voice, is in very good shape. Despite the small and crowded stage, he has a to a very dynamic guitar playing he jumps, he lifts his legs, he even plays on his knees.
The chemistry between the two musicians is obvious. The drums accompany them with great enthusiasm.
Very energetic and rhythmic tracks blend perfectly with those more bluesy, including the awesome Rosie, welcomed with great enthusiasm by the fans.
Félix thanked the audience several times for being there and sharing this moment of happiness with them.
With the finale composed by Fireworks and Get Ready, NO MONEY KIDS will make sparks! The perfect final bouquet of the Fireworks !
Tonight, NO MONEY KIDS offers us an electrifying, exhilarating and generous concert where each song was performed with panache and overflowing energy. Catchy cadences, contagious choruses, a vibrant and addictive groove, the fans in effervescence enjoyed every unforgettable moment.
NO MONEY KIDS will be back to Paris, on March 13, 2026 at the Trabendo but until then, we will have the opportunity to see them this year on the roads of France. Go see them near you!
